@@maciedixon3983 Wdym??? According to NBA stats he is a 4 and has the option to start with Ayton and play with McGee. A really good player with tons of potential but honestly I don't see him growing very much on the Suns. If he goes to the Pacers, Spurs, or Raptors (idk maybe even pistons) I could see him growing extremely in his Basketball IQ as well as a team player. (This while building up his skills more too since he is still practically a rookie)
@@vzhdnrx2773 Jalen played the 4 in his Freshman year in college, alongside Celtic center Bruno Fernando. Then he played the 5 in his Sophomore year. He's super-versatile. Some websites list players as Power Forward/Center. That's definitely Jalen. I think he's more fun to watch at the 5, but

I don't think it was a coincidence that Chris Paul got his career high in rebounds while playing alongside Jalen. Chris even alluded to the fact that a lot of bigs don't play unselfishly like Jalen does (in the postgame press conference)...and the bigs don't necessarily let the little guys grab "their" rebounds. I think this CP3/Smith combo is pure magic. I think Chris sees it too. Jalen is his ticket to that ring he has always wanted. Who better to contain Giannis than a Giannis 2.0? But this Giannis can actually shoot the ball too.

True, I sadly don't see Jalen lasting on this team. But remember Jalen is a 4, Ayton and Stix together on starter might literally break the WC with the rebounding, offensive, and athletics capability. I think this is a great player with in immense amount of superstar potential being he is still practically a rookie. If the Suns managers play him correctly you could be looking at an amazing team better than now...
@@porterporter7603 The Giannis comparison was more about Jalen's body-type and athleticism. Their offensive games are completely different. Jalen is a polished mid-range shooter with a soft touch. Giannis is just an unstoppable beast in the open court. But just imagine if Jalen learned some of Giannis's moves. Jalen showed some of his open court potential in the Boston game.

@@xxxencryptacion I’m not a Suns fan, I’m a Jalen fan. We attended the same college, so I root for his success in the NBA, wherever he ends up. I know that Giannis is one of the best, if not THE best player in the NBA. I was just making the point that Jalen is the only guy on the Suns, and maybe the entire NBA, who has a chance of limiting the unstoppable force that Giannis is. Primarily because Jalen has similar physical attributes...and the fire in his belly to excel.
I remember a lot of Suns fans shitting on the kid last season. I can see him being a solid rotational 2/3rd string big for years to come.

That's my thoughts too, Monty too even said he sees him more as a 4 right now than a 5.
He played PF most of the time last year and he was terrible, and now that he's playing C he's doing really well. If they bring him back, it'll probably be as a solid backup for Ayton

I mean I love some cp3 but it was more of Jalen’s talent that put those buckets up lol. I saw like 2 easy wide open back door passes
I agree that Cp3 elevates any center...but give credit to Smith too, he's young and developing, you act like all of his buckets came from Cp3 lol...most of his buckets came from his promising skillset..
@@JRadiCal33 CP was involved in like 80% of those plays. Smith has some athletic upside and the occasional 3pt shot, but as usual, give a big to CP and he will work his magic
@@RRRRRRRRR33 80%? I literally counted 3 passes from him to Smith. It’s not nothing towards CP because he just makes a whole team better but in this case Smith showed great skill around the rim and the ability to knock the open shot down
@@JRadiCal33 A direct pass is not the only way a PG can involve others, the defense gravitates toward CP in the midrange, he finds the open man who shoots and then Smith gets the rebound, etc.. it facilitates for everyone. CP made DeAndre Jordan looks like a allstar, that is almost as impressive as winning a championship tbh, literally tuning shit into gold

I couldn't be happier to know that this young man will be playing for my Pacers! I mentioned days ago how he should have been more appreciated and how some teams would be happy to take him. That team happens to be my Pacers. Where he will get a true opportunity to show his talent. Which I see you Jalen Smith, dude can ball. He's strong too, which is one of my favorite thing's about Jalen and his range. This kid is about to silence the haters and I cannot wait to see him develop alongside our new young team. Him, Haliburton, Duarte and our next few young guys for this coming draft. Are about to propel my Indiana Pacers back into contender status. He plays like Turner on the offensive end…competing with Goga for the reserve Centre role next season

He Needs More Playing Time !
With Ayton and Mcgee coming back next game and the extension they gave to Biyombo, Smith's minutes will likely drop to about 10. He's played amazing in their absence and has been playing 25 min a game the past couple weeks but it's been out of necessity. He's only a rookie and has plenty of time to grow. Only so many min to go around as the 3rd/4th string.
@@steez5769 This is Stix 2nd year. But you wouldn't know it from the splinters the Suns management has put in his ass the past 2 years. He was the difference-maker in tonight's game. It's hard to be real productive in 10 minutes per night, though. I hope the Suns figure that out and give him at least 20...as long as they are winning. If they start to lose games, then they can always cut his minutes later. But as they say: if it ain't broken, don't fix it.

@@iCHAWY J Smith can’t be traded for anything since he’ll be a cheap free agent in a year. Suns shot themselves with that stupid decion of not extending him for a year…bad basketball and business decision. As to DA, they could’ve signed him for the max deal and secured him for 5 years, now they have less control on what he decids…and you and I know there are plenty of teams who would give him the max without any hesitation.

Smith does have a helluva lot of potential. Give him a few years and let's see what happens. I see him as an All-Star in 3-4 years. Maybe less, based on these past 5 games.
