I'm an old fart and remember when that model was new. Not too far before that, they didn't have power steering and you had to drive them backwards to keep the engine cool. That little loader is a dandy. The great thing is that a guy can work on them himself.
I love to see these older loaders when running as good as yours I would drive it any day tell Tim to enjoy wish I had one I get Volo loaders to drive at work L70 L220 4 of them 3 L90s one is old wore out one newer one used enjoy keep the good videos comming
that was cool and interesting. Tim looks like a good employee, he has a good temperament for farming-ranching. In the next video we'll see Tim applying the wet tire shine to the Loader and buffing the tires....the more he works on it the more he'll own it and love it.
Stick welding produces a stronger weld especially with 7018 rod and less porosity than mig welding. I like how nice your old loader runs looks like a reliable old timer
That international is in great shape I have a friend who uses one for snow in tight parking lots all winter he restored his and I think yours in better shape. If it don't cost you anything but fuel to run it its a good machine cabs a little small I think the squatch feels trapped in there
Seems that you have the same weather pattern as we do here in north central Ohio. We didn't have any rain since we planted at the end of April. Then about 2 1/2 weeks ago it's started pouring and has rained pretty much everyday since. We just finished cutting two fields of first cut this morning. Hopefully it will dry out for a few days like the weatherman is saying.
Have to admit that I'm jealous of you welding. When I was just out of high school many years ago I worked on the maintenance crew at a brick making plant. There is where I learned to stick rod arc weld and cut with a torch. Arc welding is great whenever you get to do it but it's even better when you get to fabricate something with new metal. Keep up the good work!
What type of welding rod are you using to weld the strap to the pin? If it is anything other than a LH7018, you will be out of luck as the pin is most likely made of harder metal than what the strap is made of and weld will fail if the pin can not rotate when the fork is tilted. Not saying that it will cure the problem entirely but it will last a lot longer than a E6010 or any other type that does not have the rating of a LH7018
as always love your movies I'm a happy man when i seen onelonlyfarmer has uploaded a movie, be interesting to see whats Tims favorite machine that you run?
Keith Brettell They have a German Neuss D310 6cyl. in them. Allison two speed twin turbine transmission. At least that is what my 3820A has which is the same tractor turned around with the engine in the front with a loader and backhoe.
If the weld breaks again- make a new flat piece with a hole in it thats smaller than the pin- then weld the hole full- called a plug weld and they hold better than an edge weld... also- make sure your pin isnt wobbling too much in loose bushings
Tim, talk nice to that old loader and she'll serve you like a slave. Keep dissing it and it'll die at the worst moment. It's a good machine and most importantly it pays for itself over and over. A newer more comfortable loader will kill you with interest repayments well before the maintenance costs tie their noose. Thanks once again OLF. Your loyal subscribers don't mind waiting for your vids. Keep having fun. I sure as hell had fun watching the weed eaters.
I have a 25 year old 4x4 that has lapped the earth 10 times (440, 000 km) and the only time she let me down was when I went fishing without her and didn't apologise after. The monday after I got back she threw a wire off the coil half way to work. The moody cow won't start in winter unless I ask nicely and pat her on the wheel.
Did you say 2800 hrs on the clock? -if so it is hardly run in yet!! Greasing is an essential task to avoid future problems and on her there will be lots and of grease points.
that loader mite be old but you cant beat old skool machinery for the job in hand.. still sounds good from what I can hear.. now go get them bails tim lol...
Try 6010 rod for first two passes then cap with 7018 rod that is the strongest combo there is 6010 is a digger rod all high psi pipe is welded with this type
I am also a lover of old equiptment, it may be hard to believe that a 16 year old kid owns an old ford 3000 3 cylinder diesel tractor that I use to believe it or not also mow hay with and the odd tow or pull tree stumps out with
I don't want to offend you and I love your videos, but has anyone ever mentioned that you sound live Eugene Levy? In one of your videos could you do us a favor and shout, "Davenport! Get Mr. Griswald's car back and bring it back here". Or maybe you could say, "If you thinking of taking the tribe cross country, this is the automobile you should be using; the Wagon Queen Family Truckster. You think you hate it now...but wait 'till you drive it". You would make my day if I could hear you say one of those lines.
How in the fuck did you get an old International 6 cylinder to start so easy and not smoke out the neighbourhood. You can't give them a sniff of crack because of the glow plugs. The old loader loads hay that's what counts who cares if it rattles and squeeks.
that's a nice old loader ,, i wish i had one like it on my farm ,, that would work great for loading scrap metal and picking up stuff like cars and such that's a nice one cause it isn't articulated ,, i used to run one at the rock quarry but it was articulated
For the last 4 weeks its been raining 4 or 5 days out of the week here in taneytown Maryland and Im almost out of hay. Im hoping the rain holds of so i can atleast make 30 or so acres this week.
onelonleyfarmer I can understand that believe me, I just really don't want to buy hay to feed my cattle! Oh well hopefully it will clear up soon good luck up there.
Has Tim organised that date with Taylor Swift yet?
I am glad you seem to be weathering the storm better today!!! I wish you well in this difficult haying season.

Really enjoy watching your videos and learning stuff about farming and rebuilding tractors

Where's the crawler you traded the work on the one tractor for?
Onelonely farmer as always a great video. Can't wait to see the new mower in action, hopefully you get some rain down there.
A fine machine.
How has the rye harvest been?
How often do you you go to Two Buttons in Frenchtown for your spiritual needs, or just to buy crap?
300+ views in 18 minutes...Keep the great videos coming!
We got close to 2 inches of rain in Abbottstown Pa last night 6/20 from Bill and now sunny skies on Sunday
What's that noise when that thing is running

as always love your movies I'm a happy man when i seen onelonlyfarmer has uploaded a movie, be interesting to see whats Tims favorite machine that you run?
Does Cody have a licence yet?
What's the powerplant in the loader?

jimgo49 I think I am wrong on that. Looks like the loaders used D282 engines.
Keith Brettell The loader uses the same engine as 560 and 656 IH tractors, The old glowplug till the batteries are almost dead, 282cid engine
did you say your coming to Lancaster PA
Yes I will be shipping new hay to the auctions out there
A
Where at I live in Lancaster
Do u still have this
Love your channel. Keep posting video.

Michael Owen maybe elongate the bolt hole so it has a bit of movement and use a nylock nut so it can move a bit to compensate for wear on the pin..
Hello. What state are you in? Keep up the great work on the videos.
You want a leather welders cap to protect your scalp,
old loaders are great

that loader mite be old but you cant beat old skool machinery for the job in hand.. still sounds good from what I can hear.. now go get them bails tim lol...
Kevin Willis I was just thinking maybe tim doesn't like the loader because it has no A/C or radio..
Keep talking to Tim like that and you will knock all confidence out of him my own father did that to me and i never forgave him
John T Tim knows he’s joking
Like your vids Put a lock on the battery cover that's what they will steal an fuel
really is a nice little loader
While watching,I thought for sure you were going to have a hot spark land on top of your head !
Try 6010 rod for first two passes then cap with 7018 rod that is the strongest combo there is 6010 is a digger rod all high psi pipe is welded with this type

Austin Campbell That is normal for those engines.
Tims temper one of the best video but this not bad to
7:10 nice hair
you may watch a lincohn or a miller .but my 255 amp mig you beter have dark dark lenses.
Nice!
welding with full leathers this time.. huh maybe youre not just a farmer
I drove a Cat 966g serie2 whit 25 000+ hours on it, I fucking hate that thing
flooding in ohio...strange month
You better not put Tim in that Western Star truck. Thats a $180,000 or more truck. Does he even have a CDL?
Where I live you don't need a CDL if you're a farmer. That is as long as you stay within the set radius of your farm, hundred miles I think.
Comment
That loader IS really old. Ancient and decrepit. Needs an overhaul.
Only two years newer than you, huh?
Shit your lucky no rain for 6 weeks try us for 2 months
In Australia I am
Becky i was thinking i was dead meat untill it started to rain.. we only had half a crop at best and that was turning brown and dying.
Becky I wish i was that lucky ,, I live in IOWA , and we have had 5 days of rain every week since april
