These are "Questionably Canon", as far as it goes. They fit, and don't contradict anything..... but yeah, episodes 5 + 6 come between Episode III and Rebels.

Ah, heard the last episodes take a jump in the timeline, waiting to watch them after Clone Wars.

@@benspiller Watching TotJ episodes 5 & 6 together works fine, especially since watching each of them separately would make for an especially short reaction.
Having said that, if you want to lean hard into watching chronologically episode 5 ideally should be watched immediately after finishing Clone Wars.
Episode 6 does not have a specific timeframe. The events of the episode itself, as well as the events of "Rebels" lead one to believe it happens AT LEAST two to three years after RotS and two to three years before Rebels. (BBY 16 to BBY 08, a nine year window) With this in mind it probably falls after "The Bad Batch" in the timeline but before "Obi-Wan Kenobi."
FYI, you probably already know this but just in case, "Rebels" and "Andor" both begin in BBY 05 while "Solo" and "Obi-Wan Kenobi both take place four years previously in BBY 09.

The sad thing about Dooku is that all he did, he did out of conviction. He truly believed he was going to improve the Galaxy.
And Palpatine manipulated him into becoming his apprentice and many more atrocities, playing on his sense of duty.

Tales is such a beauty and the stories are so relevant to the overall Star Wars IP. The lighting is perfectly used here as an extra element of the storytelling, how light and shadow inform us of the characters' intentions, wonderful. Great reactions!

This is really interesting order you are experiencing SW in. I took my son to see the Clone Wars Movie in 2008 when he was 8. I was not impressed. But that was just the beginning. Clone Wars is one of the best rides there is! May the force be with you!

Yeah, the Clone Wars movie was a little slow but from the episodes of Clone Wars I've recorded, it's been really good, can't wait to see where it all ends up 😁

"You're a much wiser man than I am" is a line Qui-Gon later repeats to Obi-Wan.

Ahsoka is a member of the Tagruta species. As you can see here, the "white markings" start out as dots, and form later as they grow to adulthood. I forget what the "head tails" are called (and I'm sure someone will mention what they are called), but they are not "hair".
9:06 - It's not an outright "control" over the animal, but more like "connect" with it through The Force, become its friend, and it will help you. And no, this isn't "new"....but it's one of the early signs a child can demonstrate that they are Force Sensitive.
8:50 - Yes, this is.... at a guess (I don't know if there's a "canon" year)... but I'd say about 2-4 years before Phantom Menace? As I said, I'm guessing, just by estimating her age during the Clone Wars. I pegged her at about 12-14. Which really, isn't THAT much younger than Anakin (who was 19 in Attack of the Clones).
10:30 - Yeah. Clone Wars was made years before this, and in fact, was made before Disney bought Star Wars.... so the early animation IS "good", but does get "fantastic" by the end. In order of release, it was Clone Wars, (Disney purchase), Rebels, The Bad Batch, and Tales of the Jedi. But yes, the animation does improve the newer they get. Which is why I'm "all in" on any new animated stuff they make.
11:20 - Gonna just come right out and say it here: That's (soon to be Count) Jedi Master Dooku, and his Padawan Qui-Gon Jinn. Dooku is still a member of the Jedi order at this point. I'm not sure exactly when this episode occurs, either.
Post episode: Okay, yeah, you figured it out. I just looked up the episode list, and you can watch the next 2 episodes without spoilers for what you haven't seen. However, the final 2 episodes deal with Ahsoka again, and you'll want to have gotten through the first 6 seasons of Clone Wars before watching them.

    • @benspiller
      @benspiller  Рік тому +2

Thanks so much, the Tagrute species just look so cool to me, love the alternative thing on their head instead of hair.
That makes so much more sense now, I got very confused about the whole animal control which I do mention in the first Clone Wars videos but I like how it's a specified ability and now I just can't wait to see more of it, just felt odd without any explanation 😂.
Oh, that's really interesting, I didn't know the show was made before Dinsey's purchase, I just assumed it was the kinda thing to air on Dinsey Channel or something.
Cannot wait to see where this animation ends up, I have seen the first bits of the Clone Wars now and the style is a lot better than I thought so can only imagine what it might become.
Ohh, knew I couldn't what the last two episodes but didn't know they were about Ahsoka, though looking at the format of the show being about two Jedi it does seem a little obvious 😂, got me very excited for them now since I do like her character after the Clone Wars movie, but I'm really hoping they improve some things about her so very looking forward to seeing those two episodes after the Clone Wars 😁😁

      @@benspiller *thinking*.....
How much to tell you..... okay, how about "no details"? heh. Ahsoka starts out (as you've seen in the Clone Wars movie) REALLY annoying. BUT.... she is a flawed character, who, through trials and training, comes into her own.
In a way, knowing the "timeline" of things gives away SOME spoilers, if you think about them. But know that you'll still have a lot to look forward to see how it all plays out.
IIRC, Clone Wars DID air on Disney XD back in the day (one of the reasons I thought it was a "kids show", and didn't watch it until many years later). But, as the guys over on the Struggle Nation reaction channel keep saying, "This is a KIDS show?! HOW?!" lol They're just going through the series now, too. I think it was rated TV-7, so it was for kids age 7 and up..... but it can get kinda dark when it wants to.

@@benspillergood for you that you did that. I'm currently binging your Clone Wars reactions and I very strongly recommend that you watch Rebels after Clone Wars, before The Bad Batch, even if you brake the chronological order, trust me, this is the best way to go. I'm sure many people must've told that by now.

@@benspiller Ooh, I can’t wait to watch your reactions! I’m not sure if you’re aware of this or not, but there’s a specific chronological episode order. I highly recommend that you follow said order. You can very easily find it online. I would’ve put a link to it, but the UA-cam comments don’t seem to like that.
I hope you enjoy Clone Wars! It’s honestly a spectacular show.

I can’t blame Dooku for losing faith in the Republic after seeing this, the corruption is just too deep. I hope that the senator’s son doesn’t become like his father if he also becomes a senator.

@@benspiller I love episode 7, 8 and 9 are the ones that have upset people. 8 mostly and 9 tries to go back to follow 7 as if 8 didn't happen. JJ Abrams directed 7 and another director 8 (Rian Johnson I believe) and there wasn't much of a plan to work the trilogy together, he just did his own thing. and then JJ Abrams came back for 9, and said ehh...I'm just gonna ignore 8. So it was just bad planning. There are some awesome things in Last Jedi. Loved 1/2 of it. And 9 had great moments but as a whole there were problems in both. But I enjoyed watching them.
