I see Nemo, I click to watch. Nemo you are a breath of fresh air in the youtube HiFi Reviews. It really feels like most of the review channels turned into 100% advertisement time with clickbait titles. Really happy that folks like you are around to remind ppl what it is all about. Keep it coming man.
Its really a shame that so many great brands were sold to private equity, many are longer with us. I will always try to support a brand thats owned by the founder/family/employees rather than a corporate owned brand. This is why I gave up on focal.
Great review. I've had mine for almost 2yrs now. Zero issues. I absolutely love it. More depth to the soindstage than my previous amp and the dynamics continue to impress me. The way drums bring more snap and punch is so much fun. Thanks for spreading the word on Pathos!!
great video as always nemo, you're one of my top favorite reviewers out there, always keeping it short, simple and helpful, and i really like the way you put the feelings an energy behind these videos, me, like many others don't usually post a comment in youtube, but we always appreciate your work nice beard btw ;)
wow! that's fantastic to hear, if you can keep it that long you for sure love it! I want to buy a Pathos for myself at some point, the sound is so good!
Oh so good to see the comparison to the Galion TS120. One minor correction, the TS120 is 30w in class A and not 80w. I know it is weird when 30w can easily keep up with 135w.
Perfect review!! Please review the Borreson X1’s (bookshelf) if possible. I think you will be selling your other bookshelves and getting those if you like the sound.
Thanks for the great review. (maybe a first on UA-cam?) I own this amp and can confirm your Impressions. Since the tubes are very common (E88CC/6922) it's easy to experiment with different tubes. My favourits are Telefunken from the 50ies. They add a whole new dimension of air and sweetness but are slightly leaner in the bass. I thought you might criticise the lack of a sub output.
You are so right on the corporatization of high end audio. I've been there in the old days and it is tragic. That's why I own Rogue and Belles amplification. Made here and they row their own boat. The same thing has happened to music with Autotune and computerized instruments. It seems like once profit is the major determinate of quality, kiss that quality and any uniqueness away. Old guy yelling at clouds? Maybe but learn before you judge.
They used to have Electro Harmonix as default for their entry level stuff, not sure what they use now, EH are made in Russia. Tube rolling iscl fun. I owned the mk2 years ago, now i have the Logos mk1.
Hey Nemo, is choosing a tube amp to play electronic music a waste? Is this amp any good with Electronic music? A song that I use as my benchmark is Linsey Stirling - Crystallize. Thanks! Also what streamer/dac did you use in your testing with this amp?
I checked out this amp at a local store and passed it up for only one reason...it doesn't have any pre-amp outputs. Your out of luck if you want to connect a subwoofer. I suppose if you have full range speakers, that's not an issue.
When I took the Pathos back to upscale audio I left with another Pathos :D, now I'm reviewing the Pathos Inpol Remix Class A, this brand is crazy good!!
@@NemoPropaganda oh man, actually quite jealous lol. They are 3.5k in the UK too. I expected to be a little cheaper, I guess we aren't part of Europe anymore lol
nothing of note but if I really had to complain I would have liked to see it have subwoofer outputs or main pre-outs but that's really it. This darn thing was simply fantastic.
Kinki Studio is a very different sound, more detail & clarity focused, the Pathos is a little warmer sounding and a little more holographic. Overall sound quality is excellent on both amps.
Thank you for reviewing stuff from lesser know brands and making us aware. Appreciate your effort !❤

thank you for the kind words!
I grab that amp about 4 months ago and mated it with the zu union 6 and am really enjoying that combo
that sounds like an amazing combination!

This is really interesting…….Pathos was at Axpona and peaked my interest……glad you took this home and checked it out.
it's really good, I'm checking out their Inpol Remix class A amp next!
I had the pathos inpol ear headphone amp for a bit and was fantastic. Love tube hybrids there are a few goodies out there.

nice, I still wish I had this amp here, I loved it so much!!
I love…love high quality, unique offerings like this…and love your reviews even more 🙏🏼👍🏼
thank you sir! glad you dig it!!
Great review! Thanks for sharing. If Upscale will allow...sure would be nice to see you review the Logos MkII.
after I returned it I left with another Pathos, the Inpol Remix Class A :)
@@NemoPropaganda Oh nice! I'm looking forward to watching that review. Thanks for your reply.

thank you for the compliments brother!
What a nice review, i own the Pathos New Classic One MK2 for more than 20 years. Still loving it! Very good match with my Diapason Adamantes speakers.

oh man, I don't know why I had it in my head that the Galion was 80w x2 in a/b mode. Thank you for the clarification!

I will try :)

Would you recommend your amp for Electronic music listening?
@@MisterJDee With the stock tubes, absolutely.
I saw one on offer up but wasn’t ready… I wonder if this review will let me know I made a big mistake…
Cool to see you getting into tubes. I love both tubes and solid state... which isn't good for my bank account.

yup! Focal is def one that comes to mind :(
I liked your channel from the first time I saw you 🎸
thank you sir, I appreciate that.
I thought it a bit strange that neither the dealer nor manufacturer had any info on the tubes.
I just found it with 2 seconds of google:
JJ Electronics E88CC
Hello,
What tubes does the Pathos use and what brand tubes comes with it from the factory?
Thanks for the great videos!
I'm not sure, please contact upscale audio for additional details.
They used to have Electro Harmonix as default for their entry level stuff, not sure what they use now, EH are made in Russia. Tube rolling iscl fun. I owned the mk2 years ago, now i have the Logos mk1.
Will you review the new Musical Fidelity A1 ? They say it sounds like an hybrid.
maybe in the future.

I listen to a lot of edm, like 60% of what I listen to is edm including that song. No it's not a waste at all.

some subs have high level inputs so you're not completely out of options but yeah for some reason many tube amps don't have any pre-outs :(
can you please review advance paris a10 or a12 please! hehe
I don't take requests but I'll look into it.
@@NemoPropaganda haha thank you!
How do you think KEF R3 Metas will sound with this Pathos ?
Very good.
We actually like to see you struggling about not keeping it. lol..

Ηi friend How does it compare to the KINKI STUDIO EXM 1+ [at the same price] ? thanks in advance
