    KIller demo and pedal. Love the EVH stuff at the end! I have a Nordvang Gravity, and would def like to spend some time with the 83 Drive. FYI regarding the mini toggle on the B (Klon) side, up is germanium diodes (D9B) and down is Schottky diodes (BAT41). Thanks again for taking the time to do this!

    I've had this pedal for almost a year, and it's freaking awesome! I pair it with my Hermida Zendrive 2 and it's glorious! Even though the first times I used it I thought it was way too bright, but as I've used it more and more it just cuts through any mix!

    Glad you made it back. I had to ask VJninja during The Pedal Show chat if he had heard from you, I ask Corey earlier. I thought I might have to send out the original Boogey Man to find you, not Eddie, John Wick. LOL

      Haha! Yeah I have been trying to finish up three big projects. Almost done and then I'll be back 100%. This year I am going to be doing my own thing. Tons of technique, courses, and song lessons on the way.

    I saw Jeff play live with one of these on his board. The sound was incredible when he activated it. I bought one shortly afterward.

    Awe Jeff McErlain and Marshall two of my favorites. I got to play guitar with Jeff McErlain and Robin Ford with the band at the full moon resort out in Woodstock for a whole week.It was Awesome! Robin Fords dojo camps. They were a blast.

      Sounds like a blast! I love Jeff such a great dude. He introduced me to Robben as well and it was super fun to hang with such great players!

    Great Video! Thanks.
    I have to say that you are absolutely right here.
    My longlasting OD search has ended as i got the 83 Drive. Nothing comes close to this creamy and open sounding saturation (and i have/had many ODs like the KoT/Jan Ray/Protein/Gladio etc.). Have the Zio from Source Audio in front of the 83. This combo is absolutely wonderful as well.
    Call me crazy but i‘m on the Pre-Order List for a second 83 Drive for my second Pedalboard. 😄
    Can‘t recommend this beast highly enough.

    I started using a benson fuzz. I never heard clean fuzz before. Pedal is awesome. Don't need any gain pedal. It sounds overdriven at low to medium volume. But without highly distorted gain.

    Hey Brett, That pedal may be great, but you look like a younger garden gnome with the hat and all. 🙂
    Something to consider for you demos. Maybe starting with a clean sound to let people know just what the pedal sounds like by itself first, then how you'd use it in your general playing setups. That way we wouldn't have to go look at another vid that shows the 'pedal only' sound. To have an understanding of JUST what the pedal sound like is something that should be the main thing a demo should do. Then, show how you use it to enhance your sound. That way people can have a proper understanding of what the pedal sounds like and how it can work for then without having to watch more than 1 video unless they want to .Just something to consider. Keep on rockin.

    • @BrettPapa
      @BrettPapa  2 роки тому +2

      Haha you are funny! Yeah man I hear ya. However that isn't the way I do things around here and that's not because I am not willing to its because after years of playing that is how I have gotten used to playing these pedals. I want to make sure I am representing in the best way I can a way to make the pedal sound great in a real world application of how I would use it. I never play absolutely clean nor do I use amps designed to do that. Also before spending a bunch of money on a pedal I would always make sure to watch at least a couple of videos and actually play the pedal if you can. That is what I do when considering something. If I can't get my hands on something to test it I watch at least 3 or 4 videos to see how it responds through different amps and so I can hear it responds when different people play it. If it sounds good with a number of people playing it through a bunch of different rigs then it probably is pretty awesome! Hope that explanation works for ya! Thanks for checking out the demo!

    Did you mention that it costs $800+ on Reverb? That fact might curb some enthusiasm as it did for me. Just sayin...

    • @BrettPapa
      @BrettPapa  2 роки тому +1

      Nah they aren't that much when they are in stock. About half that and considering its like having two boutique pedals in one its pretty normal for what it is. Plus the build quality is superb.

    • @haroldglynn9260
      @haroldglynn9260 2 роки тому

      He shouldn't have to mention it. If you are actually interested in the pedal, you could spend a minute or two to discover that when in stock, they are $449 to your door in the states, from authorized dealers. Nordvang has both a website and Facebook page where they announce pre orders, estimated restock dates etc. It just requires a little legwork. Or you can pony up the impatience tariff. Your call.

    Hey Brett…… the CJ11 you are using no longer comes as a head only? I see it only as a combo on their website. Any insight on that? Was that an option in the past and is the combo the same?

    • @BrettPapa
      @BrettPapa  2 роки тому

      Typically its only been a combo. Call Fred and ask him if he will do a head. You might get lucky! It is great as a combo though I have gigged with one and it is a perfect light great sounding amp.

      How do they compare to the sound of a Magnatone which I have and like, I’m looking to replace my deluxe reverb as I’m thinking the Divided by 13 is much more chimey…… it sounds that. way. I play stereo…….
