Since I’m approaching 60 I can say it’s refreshing to see young dudes playing instrumental music at such a high level. I consider this fusion in the same realm as Holdsworth, Bruford, etc... too bad most people could give a shit. Fantastic and inspirational...well done mates!
It’s “Prog Rock” but anyway, similar in some sense I guess.
I mean, prog rock but he def has jazz fusion influences !
Mid 50s here. I know exactly what you're saying. We need more bands like this!
Shine some light on that drummer, dudes. Chris Allison is one of the stars here!
I feel bad for him. He is not even presented to the audience.
I love seeing how dialed in he and Simon are. Hard as hell to keep time signatures like this and if you don't have a tight rhythm section there's no point in Jake and Plini even trying to drive it.
No Shit ! The Dude's a Beast
EXACTLY!
@@999kafka well he does get a drum solo and Plini says his name at one point at least. But yea as a former drummer i get you.
that harmonics ending of kind is sick
Fab band. I'm 60 and love them.
This who show is amazing. But the end, when those three are wailing together, it's a thing of beauty. And that bassist! Damn, what a talent. Everyone on that stage is phenomenal.
You know whats cool...Plini's back up guitarist is also a fucking legend. Lastly, this video is excellent Koality, thanks for the upload!
Koality.....lol!
Jake Howsam Lowe for anyone wondering!!
This is basically 1 hour long masterclass.
24:44 this Chris' solo is fkn awesome
They are pure fkn CLASS!!! Incredible musicians Chris Allison it's a mindblowing drummer & Plini it's just a new guitar god. Young people needs to dig on Al Di Meola, Pat Metheny, or Greg Howe. There's no guitarist nowadays doing what PLINI is doing, not even Satriani or Vai.
I m here for Simon
Love his bass
One of the best concerts I have ever been to. Plini - what a treasure
Other Things was other wordly. Amazing performance.
This puts me in another dimension
I’ve lost count how many times I’ve watched this now. Thanks so much for sharing it :) 👍
What an astonishing presentation.... it fastly became my favorite full concert video
Daaaaaaaamn, thanks for grabbing this one!! Best quality recording of a gig I wanted to experience again that I've found on youtube!
i love this!!!!!!! thx for all Plini
19:50 Selenium Forest. Thanks so much for the effort it took to record this. Sorry I did this partly because it's my favorite Plini piece, and partly because I wanted to figure out how to do timestamps :-)
Just btw, awesome audio recording quality. Almost all Plini live recordings on YT aren't too good. Glad to find a decent recording from the ANZ tour. Saw them Christchurch too.
Gives me goosebumps. Well done on the audio! sounds great! captured that live feel so well. Gutted I didnt discover Plini when they came here.
I was at this gig with me best mate and our wives, one of the best nights ever
way awesome. I saw this in phoenix and that finale was a fascinating display of talent to behold.
incredible. stoked to have been at this show in person.
this is pure gold
Love this!
Would love to see Plini on a G3 tour
LOL
@@paultinajero9733 why lol? any REAL argument why it wouldn’t be great?!?
BUT G3 with Vai as third guitarist and not Petrucci or Uli John Roth or Phil Collen
Simon on that solo , daaaaaamn @13:28 🔥🔥🔥👽
I have many bassists I admire, but Simon in not just technique but also tone is just in his own realm.
How many guitarist does it take to be awesome!? Yes...oh, add one drummer. So good!
54 here......so pleased. with this
DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
wow!
👏👏👏👌🏻
Their sound is a heavier version of Umphreys McGee. Really nice stuff boys
Awesome. Thanks.
I love the 'don't look at your guitar' challenge at 11:50 :)
47:42 my favourite part of this song startsssss❤️🔥
Simon's hair is the real mvp.
the bass solo at 22:00 for president
It’s the drummer for meeee
I would totally want Cascade to be my entrance music
idk if i've heard other things yet because i didn't remember how good that song is.
Show
Mesa rectifiers on stage? I thought him and Jake shared One axe FX III unit live?
I'm happy. Proud dual recto player here :D
Edit: NVM. I think that's Nick Johnston's amp haha. Plini needs to use a Mark V or Recto live.. Nick's tone is soo much better
Like brothers this video!
4:00 epilepsy warning
GUS
What genre would you call this? Progressive jazz or something??
Jazz fusion
52:45 Crab hands lol
does anyone know which song it is when everyone is yelling gus?
Hey man, forgot to put up setlist, it's up now, but the song your asking is called "Heart"
cheers man
Weird this happened at the Auckland show aswell
16:53 55555
What if Nick Johnston is Guthrie in disguise?😳
57:30 hahahaha
Chris 'fuckin' Allison!
Can I give more than 100 likes?
It still cracks me up how Plini has this dead-pan face while he does jaw-dropping stuff on his axe. He seems to hardly crack a smile. It's almost distracting! I'd rather just listen.
can anyone say dream theater?
6:20 the claps are soo out of time lol
They're not lol
Metal poser hipster intergalactic LOL
