I agree. We have been on the QM2 twice. And for us it's the greatest ship at sea. But the lobby area is so understated. It should be more of a feature of the ship like it us on other ships. Apart from that everything else as you know. Especially the service is the best.
Great video Laura! We were on her in October 2019 for our New England and Canada fall cruise from New York. I love everything about her although I prefer the location of the Queen's Ballroom on Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth. Looking forward to seeing what Queen Anne has to offer.
1st cruise was actually in 2004 as I was part of the inaugural crew etc ...great seein the old girl again & hasnt changed that much really...# Memories
Altho it was a real struggle @ the v beginning ...Cunard had never had a ship this big etc, we were doing 16/17hr days regularily . But the plus side ..whichever port we visited there were HUGE crowds out fr shoreside to view which was indeed a sight to behold . Soon, hopefully , after nrly 20 yrs I hope to grace her as a passenger this time as well as QE2 (anuva old "home") in Dubai. Also a privilege was being a "hotel" for some of the teams & I.O.C. @ the 2004 Olympics in Athens .
@@theseadog9568 that will be lovely to return as a passenger. I managed to visit the QE2 when I was in Dubai and whilst it was interesting it was still having a lot of work done (2019). Hopefully you’ll be able to see much more during your visit.
Great to see the theatre chandelier still there and the ballroom looking as amazing as ever! Was an amazing experience being part of the build team! Sadly my attraction (illuminations) isnt in your video but amazing to see it again.
@@CruiseLifestyle Yes - months in France. I have amazing pictures of the spaces still as metal shells and a week later fully kitted out. Strange experience but an amazingly beautiful ship!
Great video, but your footage is not 8 months old as youtube says? The video is i think pre covid early 2020? The QM2 had quite a lot of work done last year to freshen her up.
I have just watched this and your tour of the P&O Britannia. They are two of the best ship tours I've ever watched. I especially liked the relatively lengthy shots of the Crystal Room and Queen's Room dance floors. The most important parts of a cruise for my wife and me are the ballroom dancing venues. Because we ballroom dancers are a small minority, mostly lip service is paid to those venues by most reviewers, none of whom seem to dance. In a perfect world, for me you'd have been out there with a measuring tape so as to give me dimensions. Perhaps next time. Thanks so much and keep up the good work.
Hi Fred, thank you so much for your feedback, I was an avid dancer as a child and perhaps for this reason I subconsciously included these rooms in my tour more prominently than others. What I will do in future is pay more attention to the dimensions of dance spaces so I can help more.
Great video and I really look forward to going on her at the 3rd time of trying in May! Just on the Britannia restaurant, it's not reserved for anyone is it? I thought that's the main restaurant that's open for all passengers regardless of room booking.
@@CruiseLifestyle Just an update, I contacted Cunard and can confirm the Britannia restaurant is for everyone, you just have to reserve your seating time. Less than 3 months to go and I'm ultra excited for this!
We traveled on the Queen Mary 2, seven days from Southampton to NYC. Beautiful ship! Excellent service, average food (compared to other companies), and great shows. Now, if you like to dance, you better learn ballroom moves. Otherwise, you will look out of place, trying to have some fun on the floor. Daily activities... boring.
Thank you for sharing your experience on QM2. Ballroom dancing is definitely an activity that is more popular on Cunard. Also interesting to hear that the daily activities weren’t good.
Cruise Lifestyle I would like to ask a question and I would be very happy if you could answer me: On the RMS Queen Mary 2, we observed that at the front (bow) passengers only go to a point where there are large objects like replacement blades for the propellers from the ship. In the most forward part, can a passenger enter even if it is with the ship docked and accompanied by a crew member under the order of an officer?
Nice, I came across a documentary that mentioned the original Queen Mary and when this came up I was like, "wow they restored it to immaculate condition"😅
I have crossed on The Q M 2 , 3 times , due to no other ship line doing an Atlantic crossing, the food onboard is equal to a Canadian Hospital .If you are female , they have male dancers to dance with the females .If you are male, there are no female dancers , so you can stand around and watch everybody having fun in the ballroom and you can get stuffed , courtesy of Cunard . The Q M 2 would do a great business , if it had an onboard escort service . I have been in Holiday Inns , that are more luxurious , than The Q M 2.
The only ship that comes close to following in the footsteps of the great ocean liners of the past.
Thanks for showing this.
Thank you for watching 😁
I can't wait to do the Transatlantic crossing on this ship for my 50th birthday in late 2026...trying to get my wife on board is the tricky part :)
Brilliant, such a nice thing to look forward to. Hope you can convince your wife!
A unique and magnificent ship. My only critic is the lobby, I think this ship deserves more elaborate and luxury lobby, and paneling in the rooms...
It's definitely understated

What a beautiful Ship! Thank you Laura for sharing.
It is! Thank you very much for watching :)
I like how the Britannia restaurant retains some of the art deco style of the original Queen Mary.
I like that too!

Thank you Angela. I think it will be very interesting to see more of Queen Anne, of the photos released it seems to have a more contemporary feel.

The theatre and ballroom are great spaces. It must have been incredible to be involved in the build.

1:25 was a Titanic flash back moment opening those doors.....
Yes, you’re right! Very grand and traditional dining room
Music a bit high in the mix!

I can’t say for certain but I believe passengers aren’t allowed passed this point.
Wait, is this a museum or does it actually go on voyage?
Queen Mary 2 still operates as a liner and does transatlantic voyages.

@@MiNNi0LaI had a feeling that you were thinking of Queen Mary.
is it 50% capacity or 100% already?
I don’t believe it’s currently operating at 100% capacity but I’m not sure of the current occupancy
love it😂😂😂😂🤩🤩
Thank you

I’m guessing you’re not a fan then?
I really want get so drunk on that ship.
You could definitely do that if you wished to do so!
I have been on it and that is the only thing to do on it , but sneak your own booze on it , the booze is way too expensive .
Frankly compared to Titanic, the interior looks cheesy and fake...
Sadly nobody did a ship tour of Titanic to compare.
Pretty underwhelming tbh.
It's definitely not a ship to suit everyone.
looks boring
I wouldn’t recommend booking then! 🤣
