Actin Polymerisation

Spontaneous formation of actin microfilaments from globular actin monomers as it might occur within a eukaryotic cell. I produced this video as a component of my job application for a position at CSIRO which I hope to get.
The animation was made in 5 days using Blender 2.65 and After Effects CS5.5. My aim for this project was to produce a short animation depicting a molecular biology process in a short time frame. The intention was to make a high quality bio-medical animation to demonstrate my skills in depicting scientific phenomena through animation.

Edit: 26.12.12: I changed the music in this video to something less cavernous and less sinister. I wanted the feeling from the video to be more fluid, if that makes sense.
