Thank you to whomever posted this historical video. It's beautiful to watch TS Szasz calmly fire his deadly-accurate rhetorical bullets though the heart of psychiatry yet again -in this case, proving that the APA is a political lobby.
@@Darren-u7t You refer to the notion that a person _is_ his behaviour? I don’t know; perhaps Dr Szasz would ask what you mean by ‘is’. A person who is not behaving in any way -say, a comatose man- nonetheless still ‘is’, thus behavior and being (ie, is) are not synonymous.
What made you call Ellis stupid? Where is he disagreeing with Szasz that homosexuality is NOT a mental illness rather a socially-agreed (in some powerful circles) deviance? And that this thinking is on its way to changing just like our stance on dyslexia?
@@Tutor4Hire Your response was equally stupid. Reason and ethics are not measured by diplomas or professional associations. What university did Aristotle attend? Of what profession was Camus a member?
@@Tutor4Hire The idea that degrees and a successful career are evidence of wisdom is also stupid. What university did Socrates attend? His wisdom is acknowledged millennia on, although diminishingly so among badly educated people. Shakespeare couldn’t get a job teaching English in a credentialist society.
I wish we still followed this form of open argumentation.

You're welcome
Yet Ellis was right.
How did szasz defend argument that in case consistently engage in a behavior then you are that😊

Wonderful! Thanks.
Amazing.
But Ellis ideas won. We are all irrational if we are afraid. Szasz was an inconvenient genius.
Ellis was surprisingly stupid, and Szasz was characteristically brilliant.

Can you compare your educational or professional record to the one you call stupid?
Nothing is ever “settled”

Why are you splitting this video and posting it as parts? It is unnecessary and annoying.
Maybe it helps to focus on the particular issues in that section?
