I like this song because it shows that the concepts of happy and sad aren't tied to modality. The song was already minor and you made it go from happy to sad and it's still minor.
Fly me to the moon is in a minor key, it's in the key of Am
@@jeffgrim3244 i know i'm saying that originally the song was warm despite being on a minor key, so pianodeuss was forced to do other things like change the chord progression and voices and stuff, in order to make it sad
Every chord he changed was a suspension or minor. Hate to break it to you i know what you mean, but this isnt that example
@A bird that's filled with rage great point. Everything aside, this man's rendition of this song is still rather pleasing on the ear, is definitely a significant change to the song, and we can all appreciate that.
@@Greatbabyred What voices? Its only on the piano for the song. If your referring to lack of singer part and instead played piano sure, still odd statement. Nearly all songs sang are simply better by instruments. You do have stand out songs with singing but over all not many truly requiring words.
I like it a lot, but I also appreciate the original ending. Something about it felt that it was really fitting for the end of each episode. Somehow it felt depressing yet fulfilling at the same time. It is like a small break from the show itself, but also reminding you that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
Yup, I also think the original version fits better, íts calmness and that tiny glint of out-of-place cheeriness really vibes well with the episodes' tones. This is cool, but also kinda trying too hard to be all dark and depressio

As a pianist myself, this is what studying impossible classical pieces won’t teach you: expression. Playing a song and giving it a specific mood is no joke, and you did a fantastic job.
coff coff chopin has expression and dynamics for DAYS.
yeah, most of them wouldn't understand, it isn't only about technique, it's about you being the best version of yourself through chords and notes

@@JoaoPedro-kp5px actually, a lot of the time, classical music is about how the musician plays it. it's not just you playing the notes that's gonna make it sound good. there is a lot of musicality behind interpreting those composers compositions.

I don't know Evangelion, but I know Sinatra and I really love this cover! It's so pretty, but it also gives you chills. If that fits Evangelion, then I'd say you totally nailed it!
It starts off as a giant robot show, the characters are sort of messed up, then about halfway through the show takes more a psychological turn and things get worse ... SO MUCH worse! Also some highly effective and very messed up use of classical music, like the scene with the Hallelujah chorus. Don't look that one up if you want to watch it at some point.

I'll be honest, this version matches eveengelion's mood perfectly, but it's also the song a nocturnal sociopathic killer would play as they go completely off the rails as cops storm their fancy mansion/Castle
The End of an Empire, prohibition raid scene, the entire city alight with staccato, and the villain slips the noose, and drops something off the train as they go over the river.

This definitely gave me that sad, depressed feeling that Eva gives us all, but at the same time, it was also so beautiful... Great job at capturing the essence of the story

While the minor key can easily portray sadness, using the Major key (typical for happy songs) was brilliant here because it gives the feeling of a deep mourning. Like thinking of something that was once happy...but is gone forever

Hearing this song is, for some reason, making me feel nostalgic of Evangelion. It makes me remember how, in a way, sad it was, but at the same time, gave a feeling of fullness. So beautiful.
This song makes me feel like I'm mourning the loss of a lover... While remembering all the memories I spent with that person... Though, it's like as the song moves on, it drags you with it... forward.

to be fair, what he does is turning the music from a major key into a minor one and uses harmonic minor to resolve, also adds a bunch of reverb which makes it "dark and sad", which is not precisely hard nor something incredible from outer space, of course his arranges are good and he's indeed a good musician, but with all the respect he deserves, I wouldn't compare him to Liszt or Mozart.

This tells a story where a villain fell in love with a person but died tragically months after the heroin of the story tried saving the people from something which affected the villains loved one (in some way) and the villain tried to avenge the death of this person who he or she once loved. This piece gives me a beautiful but tragic and chaotic love story. Huhuhuhu
I've been in voice training for about six years now and I've been working on a sound similar to Frank Sinatra. I've gone to competition with his version of Fly Me to the Moon, but I never felt like I could put the emotion I wanted into the song, but when I heard your cover of this song I finally felt like I could sing it with what's in my heart. As soon as I get the chance to I want to purchase the sheet music and perform it wherever I can.

Terrific reimagining! I'll never listen to this song again without thinking of this version. I love the way you keep shifting tempos. In a perfect world they'd reissue EVA using this as their ED.

This is actually really dark and eerie. I love it. I could definitely see this being used in one of the episodes for Evangelion for the ending.

what i love about this version, is that it feels lonely and longing in comparison to the Eva version that is more of a break from all the existential questions and stresses.
it gives me this scenario
an old wind-up music box playing this piece, while you're sitting on a couch on the porch, looking aimlessly in the gray afternoon rain, all alone, with no-one to call let alone lean to, memories of your recent interactions with other people, questioning if what you have shown was truly you or nothing more but a facade, longing for somebody, something, to recognize your existence, and lift you from this place.
I can imagine an Eva tearing through angel after angel to this song before ultimately succumbing to its own wounds.
actually the regular fly me to the moon fits evangelions vibe perfectly well
I feel like this is what would play for a character that was initially good but slowly throughout the song they get progressively more sad and evil.

I love that outro, I feel like it's an omage to those psychological piano pieces in Evangelion.
This showed up in my recommended and is now on my funeral music list. I love fly me to the moon, but always thought it to be a bit too happy sounding and this perfectly converts it to a neutral/sad version. (I also adore evangelion, which fitted nicely with the piece)
I think the whole Evangelion vibe is showing really dark story on top of a positive music.

As a pianist whose father has battled MS for 20 years I wish you the best of luck. MS is downright horrible to endure, but those who fight it are the strongest, and most brave souls I know. Keep your head high.
Let me start off by saying, I love this arrangement and I really like your channel. However, I feel like the piece that hit the hardest in Evangelion are the more subdued pieces(besides the OP, but that's literally the best anime tune ever). I could see this in like, a more gothic style show. Still an amazing arrangement, it hits DIFFERENT.
Many scenes from the series came to my mind as I listened, this is flawless.
I just bought a new computer for the first time in 16 years. I always choose songs or videos or anime to be my first or last when arriving or leaving a place or in this case finally splurging on very good PC equipment. This video was suggested at exactly the right time, and I wasn't disappointed. You've got yourself a subscriber for life. even though it was just hands and some pretty cg effects, I wept at my first high def video that didn't display at a paltry 12 frame a second. Thank You!
