    great, but who are managing the process of acting filament development? Who coordinates all the creation of filaments and the links between them in order to achieve an objective such as movement?

    You mention that ATP is exchanged for ADP in the recruiting step, however it is written as ATP hydrolysis on the screen. Which is correct?

    • @gemmashastri5217
      @gemmashastri5217 2 роки тому

      Sorry, which is the correct option?

    • @shaheenessack1008
      @shaheenessack1008 2 роки тому

      Hi Gemma. ATP hydrolysis refers to the dephosphorylation of ATP into ADP which is how it is "exchanged". ATP hydrolysis is more correct as it isn't actually exchanged but converted.

    what happens if i add more actin monomers? does the critical concentration grow???

    • @animatedbiologywitharpan
      @animatedbiologywitharpan  2 роки тому

      Critical concentration is a threshold value beyond which there will be polymerization.

    • @gooreum2023

      @@animatedbiologywitharpan thanks! so even if i add more actin monomers the critical concentration stays the same?

    Can actin filament form without an actin filament?

    • @animatedbiologywitharpan
      @animatedbiologywitharpan  2 роки тому +1

      Small amount of primer is needed.The first step in actin polymerization is known as 'nucleation'. Here the formation of an actin nucleus takes place, which is essentially a complex of three actin monomers, from which an actin filament may elongate.

      GUYTON OR GANONG are the 2 options
      Guyton explains everything really well. There's a thorough explanation for most concepts in there. However sometimes it tends to get long-winded. There's some things which need to be explained in one line and left as such, for a crystal clear idea about it.
      Ganong is a very concise book and a better read if you have a fairly good idea about what's going on already. It needs to be read carefully because the sentences are nuanced and you may pick up several facts from a single line. It does manage to go into a little too much depth sometimes.

      Oh thank you for answering me.
      I have searched a lot about actin polymerization so I will ask you many things:
      1. Polymerization occurs on the two ends?
      2. Disassembly occurs just on the minus end? I saw many diagrams : some say it happens on the two ends and some on the minus
      3. Disassembly occurs just when we reach to a specific concentration or when the minus end has ADP Actin
      Am so sorry for my long questions
