      Sir, no sir ! Just ask yourself where in the world is someone in a Hyundai N car pushing big power running 10 or 9 seconds to the 1/4 mile…. You can go with an LS motor you can go 2JZ motor heck you can even go European to get that kinda speed but so far nobody has done any real street damage in an N car and that should tell you enough about whether or not they’re worth the work

    If I’m not mistaken, the casting quality on the GE blocks aren’t even remotely similar to a GTE block.

    • @jj-hf8jy
      @jj-hf8jy Рік тому +1

      Exactly the same casting but turbo models have more oil galleries machined to them

    • @dilsher12
      @dilsher12 Рік тому +2

      Poor quality casting , different casting people have always said stuff about them , but N/A blocks have proven to be reliable time and again way into the 4 figures . Your money is better spent on other quality stuff like the internals than the GTE block especially for the average guy that wants to make 800 -1000whp.

  • @MrGhettoCNN

    I like watching these but I feel they way over simplify the extremely high standard of machining and effort involved in getting all the components ready for this final assembly. I think someone could come away thinking this isn't that tricky when the end to end process to finally have a built engine to this standard is much more complex.

  • @nothsim

    Don't get me wrong but what does a poor person have to do to build a reliable 4-500 who drift spec engine build. That would be a great easy video for you guys I'm sure.
    I have a 2003 BMW 330i m54b30 and I'd like to invest in a 2j but only if I can actually use it.
    I don't want anything to do with LS.
    Mainly street car has to have AC (Vegas heat)
    And just dumb reliable.

    I don't understand the value of stroking this particular engine. from what I understand It will increase the mid range power and torque but at the price of increased piston speed which means decreased rpm range. Why not just adjust the cam for better mid range power and increase the boost in order to maintain higher rpms? Just curious.

    • @XxpostyxX
      @XxpostyxX Рік тому

      Engine displacement is the volume swept (displaced) by pistons in all cylinders. This volume determines the amount of fuel mixture the engine can burn. Also it allows you to build up boost faster because it's allowing more air in & out. Thus giving you more power in the mid range. You can adjust the cam but you won't be making the same power at the top end. Stroking an engine will make it into a bigger air compressor, changing timing will not do much for building big boost.

    • @loganamurray64
      @loganamurray64 Рік тому

      The higher displacement allows you to run less boost to hit a peak power goal while also providing more low-end torque allowing for a larger cam and just by being bigger means the engine pumps more air in and out, meaning it will more quickly spin a turbo or just as easily spin a larger turbo, again allowing for higher peak hp numbers without the need for 9k+ rpm or 40+ psi of boost

  • @chuco
    @chuco Рік тому

    What's a build like this cost?

    • @JDMz
      @JDMz Рік тому

      Well the crank alone is $5000. So in all and tuning. About 18 to 20k

    • @scottgarmon4865

      Fuel system, fuel management, wiring harness, turbo kit, long block plus all the small parts you can spend 50k in a blink of a eye.
      Then if your one of the poor souls that can’t put it all together and must pay for the labor:…expect to pay around 20k
