The idea of a race among all these cars makes it much more exciting to watch. There’s so much competition between all the EVs that I love seeing them put up against each other.

Fun watching you guys! It's interesting in retrospect seeing all the easy seconds and minutes left on the table that could have been saved. Liv was so skeptical about skipping Glenwood Springs and heading straight to Grand Junction. I think if the Frisco stop was just long enough to empty the bladder and opportunity charge while there before a deeper charge at Glenwood Springs, then Blucifer might have been ahead of the Teslas and Ioniq 5 in Utah. As it happened, you were only 5 minutes behind everyone at Green River. Can't wait for Part II!
Yep, I think you are right. It is 186 miles from Glenwood Springs to Green River. It would have been much better to do that then stopping in Grand Junction. Not sure we could have caught the Ioniq 5, but definitely at least one of the Teslas.
@@MachE_VLOG for sure. I think the finishing order would have been the same after 800 miles to Vegas but it could have been quite different into Green River at the 400 mile point. Truth is, you can only do a first-time race once and now that everyone has the trip under their belt, the same teams would do things differently the next time. Here's to hoping Ford improves the Mach-E's charging speeds a bit since 80kW at 73% just doesn't cut it when the Ioniq 5 is doing 190kW at the same SoC.
Thank you for sharing the parts of Glenwood canyon, it's one my favs too. I also drove thru there several times now in my leaf, I've also drove the "million dollar highway" coming from one our road trips Durango and heading north to Montrose! What a drive. I can't wait to do it again sometime! Watching your video brings back memories we had on our road trip almost 1yr ago!! 🤣🚗🔌 It's hard to say when people want to be talked to, or if they have issues. I understand what you were going thru, same experience in Albuquerque, oh cool that's an electric car, blah blah, I'm like dude I'm trying to plug in!! Sad to hear Green River is selling the place, I hope someone keeps it going. Puts a restroom out for people charing in the middle of the night, we experienced that. haha
we pretty much always love chatting at charging stations, even during a race haha. Ya I really hope Green River grows into something better equipped but with the same charm! That would be so perfect! - Liv

Great to see your PoV, from a strategy if you did not stop so soon it would have been very interesting to see but not realistic in the end, it would be fun to see a race with all cars with young families, kids making it more real does the increase in charging speed really matter?
Does Ford have any plans to add en-route battery pre conditioning? That's the only thing the Ionic 5 and Mach-E are lacking...both y'all stopped WAY too early on that first stop. Gotta road trip Out of Spec style.
Kyle from Out of Spec wasn't too happy with the Mach-e they tested back in early 2021 and wasn't too happy with the Mach-e charging curve & EA stations reliability. Hope he sees this to see how much Ford has improved the software with your car.
You should check out all of his videos. He had some Plug & Charge issues on his first trip that were quickly resolved by EA & Ford. And if you watched this video, you'll see that we got our charging curve updated and we got Blue Cruise via software updates. Kyle also reviewed and loved the Mach-E GT PE - and we have one on order partially based on his recommendation. The Mach-E isn't his favorite EV but he thinks it is a great EV and recommends it to people all the time.
Quite interesting to watch for someone like me, who wonders what it's like to 'live' with an EV when on the road. And thanks for the mix of observations: efficiency rating, BC performance, route updating. Hard to believe some of us who purchased F150's with BC a year ago STILL receive no OTA updates and lack BC functionality. Come on, Ford.
It took us 13 months to get BlueCruise! Thanks! We try to show what it is really like living with an EV. Our return trip video will likely be an even better representation of that. We weren't racing on the way back so it was a bit more relaxed (although we did hurry a bit because we had to work the next day).

There were rumors that would be one of the first updates last year but since then I haven't heard anything.
Finally got a July build date. Starting to get ready to install my home charger
