I see lots of ingenious and resourceful things in your videos, but sometimes the simplest things really impress me. In this video, that strap winding gizmo that looks like something someone welded together on the fly is a remarkably useful time saver. Kudos!
John Greer most flatbed truckers have them, they have lots of straps. I bought two five gallon buckets of chains and binders from a retired trucker. There were two of those strap winders in the buckets.
That is the best idea I have seen in years... Your Strap roller.. I have got to make one now.. I suppose when rolling as many straps as you do, it was not hard for you to say, there must be a better way..LOL I don't roll up nearly 1% of the straps you do, but damn that is a great idea. Thanks
Hey Wes we had a bale bandit a couple years ago...the guy would go around and grab 8 -10 bales right off the field from a couple of farmers including myself...when I qusetioned him about my bales missing he denied it and cops said I needed video or pic proove that it was him this went on for a couple years in the end I did catch him with 25 first cut and got him on video taking second cut would have been the 4th bale...he was charged and had to pay damages back to me...funny thing is he was 84 years old at the time
I will never understand certain people. fucking with people that make your food (the farmer) and ones that deliver it to the store (the semi truck driver). they work their asses off so you can eat.
A very merry Christmas and a happy new year to you Wes and your family from NZ The skid steer smokes bugger all in the good old days the engine wasn't working until there was plenty of black smoke!
Wes, one thing I've noticed since you said that you're struggling to get bales on the forks is that each one of the forks on the skid steer is pointing a different direction. Maybe try straightening them out and get them all going the same direction. It's not going to solve the problem, but it should help some.
It sounds like it was someone who has a fairly good knowledge of how square bales are tied and transported. I mean, I've been around hay bales all my life and would have never thought to do that. I guess I'm not sinister enough.
I'd say you got way better things to do with your time. you are working to pay your bills the honest way, than to be thinking about this stuff along with a lot of us who farm or do other jobs. Then not going stealing or messing with somebody elses living for your kicks, and cheaper way of making money without doing a whole lot of work. The chances of getting caught and thrown in jail are slim in most area's.If you get jail time half these idiots think that's great somebody else feeds and waters them. They sit on their lazy useless asses watching tv in most prisons, and live better than us working to pay for them yet again.
Hi Wes, I was thinking about the a-holes that stole your bales,....as you have mentioned they have also cut the green ties on some of the bales before they left. To me this indicates not only are they a bunch of a-holes but there seems to be an vindictive motive, stealing is one thing, cutting some of the ties before they left say's something else. I don't remember if you have mentioned it in previous video but by any chance did they steal the bales at the beginning of the season when you first started to make bales for the year? Just a thought,....did you win a bid over a competitor on any land to produce grass? I was just wondering is it possible that one of your competitors in the area might have done this ( steal your bales) Next season maybe you could hide a camera in a tree to spot your bales, you know the type of camera's hunters use that start recording once they detect movement, with a camera maybe you could catch the prick's that stole your bales in the event that they try it again and then get the cops on there ass's.
Wes can you share your strap winding tool with us. I'm a seed specialist from Indiana and think that is the neatest tool ever. I"m constantly loading and strapping pallets and boxes of seed. It takes for ever to wind up straps by hand. My delivery guys usually just thow them back in the box and then i have a big knot of straps.
Our 328d smokes just as much. No big deal. If there was no stress and disappointment in life you would take it for granted. Have a merry Christmas Wes!
MERRY CHRISTMAS O.L.F. ,LOVE THE CHANNEL, WITHOUT FARMERS AND TRUCK DRIVERS THIS WORLD WOULD BE IN A WORLD OF HURT,GREW UP FARMING,AND THANKYOU FROM ME AND AMERICANS WHO APPRECIATE WHAT YOU DO.....HAPPY HOLIDAYS AND GOD BLESS....JEFF(12POINT BOWTECH )
I wondered what that weird thing was when you took it out of the tool box, A web belt winder. Better tools make for easier and quicker work. Did you make it?
hey man I always liked your videos I was in atlanta georgia and to orita I'm in Mexico I brought a newholland ls 180 and lost strength and I do not understand that it will have changed the diesel filter
I see no smoke from the Skid Steer, very fast unloading 🎄💥😲🎄💥😲💥🎄💥😲💥🎄💥😲💥🎄 stealing bails is bad enough, but sabotage twenty bails thats sick ! you need a cam on that location Wes and than you can proof it !
BIlly the SMall Bong thorton from india we had a cattle theft ring in our area a few years ago. They tried to steal about 30 head of our replacement heifers. Alot of our neighbors lost calves.
My boss has a 330 e and at around 2000hr. It was smoking black all the time, he thought it was I n the air system , but it turns out the injectors were getting week. But yours looks normal as a diesel
Hi wes hope all is well with you .I see you are using the the old ratchets let's face it when carting bale they can be a complete ball ace .If you google the ratchet shop and look at the organomicke ratchet i don't know wether that's the right spelling . Instead of pushing up you pull down to tighten they have longer handles and there much easier to use . now your getting old that will help you strap down . You and tim and all your family have a great christmas and a happy and healthy new year . merry christmas my friend .
For a tractor it may not be a lot but for a skid steer 3000 hours is definitely getting up there. Of course there’s skid steers out there with over 5/6k hours it’s not something you see every day. On top of that not to many people (none I know) would consider buying one with that many hours unless it was a screaming deal. Anything major fails and it’s thousands if not 10’s of thousands to repair.
Also, just a thought, but do you feel trail cams set up in youe hay stack locations would be a cheap security investment just so no matter what, you have proof IF something did happen?
Heck that is just broke in lol. We got a bobcat S250 with air cooled duetz that just rolled 12k hours. Smokes a lot. And i run them like you do. You got a good machine. And i do agree, they need more power per unit for what they can do.
We have three 333e model track skid steers at work. If you look for a new skid buy the 333g model that's the newest model and is way better. Has a yanmar diesel in it and does not have the power issues the older skids with John Deere engines have. A tech for Deere once told me they have a guy (jd) that goes around the state's and overhauls the engines in these skid steers. JD got away from its own engines due to the power issues and due to emissions stuff the 333g model has def in it. That's what I've heard anyways
I would say it is someone, that use to farm that land and they lost it to you, and live close buy that is stealing your hay, get some game cameras and you can get some of those GPS dog tags and stuff them in the hay when you leave for the day and you can set your phone up with the tag starts moving it will be sent to your phone where it is at all times
onelonleyfarmer if you know the side effects of K 31 go ask your local veterinarian if any of the local farmers have had these problems in their animals might figure out who took your hay...
I see lots of ingenious and resourceful things in your videos, but sometimes the simplest things really impress me. In this video, that strap winding gizmo that looks like something someone welded together on the fly is a remarkably useful time saver. Kudos!
Need a game camera at the bale yard.
or put a GPS-Tracker in some bales
I like the strap winder that is really cool and rather simple I like it Merry Christmas
John Greer most flatbed truckers have them, they have lots of straps. I bought two five gallon buckets of chains and binders from a retired trucker. There were two of those strap winders in the buckets.
Good idea
John Greer they sell them at truck stops rather cheaply
Why wrap the hook first? When you throw that it could smash a window or hit somebodys head
David E. The hook is wrapped first so that the weight is in the end that is thrown. It will unroll itself when thrown over the load.
I like the slick little gismo for winding the straps up . Nice touch .HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL . From good old Suffolk UK
That is the best idea I have seen in years... Your Strap roller.. I have got to make one now.. I suppose when rolling as many straps as you do, it was not hard for you to say, there must be a better way..LOL I don't roll up nearly 1% of the straps you do, but damn that is a great idea. Thanks
About the only way you won't see smoke is with a scr/def engine. A lot of arm chair experts on here.
bimmerman3 I know right😂 its a diesel its dirty its greasy its gonna smoke some it all good
jfarmall77 No kidding lol, Ive been around diesel engines all my life.
We have a machine with Def that smokes more than one without
kubota skid steers doesnt smoke bad it smoke clear wich is a clean
Hey Wes we had a bale bandit a couple years ago...the guy would go around and grab 8 -10 bales right off the field from a couple of farmers including myself...when I qusetioned him about my bales missing he denied it and cops said I needed video or pic proove that it was him this went on for a couple years in the end I did catch him with 25 first cut and got him on video taking second cut would have been the 4th bale...he was charged and had to pay damages back to me...funny thing is he was 84 years old at the time

Wes iv got to say your videos are always awesome and I wish you and family a merry Christmas and a happy New Year sir
Have a good Christmas Wes
We have a JD 323D loader, somewhere in the 60 horse power range I believe. Awesome machine.
It sounds like it was someone who has a fairly good knowledge of how square bales are tied and transported. I mean, I've been around hay bales all my life and would have never thought to do that. I guess I'm not sinister enough.

The new modification looks to be working well and productive!

Now that's some job for rollin up straps
That little bit of smoke ain't nothing, it's a diesel for God sake.
I still believe you know who took the hay but knowing and proving are two different things
I like your ingenious strap rollers, I need to build one for myself now.
Skid steers are "Open the Throttle Wide Open and Go for the Day". Always a good video. Merry Christmas to you & Family Wes
Would you think of getting a teleporter,we use them in Ireland there a good job
Trail cams are cheap and easy. That strap winder is really cool!
Get some GPS trackers and hide them in some of the bales.
You work like a boss.. very efficient
Wes can you share your strap winding tool with us. I'm a seed specialist from Indiana and think that is the neatest tool ever. I"m constantly loading and strapping pallets and boxes of seed. Have you ever checked out a Westendorf stackmmasrer balefork? It mit help you.
Love your strap roller.. did u come up with that your self?
Yes, please show us more of that roller please ?
Most truck stops carry them. When I ran flat bed it was worth it's weight in gold.
Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy new year. Keep the videos coming.
Ahh. Did the bale hurt it self. It got a bandaid. Did it fell of the hay stack or did it huffed and puffed in the field and broke some strings
Instant classic Wes. Really like the camera work in the first half. Merry Christmas to you.
Do you have any idea WHO did still the hay?
If possible I would put up deer camera's to catch them.
hope u and your have a great x-mass,happy holidays.
Does the skid steer consume any oil between oil / filter changes ?
Like your attachment for winding up the straps ! :-)
Wyr
God bless
Merry Christmas
I know here in Aus that any diesel engine can smoke depending on where the fuel was from and I have seen it too,
Merry Christmas Pandys. I have seen every video this year, and look forward to what you do in 2018.
What year is that Skid Steer? A Very Merry Christmas To the Entire Pandy Family And the Most Happy and Prosperous New Year to All from sdh in CT.
Great video Wes I love the little tool you made to roll up your straps
It only smokes when it burns oil, or the injectors are worn at the tip making a bad spray pattern
Is it possible to add weights to the back of the skid steer to help balance out skid steer?
That's a really handy tool for wrapping up the straps.
I wondered what that weird thing was when you took it out of the tool box, A web belt winder. Better tools make for easier and quicker work. Did you make it?
Merry Christmas Wes. You are one smart guy. Real talk !!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Central TX. Did you build the load strap windup tool? I never saw one!
were is the smoke?
hey man I always liked your videos I was in atlanta georgia and to orita I'm in Mexico I brought a newholland ls 180 and lost strength and I do not understand that it will have changed the diesel filter
I see no smoke from the Skid Steer, very fast unloading 🎄💥😲🎄💥😲💥🎄💥😲💥🎄💥😲💥🎄 stealing bails is bad enough, but sabotage twenty bails thats sick ! you need a cam on that location Wes and than you can proof it !
a hunting cam might be a good idea?
put traps all around the bales and spike strips near the field entrances, just don't forget they're there! :))
Wes what brand and model camera do you use thanks Jerry
I love the strap roller
Nice nosedive you did there. Lol. You have beautiful rolling country out there. You are lucky. Merry Christmas Wes!!
A few years back someone with a pocket knife ruined a farmers year supply of silage that was stored in bags. Hope you catch your bale bandit
tractorman MIKE did they catch the crook
BIlly the SMall Bong thorton from india I wrap all of my uncle's hay for him and if someone did that to our bales they works get a butt full of lead
BIlly the SMall Bong thorton from india we had a cattle theft ring in our area a few years ago. They tried to steal about 30 head of our replacement heifers. Alot of our neighbors lost calves.
Track your bales with "Hi Speed Wireless Devices" made by S&W
Merry Christmas Mr. Pandy and have a safe Christmas as well. And don’t work too hard
Happy Christmas and a Prosperous New Year to you and the family Wes.

Marry Christmas to you and your Family and A Happy New Year
Merry Christmas OLF and family.
Get you some cameras and catch them, send them their photos and a nice bill.
Merry Christmas to you and your family, Wes.
Why would you consider 3,000 hours a lot
Craig Jensen 3,000 is a lot for a hydrostatic trans.
Craig Jensen we had to rebuild the one in our tractor at 1,500
For a tractor it may not be a lot but for a skid steer 3000 hours is definitely getting up there. Of course there’s skid steers out there with over 5/6k hours it’s not something you see every day. On top of that not to many people (none I know) would consider buying one with that many hours unless it was a screaming deal. Was do you use your loader to move hay anymore ?
Did you ever find out or have an idea of who stole and damaged your hay?
Also, just a thought, but do you feel trail cams set up in youe hay stack locations would be a cheap security investment just so no matter what, you have proof IF something did happen?
We’re did you get that strap roller? To bad about your hay.
Merry Christmas to you and the family Wes. Look forward to seeing more great videos in 2018.
Hope your family has a very Merry Christmas
How can I get in touch with you so we can talk privately?
Merry Christmas to you and your family happy New year as well looking forward to seeing more videos
Merry Christmas Wes!
I need one of them strap rollers. Time to make one!
Heck that is just broke in lol. We got a bobcat S250 with air cooled duetz that just rolled 12k hours. Smokes a lot. And i run them like you do. You got a good machine. And i do agree, they need more power per unit for what they can do.
Dan Kunde are you sure of the motor? I'm pretty sure all S250's have kubota diesels.
02 s250 still had duetz, same as the old 873s did. In 03 they switched to water cooled botas.
Ah. Learn something new everyday. Thanks.
We had an s250 same motor. Good machine.
Yeah I've had T250's and T300's. Very good motors. Not a fan of the new emissions. Just something else to go wrong in my book.
Merry Christmas Wes, and have a Happy New Year. from Lewis, Scotland (UK)
You are a Good Man Charlie Brown.
really like the strap wrapper ..
Did you make that reel for you’re straps

Merry Xmas wes happy new year I hope 2018 is a great year for you and your family and remember that which doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger
Merry Christmas to you Wes and your family.
Some pos just jealous of your operation and success. Have a Merry Christmas and enjoy your family.
Wes was the hay that they stole first cut k-31. For their animal sake I hope they're not feeding it to them if it was k-31
it was
onelonleyfarmer if you know the side effects of K 31 go ask your local veterinarian if any of the local farmers have had these problems in their animals might figure out who took your hay...
PERRY C maybe they took it to sell to horse people. if that happens a few sick horse will probably make the news
I hope they are and their animals die and thats what they get for being thieving douchebags.
How can I get a hoody?
