- We went to Las Vegas! Well we're going to Zion Narrows but we stopped in Vegas for the night. We charged up at the Barstow superchargers and the Linq Supercharger and it wasn't bad at all.

Tesla MYLR owner here. Love tesla roadtrips. Drove from Toronto to San Fran ) then north to Port Angeles- took ferry to Victoria, spent 5 nites in Tofino - before driving back east along the trans Canada highway to Toronto. Total distance 11500km. Best trip ever. No charging worries/issues whatsoever. Keep tripping!

Been driving my 2015 model S85 D from LA to vegas. Never had any range anxiety. You can stop at Barstow, Yermo, Baker, Primm and several areas in Vegas. Autopilot is the biggest advantage for the long drive. Much less fatigue than driving a regular car.

I’m planning a trip from Irvine to Vegas in a ‘18 S 75D, please advise on the best way to supercharge. I’m a little nervous about the 250 ish range. We would like to stop at Eddy’s world which would be the Yermo super charger. Would I make it if I start at 100% charge from Irvine. And also which is the best way on the way back? Thanks!
@@captaingish just put in your destination and the car will let you know when to charge. I usually stop at eddy's world then at primm so I will have a full charge in vegas. With a Tesla no real worries because you have so many supercharging options. Just enjoy your trip.

I think the light on top of those masts are actually collectors of sun rays bounced up from the mirrors on the ground to the top of the mast where the collector is. I've not seen those live but read about them so I may be totally wrong here but that's what it looks like. Cheers and drive safely and enjoy Zion.

Awesome you helped him get into the Linq. When I got my Model Y last year, I had it for a month before I took the trip from LA to Vegas. I was at the Linq trying to figure out how to enter and everyone was just staring at me. I eventually left because I didn’t know the screen gave you a code. Sad times
I didn't see anything on my screen so I hit the call button and they told me a code. We did the "Wheel" while charging Under an hr.and still got hit with a $12 (parking) charge on the way out. F--kers

Hey Chris, I noticed your forward cam at night, as seen very early in the video, seems to have a fair number of blown pixels, which are showing up as white dots. I wonder how many bad pixels Tesla considers "too many"? Kinda blew my mind that there was only one other Tesla at the Barstow supercharger when you were there! I always learn something new about the operation of my Tesla when I watch your vids. Thanks, Chris!

Hey Chris, you said you recalibrated the battery a few times. Assuming you mean taking to below 10% then fully charging it or is there some other method?
Yup that way. But don’t forget to let it go to sleep for a few hours at that level. Gonna do a video on it

Hey, Chris! I am planning to go to Vegas soon for a few days and leaving my car in the parking garage while I walk with friends. I was wondering...Did you feel safe leaving your Tesla in the parking lot overnight? Did you hear about or see any break-ins there? I'm really worried about my Tesla when I'm there so wanted to get your insight.
Parking garage is safe if it has a key and gate for customers only. If it’s for anybody not as safe

Just got our Model Y LR but man I don't like the cabin noise, it's abrupt and loud. I wonder if there are ways to reduce that sucker. Are the tires overly inflated at 42/41 psi?

Leaving Vegas (to return home to the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles) there was a ton of wind (which FSD handled beautifully) and the uphill to get out of that valley I was consuming about 700+wH/mi! Had it not been for monitoring the energy consumption and knowing we’d be fine once we got over the hill, I would’ve thought we weren’t going to make it to Baker, CA for our first SC stop. It was fine. Thanks for sharing your trip!

Yeah I talk about it. Let your car sleep at different states or charge like 15 percent 40 percent 60 percent 80 percent etc
The light energy is concentrated into heat energy at the top of those towers, which contain a salt mixture. Salt gets hot, steam, energy

I live in Vegas and waiting for delivery of my MYLR. As someone driving through how did the roof glass feel in this heat. Did it have an impact on the internal temp?
It was very hot even with the ceramic tint. However the hand test the windshield was much warmer than the roof. When it’s that hot even the ac was struggling

Yes you should be fine with just one charge esp if you don’t speed

I drove from DC to Atlanta, then to Vegas and plan on driving back to DC but stopping in Ohio. Very easy and simple don’t be fooled; but then again I have a model X

What was the cost from OC to Vegas for charging and parking?
Don’t remember exact numbers but usually a 5 hour road trip costs is 35-40 charging twice

It’s a counter weight but they discontinued it due to safety issues

So LINQ was 250kw which was solid. Barstow was either 150 but wasn't getting anything near that and 250kw

Bro ! I drove by in February and that wasn’t there! I’m so excited to see it might take a road trip soon. Also the mountain pass between baker and primm always messed up my battery% predictions I’m hoping the elevation update will help estimate battery life better during my LV-LA trips in the future . How was your % estimates when you went?

Yes it’s a way so you don’t get the nag but I only use it to show that my hands are not on the wheel. Not something I use all the time! Pay attention and be safe!
