There seems to be a problem with the junction before the roundabout in the new southern connection to the highway. The buses should be able to just go through but they instead turn to the sides and then U turn back into the main road, maybe the lanes aren't set up correctly?

I have autism, so I understand it, and I do the same, but I also want to smack people with a keyboard, and I understand they want to smack me with a keyboard when this happens.😂
They need to change the tile permits. There should be two tiers. One is a zoning permit, the others is a road permit, which should have no tile upkeep.

A small tip: You can build the preset intersection right on top of the already built highway and it’ll delete and connect things! Try it out :)

27:53 the power line in the middle of the road is why the markings were not showing up.😂
29:00 you placed the school _exactly_ central, but the gap in the zoning _wasn't_ central, so when you built the link road in that gap it wasn't lined up in the middle, which is why it all went pear shaped.
With the level of detail of tents, cardboard boxes and fire pits showing up in random places it cannot be a bug. Someone in a office in Finland has programmed this to happen. After all this is the country that uses tower cranes to build single story houses that don't have any driveways.
The homeless bug doesn't have anything to do with the prop placement, it has to do with the homeless behaviour. Even when you place new zoning in abundance, the homeless people will just stand in place in front of their old residences idling without ever getting a new place. Creates some pretty weird imbalances

Ah, I feel you, Biffa. I too have keratoconus in one eye and had a corneal transplant once it got too bad. Finding a specialist that can get you the contacts you need can be quite a chore, and expensive. Fortunately, my insurance covers the contacts as "medically necessary."
Hope you get everything straightened out.
ETA: I called my contacts my "eye bra" since it held my droopy cornea into the right shape. 😆

8:40 in a more real world the rail crossing would stay level and the road would do an under pass. Railroads tend to have priority right of way and have already invested in being on very mild slopes.

For the cargo train terminal, you could remove the very sharp turn (a train wouldn't be able to make that turn) and build a single track siding on the other side of the bridge over the highway. This way trains could still exit the yard, cross the highway, pull into the siding, then reverse back into the cargo train teeminal.
Been over 40c here so not been playing games myself last few days so its lovely to have this series to keep me sane!
11:45 that road is still broken it seems, the trucks are using the dirt slip lanes rather than just continue straight on
Nice. The rail freight trains thing: you could just add a reversing siding off the main line... a twoway single track branched off and running parallel for slightly longer than the length of a full train. They work nicely, having balls up a placement myself and having to work out how to get the trains in without leaving the map to "reverse" back... wha hae!
I wish they gave more intersections cause i am too lazy to make them myself. I just modify existing ones XD
Also I always remove the roundabout and add it back later when adding roads to keep it where it should be.

ooooh ... not sure about that super tight obtuse curve on the rails that you did near the end! I don't think the loco would make it IRL.
If the homeless bug actually works and has a reasoning, then I love it. For example, you have to much demand for residential, prices will go up and people won't be able to afford their houses anymore and turn homeless. A good extra detail you have manage in your city to make sure everybody is happy and has a house...
The bug is homeless keep on increasing and increasing whatever you do. The way it should work is more based on what you do in the city :-)
I also have keratoconus so I completely understand the frustration with it all, sometimes it feels like if you don’t laugh you’ll cry 😂
A 40 min pleasure to watch and laugh with you building in CS2! I never expect your funny remarks while you are building but I always walk away with a smile on my face!! Lovely build 🤩

Luckily I only have it in one I and already did the corneal cross-linking to stop it to progress a couple of years ago.
I tried the special contact lenses for a couple of month but I can't get used to them. so I'm back to normal glasses even though I cant see much in that one eye.
The specialist told me about a new treatment (CAIRS) and I think I might try that. I have to talk to them during my next regular scheduled appointment for more details.

Am a little surprised you didn't lengthen the curve from the depot so it curves slightly into the cargo station but it appears to work as is.
While I like how the elementary school design turned out, I'm not sure about its placement within the city. It's a very American design as of right now. The way you've designed it, it's basically only accessible by car and on foot from the nearby houses. In the future, it really needs a bus line. I think a more central placement within the district would make more sense
Roundabouts are not easy on buses bc of the sharp turns!!! Maybe you could provide a bulb with a larger radius

In the snapping choices you really need to uncheck the one that's 3rd from the end that looks like a crosshair and it won't break zoning when drawing out roads along as you stay at 180 / 90 degree's

Hello fellow Kerataconus sufferer ;) I also have it (in both eyes) So far tried hard/soft contact lenses (no good too uncomfortable) ICRS (intercorneal rings) one fragmented after 5 months and protruded through the cornea leaving more scar tissue, they were fitted in 2020 and removed in 2021 and have been waiting for eye to stabilise ever since, which isn't going great, cross linking will likely be next or cornea transplant!
Sorry to hear of all the trouble you've had, I hope something good gets sorted soon for you.

I too have keratoconus. I was contact intolerant. So they installed "Intacts", rings they insert into the eye to help flatten the bulge. My eyes were saved with this procedure.
I have keratoconus on my right eye. The contacts are so expensive that I just have my glasses prescription optimized for my left eye, which has astigmatism lol
Yeah it can be a right pain getting both eyes balanced!

Love the episode, Keep it up :) Hope your eyes get sorted out soon . Didn't know you had the same condition as me with your eyes, its a very rare thing to have . I've had mine for about 8/9 years and had cross linking done a few years back. I had keratoconus in my left eye and then it went onto my right eye, I had cross liking done in my left eye but not my right eye yet. I seem to be getting on with it now and also wearing glasses has helped me out.
if you want to make your city realistic you might want to use churches.and maybe you can make several villages instead of one very big city.
but everything else looks very nice keep up the good work👍😎

As an Xbox player I have been lucky in being able to play CS2 on games pass ultimate on my laptop but when building roads with my OCD you could probably imagine what it's like for me when I can't get the roads to join at a 90° angle 😂.

I'm not sure about these zonable roundabouts you know, only cause ive never actually seen one irl. But Brewburgh coming along very nicely only slight change i do is where you connected the last new road on the housing estate that was connected very close to the main rd junction, i would have sent that up to connect into the next housing estate rd parallel to the road all the housing estate roads connect to, just to make sure theere is no issues on the main rd later on as it gets busier.
I think the reasoning behind it was that a lot of people were using the roundabouts as the ends of cul-de-sacs but then not able to build any houses at them.

@@charlesingram9471 You might not remember it but it does make them all look a little 'Knots Landing' It's a shame the zoning is so rigid. There are plenty of examples of rounded streets with townhouses and tenements where I live. That would make some of the more bendy and rounded roads like a bit more real, to me anyway.
One thing about the economy 2.0 patch I can't seem to figure out is why all my low density residents have wretched wealth. I have the tool tip mod, and my medium density is all poor, moderate or even wealthy or something like that. But the wealth of my low density household is almost all wretched. It just doesn't make any sense.

I'm gonna be that guy and ask - if the game looks this good at first person level, why does it take a mod to see it? Why wouldn't Paradox be flaunting the hell out of this? This is an area where CS2 genuinely does outshine it's predecessor! That looks AWESOME! CS1 doesn't even come closed at street level!
Maybe they block it because being at ground level is more demanding on the hardware? Would that even make sense?
On a side note, I still find it uncomfortable that homelessness is a mechanic. That is not an aspect of realism I want in my fantasy dream city that I try to build. If I am a God-Emeror, why can't I just build houses for these people??????? I have money, let me use it on building them houses!

Biffa, remember the bug I showed if you want to build tracks or a highway on top of a road, where suddenly you couldn't build further because of a bug. Is there a mod to undo this ?

I bring this up because I had to seek out many ophthalmologists before finding someone to treat me. It's a degenerative eye condition; it's gonna get worse if not properly treated. I was young when I got it, which is rare, but because it's a condition common in older people, many ophthalmologists don't properly treat it.
Some ophthalmologists seem hesitant to suggest surgery. CXL is available at some laser eye centers; please consider asking about it.

I will be honest, I love they added homelessness (god that sounds awful), it's another very real aspect of big cities that pushes you to improve them...
No city is all clean after all, perhaps you can unlock ways to take care of homeless people later down the road

people my not have like the last simcity game but it did do stuff right like the electricity water and upgrading buildings but also how you zone buildings I really do prefer how you zone in that game it was so much easier and better

It's not that there's homeless, but the bug will eventually mean there are 1000's of homeless, which is not intended in the gameplay 👍
Hey, I got diagnosed with Kerataconus two years ago. Did you get crosslinking done?
I didn't as it wasn't really needed. At a certain point things do stop getting worse so you just need a lense that fits well and works for you :-)
