One thing I noticed for myself was holding the barrel of the gun higher than I think I might need- I’ve got a lot of headshots with point fire without even trying.. just having the position works wonders
Based, love you bb. Recently been getting over my gear fear by just forcing myself to run factory back to back. I don’t give myself time to become too infatuated with my kits. It has certainly improved my reaction speed and initiative. Ended up killing tagilla by legging him with a 4 shot scav 870. Now I have a pristine tagilla kit and a pimped out saiga that I am too afraid to run. Whoops.
A trick I’ve noticed is that if you aim at their stomach, depending on the gun the gun will rise naturally to the head from full auto fire for the first couple shots. This isn’t always the case because recoil is always random and never predictable but this does happen sometimes
Tip for learning leg meta: Go into offline factory raids with an mp5 or similar smg and kill tagilla. This forces you to learn how to aim at the legs against geared opponents
IMO Get used to aiming for the head. Leg meta is great if the other person has lv 6 face shield but majority of the players don't run that helmet even late wipe(might be more common in labs or factory but eh)
@@NarutoMagicCyclops well if you're going to use something like a ks-23 or any high damage round, you might as well learn how to use it. Leg meta doesn't necessarily have to be effective, but it sure can be a hell of a lot of fun.
@@blazerdc25 I mean if your using a KS-23 there isn't that much aiming to be needed and unless you just suck at aiming a single shell is usually enough with that one. A shotgun in general isn't hard to leg meta and in this wipe even headshot most people with. I also don't know why you'd switch to a shotgun when talking about SMG's. I'm just saying, most situations you're in when fightings scavs or players in general a headshot or face shot is more worthwhile. Leg meta doesn't always pan out when people are popping pain meds like candy and move around a lot more chaotically than scavs or bosses do.
Bro!!!! I turned the enhanced pointer precision off and I'm actually finding the game fun now! I can aim!! 😂 but seriously the same day I turned it off, I spun around 180 after hearing someone and got a headshot off before he could line his shot off. Then I blasted some level 18 dude with a night vision scope on an AK probably 16 times in the chest. He crawled into the bushes and bled out. Man he had loot I ain't ever even heard of. I need to figure out where people are getting this shit now that I'm more capable of surviving. It's literally all thanks to you, I couldn't aim for shit and that option did the trick
This has helped me greatly, as a new tarkov player I truly appreciate your guide videos. I was going to ask with the coming of the next wipe, maybe some pointers on doing some of the missions for newer players even. 10/10 content
I feel like a lot of people simply skip out on practice and just want to get straight into play, causing frustration. Def the best tip here; if you're frustrated the other players are so much better than you, this may be why. I'd also add that EFT handles recoil differently than many are used to. You don't have to control the recoil like in other FPS games as recoil control is one of the PMC stats and is built into the weapon mods. In typical CQC engagements, aiming at the chest or stomach and letting the recoil fly up to the head is viable and often times faster than trying to get the headshot on the first shot. Not having to control the recoil after this point makes it easier to make the fine adjustments to get onto the head if needed.
Yeah very true, no spray patterns to remember like Rust or other games have. I did very briefly mention aiming for the chest to kick up to head level at the end but maybe it was worth delving into just a bit more in the vid. Hope it helped nonetheless and thanks for the feedback
Good tips, Fox. One thing I would add. You can measure the distance your mouse travels across your mouse pad when you make a 180° turn once your aim feels good. This is the measure of your "muscle memory" that you can then transfer between games.
@@smarttarts That's another content creator, right? Well, not then. Sorry to disappoint you. I learned that from ChacoTaco. But he used a 360° turn measurement. That's a bit much for my mouse pad, though. 180° will do. ^^
Just changed the mouse setting after dying all afternoon. After changing it I killed 3 player scavs back to back and haven't died all evening out of the 7 raids we did. Thanks man
It should help once you're used to it. Enhanced kind of makes your mouse snap around just a little bit as it guesses where you want to go in Windows, but in FPS games it doesn't know what you 'want' it to do and doesn't always go right to the pixel you're aiming for, effectively just 'unlocking' your mouse pointer for lack of a better explanation
The hardest part is coming from controller to tarkov. I have recently moved to pc and i love competitive games, i liked to think i was quite good… on mouse and keyboard I’m an awful shot and still want to play high stakes games, but my aim is letting me down
You'll get the hang of it eventually. Once you're used to it, you have way more control with a mouse and keyboard. I never went back to console after really getting into PC gaming
If you can peek a angle to the right take it. Your gun comes out faster because Tarkov characters hold their gun on the right side of their body. Is the strat to still aim for the head and compensate it down, or should I be aiming at their chest, stomach, or lower and letting the gun do the work? Some of these guns(m4s with above 50 recoil), make it seem that id have to aim at their damn knees at certain distances to have any shot at hitting my enemies.
Yeah, some weapons if you intend to go full auto would work best with that strategy. Test them out at the shooting range in your hideout to get a feel for them.
ive been around since the early alpha days maby 8-10 wipes idk i dont really keep track, but my advise is sont dismiss a gun because you think its wierd. sometimes the gun you initally dislike the most could be your best friend. that happened for me when they initally introduced the SA-58
You'll get used to it pretty quick. It's like unlocking your mouse from making tiny auto snaps onto what it thinks you'll click on. Getting rid of that in FPS games is huge. Good luck!
Little tip. Get your sensitivity down while you're naked, then look at your turning speed penalty on what armor and helmet you're going to take in, and adjust your sensitivity accordingly.
U could add some of the fre aim trainers (browser based or steam based) Counter Strike has some an Aimtraining is good no matter what FPS game u play :D hehe Thumbs up on ur content Fox.
The Enhance Pointer Precision tip is super helpful and it annoys me greatly that something so fundamental to gaming, your aim, can get thrown off by not knowing this single bit of deep lore about Windows settings.
Enhance pointer precision literally only affects your cursor and has no affect on your aim whatsoever though? Tarkov, like most other modern shooters, uses the raw input from the mouse for aiming
Sure, blue lasers give positions away, buy I see 2Lew use them a lot. Someone sees laser, they stop. He turns laser off, enemy walks around corner right into his crosshairs; probably assuming he turned away to walk to cover.
@@xmapa4677 okay so in extreme CQB yes the laser will give you away when you are at a corner but out in the open that laser could be coming from ANYWHERE its nothing more than a big ole dot on a wall. Yes when you have a laser you are more likely to spook someonebut realistically they have zero idea where that laser is coming from. The benefit outweighs the downfall by a lot.
Depends what you're using. Higher ergo will help reduce sway and the time it takes to raise the gun when you aim. Holding breath reduces this further. I do it in any fight where it feels like I have the time. In super CQB, I'm usually firing from the shoulder anyway (not aiming down sight)
first of all: you always want your aim and hipfire sensitivity to be the same. having them at different sensitivities is stupid and will only cause you to die more second of all: great video. thanks for the tips, and yea i personally think the whole "gear changes your sensitivity" thing is really dumb and that BSG should drop it from the game. im not talking about the weight mechanics or inertia, just the fact that taking different gear changes your mouse speed. doesnt make any sense from a gaming or realism standpoint.
I just would like to know what your DPI is? Wanting to try something new and like to match others who's playstyles are similar to my own. I am currently playing at 400Dpi but curious as to what yours is?

@@SwampFoxTV same mate. 1.6 was the shit. Im 39. So yeah i know what u mean. Hehe i have been gaming fps games for 25 years at least. And much more. Hehe
The point was to see how quickly you can do a 180 and turn from getting ambushed and practice how that 180 feels with your preferred loadout. Sorry, thought I'd made that clear in the video. Your gear partially determines your turn speed
@@SwampFoxTV not that part, I'm talking when you engage a player/npc. You shoot, then turn to run away only to turn and head right back to where you were. Watch the video when you shoot at players
Some good advice, i personally like jessekazam's approach with the simple aim drills he demonstrated in one of his videos on improving aim using the shooting range in the hideout. Of course this requires progreasion to the point you can build the shooting range but i like the simplicity in the drills he showed
New player to the game, sure would be great if there was a target range I could actually access as a new player, rather than requiring 1000 hours to get the god damn pieces to make it to use :D Really no surprise that the game has a dying playerbase with all the hackers, the fact that 90% of the time my deaths are happening to people in groups and the lack of "training" at all (Because how can I get better if even a scav can kill me?)
With all due respect, the game isn't dying at all. That may be your impression, but it's just not accurate. The hacker situation will always be present with any online shooter, with some ebb and flow, but not nearly as bad as most people think. There's a lot of newer folks that often can't understand what angle they got shot from and just assume hacks etc.. or confuse them for desync, which unfortunately most online shooters also suffer from. If you're at the point where you're losing even to basic scavs though, I would practice more in offline mode with the scavs turned on and slowly increase their difficulty each time until you're more comfortable with it.
I really dislike that in Tarkov to have decent ergonomics I have to carry some disgusting bubbu'd ass gun instead of an actual effective weapon this is by far the most unrealistic aspect of the game
Wait, so your sad that you can't just throw all the lowest recoil parts on a gun and have a laser beam with no downside? Even in real life there is a significant difference in both ability to manipulate and recoil impulse between a 13" and a 20" barrel/setup on a weapon. More importantly, this is just simple game balance. Recoil meta has been a thing since the games inception, having a compromise is important for any game balance. If you can suspend your disbelief that a slightly different shaped stock can significant affect recoil reduction, you can do the same thing for the ergonomics.
Actually the first bullet will always hit pretty much dead center with any weapon if you're not moving, pending any stamina/arm damage issues etc... You can try it out in the hideout; just find your center point and target the heads of the targets there
Enhance pointer precision (and other forms of windows mouse acceleration) should not have any affect on your aim. Tarkov uses raw mouse input. Just switch the setting on and off you’ll notice no difference in your aiming but a ton of difference in your stash management, or any other time you are using the cursor (this is the only case where mouse acceleration applies…same with other games like fortnite, apex, cod, etc…)
I mean just turn it on for a sec and you’ll see. You’ll notice you will have trouble managing your inventory and dragging items around… but you will still be able to click on heads
In Tarkov, at least currently, your gun is always shouldered, so most people refer to it as 'point firing' in this game as you're never holding your gun lower toward the hip. I imagine in the future we probably won't always be walking around with our guns shouldered since it's pretty unnatural

This is what I have needed and waiting for…
Hope it helps!
ive been around since the early alpha days maby 8-10 wipes idk i dont really keep track, but my advise is sont dismiss a gun because you think its wierd. sometimes the gun you initally dislike the most could be your best friend. that happened for me when they initally introduced the SA-58
I unchecked that checkbox... feels a little weird in Windows but we'll see if it helps in-game :P
Omg! This is amazing your awesome!
Thank you!
Amazing! thanks
Happy to help!
GREAT VIDEO
Another tip is to go on something like offline factory and warm up before games by going for headshots only on scavs.
Indeed!
Finally a guide on how to click heads
Ha, yeah I guess at the end of the day that's what this is
Just want to say thank you because of this all my Fps are actually playable now
Happy to help!
@@SwampFoxTV just got my first pc last night and I've now had 6 successful games I say it was the mouse trick.
very helpful
Happy to help!
U could add some of the fre aim trainers (browser based or steam based) Counter Strike has some an Aimtraining is good no matter what FPS game u play :D hehe Thumbs up on ur content Fox.
the pointer precision made me realize tarkov doesnt have a mouse acceleration toggle like many other fps games
The Enhance Pointer Precision tip is super helpful and it annoys me greatly that something so fundamental to gaming, your aim, can get thrown off by not knowing this single bit of deep lore about Windows settings.
Happy to help!
Enhance pointer precision literally only affects your cursor and has no affect on your aim whatsoever though?
Tarkov, like most other modern shooters, uses the raw input from the mouse for aiming
This would probably save my life daily. I should stop being lazy
I’m playing catch-up on your videos.
Welcome back!
Sure, blue lasers give positions away, buy I see 2Lew use them a lot. Someone sees laser, they stop. He turns laser off, enemy walks around corner right into his crosshairs; probably assuming he turned away to walk to cover.
Yeah there are for sure some possible good uses for the laser; and I agree it's not always bad when someone spots it 👍
@@SwampFoxTV Personally, I don't use it. I especially dislike how big it gets at long range.
Why does my weapon sway soooo much while ads? I can't hit or track anything. Also does holding breath help alot? Viable in combat or just sniping?
Depends what you're using. Higher ergo will help reduce sway and the time it takes to raise the gun when you aim. Holding breath reduces this further. I do it in any fight where it feels like I have the time. In super CQB, I'm usually firing from the shoulder anyway (not aiming down sight)
Those labs kills….bruhhhh deleted’em! 🔥🔥
I definitely didn't die later that raid. 😏
Who is this guy and why are his videos so good? Worse yet, why am I just now seeing them?!
Welcome!
first of all: you always want your aim and hipfire sensitivity to be the same. having them at different sensitivities is stupid and will only cause you to die more
second of all: great video. thanks for the tips, and yea i personally think the whole "gear changes your sensitivity" thing is really dumb and that BSG should drop it from the game. im not talking about the weight mechanics or inertia, just the fact that taking different gear changes your mouse speed. doesnt make any sense from a gaming or realism standpoint.
I just would like to know what your DPI is? Wanting to try something new and like to match others who's playstyles are similar to my own. I am currently playing at 400Dpi but curious as to what yours is?
I play at 1800dpi which is likely higher than most. I'm just used to it now and I play a lot of CQC like Factory so I like it for reactive plays
@@SwampFoxTV Thanks man! Didn't expect a reply but awesome you did! I assumed it was 800 for you and so I went up and actually fell in love with it haha!
swamp fox goat
Hope it helped!
@@SwampFoxTV your videos always do 🤝 thanks a lot buddy! 💪
I always run a laser just because I like them - I was so surprised when I got to the recoil reduction part.
great tips, thanks
I cant get my sensitivity to go below .11 whyy? Please help me
Lead your shots!
Looks like u have played Counter Strike. :D same things i tell new people that come to me and ask for help. :D and the same things i was taught when i started gaming Counter Strike 20 years ago :D Aim training is everything if u wanna maintain high performance and get them easy Headshots :D hehehe GG on a video i had in mind to make. (i will share this instead from now on!)
I played Counter-Strike, as in, the original before Source haha (I'm old af)
@@SwampFoxTV same mate. 1.6 was the shit. Im 39. So yeah i know what u mean. Hehe i have been gaming fps games for 25 years at least. And much more. Hehe
How much do you think this will change after they add the inertia??
nothing will change your just gonna move slower
why do you take off running away to only turn and go right back? why not just back up a little, then go back?
For the Algorithm!
Thank you
i find that clicking on my target usually ends up with them dying
Amazing tip, thank you!
@@Phillz91 thats all fine and good but do all the effective parts have to look like my drunk hick uncle ordered them off amazon for his Anderson
@@Phillz91 He just means that when you fit for ergo the result is: LOOK HOW THEY MASSACRED MY BOY!
Easiest way for me is just get 7 days to die very close in how guns work and thats just aim training
Is putting a crosshair sticker on my monitor cheating? Cause I'm definitely trying it out if my aim exercises ain't enough.
doesnt work on tarkov bullets dont hit anywhere near the center of the screen
Actually the first bullet will always hit pretty much dead center with any weapon if you're not moving, pending any stamina/arm damage issues etc... You can try it out in the hideout; just find your center point and target the heads of the targets there
I'm not sure; a gray area at best and maybe not allowed by Tarkov's TOS. I'm not sure how much it would help really tbh
@@SwampFoxTV I dont mean like using a program, I mean like an actual physical sticker I stick on my monitor lol
Ah yes, Tarkov aim labs
Enhance pointer precision (and other forms of windows mouse acceleration) should not have any affect on your aim. Tarkov uses raw mouse input. Just switch the setting on and off you’ll notice no difference in your aiming but a ton of difference in your stash management, or any other time you are using the cursor (this is the only case where mouse acceleration applies…same with other games like fortnite, apex, cod, etc…)
It 'should not' have an effect as you said, but it does. You'll notice plenty of people in the comments saying it helped as well.
@@SwampFoxTV placebo
I mean just turn it on for a sec and you’ll see. You’ll notice you will have trouble managing your inventory and dragging items around… but you will still be able to click on heads
You completely missed that weapon weight affects ADS and stamina, and that character weight changes movement speed
How to aim in EFT
1. 50 round drum
2. lowest recoil configuration
3. Max str
4. Turn corner and hipfire better
Hip-fire*
In Tarkov, at least currently, your gun is always shouldered, so most people refer to it as 'point firing' in this game as you're never holding your gun lower toward the hip. I imagine in the future we probably won't always be walking around with our guns shouldered since it's pretty unnatural
Mosin
Try to crouch when you can
Hi

HAving 5 vertical recoil helps
26 seconds into the vid and i already failed, mouse settings stopped responding when i clicked apply XD
Don't like the thumb down guy...hope he gets banned.
Comes with the territory :D
Have my babies.

Just hit the kovaaks it’s that simple if u can afford tarkov u definitely can afford kovaaks defo
