- Flying with EasyJet from Manchester to Barcelona! (26/02/24). After an early wake-up call, it was time for me to film my first ever flight travel day vlog, as I checked out what it's like to fly with EasyJet on a plane to Spain!

4am start? That would finish me, I think! Lucy's enthusiasm for the diddy knife during the airport breakfast got a smile from me - that's the sort of thing I would do myself. This was an interesting change - GLovesTrains becomes GOnAPlane!
Another greatly positive video , great sense of humour and the way it's put together, makes it really watchable for all ages , thanks for adding smiles to my day .

Love how you synced the swoosh in the music to the moment the plane left the ground.
G-EZTT (the plane you boarded) is an Airbus A320-214, the type being certified in 1995. The A321s are stretched A320s, the A319s are shortened ones, and the A318s are even shorter.
I don't know that much about planes (except I enjoy building kits of them), but google is my friend.

Flying EasyJet at the end of next month, flying from Stansted to visit Edinburgh for a few days.

It reminded me of my first time on a plane, going to Majorca when I was 11 years old. About 10 minutes after taking off from Glasgow, they announced that we were flying over Carlisle, and we got some spectacular views of the Pyrenees

Thanks G, I had a bit of a giggle about your enthusiasm for travelators! Can’t wait to see your Spain travels. I have always really enjoyed RENFE trains, usually super swift, clean and comfortable. If you get the chance, the narrow gauge lines in the north are terrific fun, stop everywhere, see and hear Spanish life in all its variety. Santander to Ferrol is an amazing train trip!

In case you're still wondering, your plane (G-EZTT) was indeed an Airbus A320 and it first flew on 24th February 2010. Great vlog btw!

Nice video G, very recently travelled on a plane for the 1st time and was really suspired with air travel. Sone of the views from the plane were great when not under the clouds, especially with the mountains towards the end.

Great video, G. That must have been one of the first flights of the day - the airport was deserted! I think easyJet only has airbus a320 or variants thereof.

Yes, i love flying too, i always look out of the window at the views, i cant understand people that just sit there with their face in a book or with their eyes closed when there is a rare opportunity to see spectacular views 🌎 ✈

Luckily there is €urostar in that case, though that is many times more expensive, less trains per day than flights and hsl railways either don't match or connect well, so would be a really long journey. I did €urostar last Dec. as i booked months in advance and had a direct connection from Rotterdam to London. Now there are works at Amsterdam Station so you will have to change at Brussels and check in there. And as for all else, longer distances, like from Frankfurt to Machester, or in this case Manchester to Barcelona... well people go fly. I think there is HSL 2 but that one is also rather an afterthought at the moment.
I like sitting behind the wing looking out the window and watching the movement of it. Been a while since a flew anywhere. I enjoyed watching.
the Easy Jet plane is amazing & i flew with Easy Jet back in 2015 from Gatwick to Majorca which was the last time ive been on a plane & been abroad brlliant vlog & im looking forward to seeing more of Spain

If you want to know the plant type it is always on the Safety Card.

Great video as usual G! To help with the ear popping problem, I always have a sweet that I am able to suck on. I do that just after take off, and then just after landing. It always works for me!
We flew Easy Jet from Manchester-Malta in 2011, and found them good.
I don't go abroad very often, as I find the UK so endlessly fascinating. We were going to Majorca in 2020 but a certain virus had other ideas! May go somewhere, probably in the Med, in 2926.
Very enjoyable vid. Ive never flown, and im sure id get lost at Manchester Airport, looks like a lot of shoe leather being used!

Love the tiny knives, for obvious reasons post security - you get them at Stansted Spoons too, it's just one of those little things that you notice that remind you you're going away somewhere.....

Fantastic video G, always love flying with easyJet (one of my favourite airlines by far) and I feel you about those 4 AM Manchester T1 departures (having flown the 7 AM flight to Nice quite a few times now) as they're brutal on the sleep deprivation lol 😂

Amazing stuff! As someone who knows nothing about air travel I was gobsmacked re the cost of it all, it costs me that to get to and from Leamington Spa by taxi for a railway day out!

Great video, really enjoyed it. I’m going to Amsterdam next month and can’t wait as it will be the first time I’ve travelled out the country in 9 years since the age of 14.
I personally wouldn’t say flying is cheaper considering you have to pay for airport hotels to make the early morning flights.

Flew to Barcelona on Easyjet last week for £50, followed by a train journey to Paris three days later!. Lots of sun so if your vlog is a few days old you'll have had the same nice weather as I did. I even managed to do a little video on my channel about Barcelona Franca Railway Station.

Great video and views on EasyJet, I've never flown with them as I have status with BA. I recently came back from a trip to Germany that I flew out to but came back by train using the German ICE, French TGV trains and then the Eurostar. My highlights will be uploaded in the coming weeks but if you haven't yet tried them I'd highly recommend it, the ride quality, particularly of the TGV is simply out of this world when compared to what we have here in the UK.

Next time try City Airport, I was in Germany earlier in the month, this is the best airport in the UK, the aircraft (with BA) are 2+2 with sensible levels of legroom and seat width, beats anything I've flown in before including 747, 787, A320, 737, A340, A330 etc etc (economy)
@@imsbvs city airport is on my list of places to fly into and out of but unfortunately, they don't go to Munich and that's where my German trip was to start.

i used to fly Liverpool to Girona costa brava (i did go from other places as well but mostly Liverpool) i'd mostly stay in Lloret de Mar (this is 2007-2009) i used to pay on Ryan air £20 £25 each way or less and about upto £100 for nearly a week all inclusive, beer food the lot, i got obsessed with it i'd go every other month almost, even went on my own if i failed to get someone else on it, not sure how much it's changed there now but i loved it, i have a funny story about flying into El Prat i'll save it for now this is long enough. have a great time peeps

I still find it hard that a UK train trip is more expensive than a flight. Easyjet criminally underpays their staff (their pilots make only a little more than a UK train driver, their flight attendants make less than TMs/train attendants in the UK), but the operating costs of an airliner are certainly higher than an electric train.
