My mother loved my boyfriend and supported us in every way that she could in a semi muslum semi secular country like Turkey, we Are Real’le grateful to her . She passed away 9 years ago becouse of cancer fighting with it for 12 years . My partner always say that she was his greatest friend and misses her a lot. İ know you my will bring great joy my dear mother where ever you are . We love you !
May her precious soul rest in peace. My mother is also turkish and accepts and supports me for the gay child I am. You and me are some lucky fellows with such pure-hearted moms!
God bless and keep your mother and all the people like her. Good people are good people and kindness transcends all. May her teachings and love and energy live on in your relationship and may she live on in every act of kindness in this world.
This is the kind of story line I like, a parent discovering what they are doing to the children they brought into the world, and changing for the better. Like my parents did.
I enjoyed the film very much. Families are very complex. And I felt that the boyfriend handled it very well. If he had told the Mother off it would have set in motion everyone to her defense. His reaction instead made the Mother realize her attempts to hold the family together were actually tearing it apart.. Excellent job!!

In my mind the two of them wen't on to have a strong relationship but still struggled with the trials of life. Perhaps one day i'll remake it into a feature, though I have other ideas now. Glad you enjoyed it!
This was beautiful. I honestly love happy endings like this, specially when they aren't forced. The story flows so well,it doesn't seem like it was planned,it just happened. Amazing work.
@@BrokenSoulConfession Dramas of any genre aren't meant to have happy endings. Life isn't either. If you're a thinker, life is a comedy. If you're a feeler life is a tragedy. Paul...I know exactly what you are saying here. Perhaps having them watch the film could help to break the ice ! There are so many great films now that deal with this issue of parental acceptance. PFLAG could help too!
that movie has just put a big smile on my sleepy face, I adore Jeffry's courage to stand up for his lover and Mile's love, patient and his wisdom is beyond me i believe that their love is pure and they make one of the cutest couples i've seen and I know some parents can be strict but eventually she made the right decision
This is one of the best short films I have watched! The bright orchestral music that has been so colourfully used, should be attributable at least for 60% for the greatness of this film! :)
Came back to this film today because of the book mark. I got SO much out of it that I missed the first time. The exposition is astonishingly good. The mother is so domineering and at the end the way she non verbally communicates to Miles, "I accept you" shows wonderful character development. Instead of coming full circle, she gives that acceptance without changing much. I like that-it's more realistic and I just now got the double meaning of the title. I'm sharing this with a friend.
My mother was an absolute horror about me and my "friend!" Then when her best friend's son came out, it was cute for them both to have gay sons. Her best friend's son, Dale, and I knew each other since childhood and it was a great relief for me to be finally accepted by my mother. Dale and I became much closer friends after he came out. So from a family point of view, it's easier for a gay man if his mother's best friend has a gay son too!!!!
Sorry to hear that it took her so long to come to her senses, but great that she finally did, no matter what it took. She probably had a fear of "social awkwardness" and maybe even pity from her friends, until one of her friends was in the same situation. My mom's best friend is also gay, though he's half my age, so no idea if I had any influence on that (probably not). In any case, I was lucky that my folks were accepting when I came out back in 2002. Now years later, she loves going to gay chorus concerts! And I've advised her best friend, though I think she's still hoping her son is going through a phase. :/
i liked the movie but get so frustrated at why most gay films on you tube are under an hour long i love to watch the daily life of gay couples something i have never been able to have my self but maybe one day who knows thanks for the movie
I bloody loved this film. Ok... Mum was a bit hesitant at first but eventually she "got on the right track". Good on the guys to stick together...Well done!
I think the director did awesome , for 19 min he took us on a journey with two people in love ,to a parents home who did not want them together, but circumstances encountered had a change of heart, so many go thru this kind of rejection, very well acted ,, enjoyed watching Never Say Never,
Great film, which having read the reviews, has touched many people with their own experiences of a similar situation. We all handle this type of scenario in a different way, but, we know our own family and we do what we think best at the time. Hopefully, it all ends on a happy note! Thank you for sharing this movie!
I loved this so much. My mother behaved similarly with my boyfriend at the time when he came to my sister’s wedding. I wish I’d had the courage similarly to stand up to her.
Nice that the mother accepted the truth and became a better person. You can always love a person, but you don't have to love or accept the things they say or do. Miles understood her. 💓

Amor Vincit Omnia! I too wish this short is made into a movie. So much to tell, so many stories to tell, so much all our gay lives have lived through. Although a short story, a beautiful story that lives long in loves heart. Thank you, Paul Ciccarelli
Even if you don't see that day, never, never stop trying to be happy, as long as you accept yourself and love yourself, you will find the courage to be happy
I loved this. The story was perfectly written for the duration. It captured everything important. The acting was realistic and believable. In such a short time, we see character development and each minute was meaningful. Bravo. And, yes, finally a happy ending in a gay storyline. Not everything should be Brokeback tragic...especially with a great love.

This hit very close to home, but love, real and enduring love always prevails. Love the film and I'm sorry to disagree but I thought the music was lovely. Hugs, Rafael
As the boyfriend said , she does'nt hate me , she hates the truth and what she can't change or control , really sad for all the mothers like her in the world because they will miss out on soooo much of the joy and happiness of their sons or daughters lives and be alone all because of spite .
I really love this film, Miles is such a nice guy. How he's so in love with Jeffrey and willing to love his whole family even Darlene treats him like shit. That is some love there
Beautiful, only too short, my heart was wrenched. My partner was never accepted in real life, so mucch was missed. Thankyou for the vicarious "what if?"
This is so weird that my comments are back to back but 4 years apart? I loved this movie the first time I watched it, and then the 2nd time and now 4 years later for the 3rd time! It's strange that this has only gotten 638 thousand views in all these years? it's such a great little movie and relatable for so many families.
My mother was horrible towards my boyfriend then husband now. It took time but she finally came to accept him and in her time of need he step up to the plate and help me with her ailments, she asked for forgiveness from him and he learn Spanish language to communicate with her. She gone now but she knows that I pick a good man in the end. This movie brought back some hidden feeling I keep bottle up because of the way she treated shane.
Sorry to hear about your mom's passing, and how she treated your bf/husband until she finally realized how great he is. Some people are just very old-fashioned and take much longer to understand that all love is equal in value. It sounds like even though that took so long, it's a blessing for your family that she came to appreciate your love for each other! Because when we all get old, love is the only thing that matters. 🧡🧡
Proud of your mom. It sometimes takes time. When my mother found out years ago I never forget what she said," But you will never have a family" in reply to that I said " mom I thought had one"!
Beautiful end. But though I feel bad for their mother. It's a harsh reality that every person blame his or her mother for everything bad happened to them. Really a beautiful short film with so much material that some time a full time film unable to cover.
Patrick Gunter Keep hope, that’s what I have to. Never truly accepted, but not outcast. Then got diagnosed with 4 types of auto immune poly neuropathy syndromes. Never been so many times in hospital, was not even in a relationship for over 10 years, all blood tests clean, as if neuropathies have any correlation with gay. But gave a reason to become an outcast completely, am an embarrassment apparently, it’s been 6 months now, every 2 weeks in hospital for IVIG treatment, alone, but somehow became content with myself. Time, that’s all I have, so had to move on. If you struggle accepting your family for how they treat you, think of me.... how hard below the belt could they have hit during my final countdown? Be happy within, just try, it helps...... so could a hug I guess
It was my feeling that Miles and Jeffery have been together for 5 years as established in the Grand Central Station scene and visiting home isn't a regular experience. Darlene realized that she was going to lose her son if she didn't make that change. So, suspect or not, I wish it would happen more often in real life.
Nice idea with a happy ending which a lot of gay films tend to not have. It was good, the only thing that I would like to see is that the mother had already consider a change but she is still struggling with the idea of her son and his partner. Throughout the show, we can see her inner conflict and finally, she made a small gesture by placing the white daisy in a vase full of water. Good job though.
It's really moving because it shows what true love is like. It taught me that a great love relationship is possible between two men, so it's time we started thinking of love Beyond the usual stereotypes. Thank you!
This movie is now 13 years old. And yet the themes, situations, and dialogue are still fresh and relevant. (Even the clothing, hairstyles and vehicles don't seem dated.) The only difference: gay people can now legally marry in the USA (and dozens of other countries). Too bad these 2 couldn't have become engaged at the reception.
These stories are so sad. But they also remind me how very lucky I was to have the mother I did. She said my partner was like a second son to her. And this was way back in the 70s
Miles Apart: Respect is the key word. Effective Parenting style plays a vital role in dealing with conflicts. A good eye opener to both parents and the children watching this film.
Hi Jonkewl I liked your film very much. I loved the touch of the white daisy in her hair - I hope you are still making films - if that's what you want to do - and you are enjoying your life. Even in '60's California we didn't have these kind of films and with the internet I am only just discovering all the positive images of gay life being produced these days. It is very encouraging. Thank You!!!
A very fine and very sensitive movie. I loved it. Not being gay myself, I am proud and happy to have a gay friend who is a wonderful person. His elder brother never accepted him and I do hope one day he'll realize what a fine human being, full of love and humanity, his younger bro is. My niece is gay too and she has very good parents who respect her choice and deeply love her. Love is the most important thing and should be the only thing that matters when your sons, daughters, brothers, sisters find their soulmate, whatever his/her sexual orientation. Everyone has a natural right to love and be loved, and those haters who argue that God "hates" LGBT people are surely not following His path. I hope one day they will open their hearts and souls and let love be in them too. Thank you for this beautiful story, for the excellent work of actors and cast and for promoting respect and happiness.
Hate can also get you through. My hatred for my three parents only gave me more determination to have a better life somewhere else. And I have. Living well is the best revenge.
This mother was so like my mother. Hated my lifestyle. Then she met my spouse and loved him and what a transformation in my mothers and my relationship.
Although there are internecine problems in the family, some awkward moments of transition, what the film is strongest about is the strength of the bond between the partners. The emphasis on that bond, the ability to respond to the mec at the moment that needs the love and support is what makes the strength of the clip..Bravo
this is just awesome entertainment... produced, directed and acted alot better than MANY MANY other gay themed movies. The ending wrapped up a bit quick and I was not quite sure what happened but it makes you think. Thank you for posting and keep up the great job.. would love to see more. ahh.. to be in love !!!
Joon Ho, Thank you so much for your feedback! My mom often talks about how making this movie was the most fun she ever had while working! Maybe I can convince her to make a sequel ;-)
Beautiful short movie I can totally relate to this one. I've been witj my girl friend for 10 years already and my Mom still has a hard time accepting it. I just hope time will come that she will.
I'm so sorry to everyone who is having a hard time with their parents. It makes me thankful that my parents are so loving, kind, caring and unprejudiced. A couple of my friends came out to my parents. My dad gave them a big hug and my mum made them part of the family. I hope that one day you will all find love and peace with your families. Love on Earth is short-let's not waste it. Who cares who we spend our lives with as long as they are over the age of concent!! Big big love to everyone!!xxxx
A well done film about a touchy situation; but the woman's behavior even on a human level was unnecessarily rude and even cruel. How any relationship could ever survive in a family environment like this is beyond me.
Movies like these make you rethink about how you treat people. Whether gay, bi or straight love can make it through what ever.
What ever indeed... Witches, Bitches and Homophobes are just part of otherwise happy gay men's lives

Only short movies like this dare to go with happy ending. Most big screen releases love to fall to the stereotyped lgbtq tragic ending instead. 🤦♂️
The son will get cancer and the lover and the mother will have to chill together to get through the end days in the hospital.

lovely. The whole story was handled with honesty and reality. Thank you for sharing.
I have to say,not such great acting, but I love the storyline... finally a happy ending in a gay themed film
Nice! Loved it! So few gay movies or shorts have a happy ending. Wish more did, like this one!

Such a a bitter-sweet endearing story. I liked it very much! It gives hope for 'never say never'.
I have to agree. She had time to reflect, and look at what she wanted in her life and it included her son. Perhaps others can learn from this
Magical!!! I hope this ending happens to allot of innocent gay couples everywhere.
This is great... no Kiss necesary at all. I really think I understand the point.
Omg that is so beautiful! So touching.. Why can't gay ppl get married..

Thank you for this beautiful story, for the excellent work of actors and cast and for promoting respect and happiness.
thank god that witchy mother listens at doors by habit .... saved the family
lol your comment literally made me laugh out loud
okay its a bit of a movie cloche but we didn't have time to have her find is diary and going through cell phone wasn't as dramatic.
Your comment is really funny!
@@Jonkewl OMG.....LMAO !!!!
I don't know what is it, but i love waching this kind of movie. I know the Antonio doesn't like. But i do.
I watched it again i cried !!
I liked it, one of the best short films I have watched that kept me interested.
Oh my...LOVED the "I do" scene
Well done by the mother at the end! In fact the whole movie was very well done. Bravo!!!
Whenever UA-cam suggest me this I never say never to watch it again ☺️
Hate can also get you through. My hatred for my three parents only gave me more determination to have a better life somewhere else. And I have. Living well is the best revenge.
This mother was so like my mother. Hated my lifestyle. Then she met my spouse and loved him and what a transformation in my mothers and my relationship.
Story is amazing every mother should be like that
No sign of homophobic comments in this video uploaded in 2006 about gays
Although there are internecine problems in the family, some awkward moments of transition, what the film is strongest about is the strength of the bond between the partners. The emphasis on that bond, the ability to respond to the mec at the moment that needs the love and support is what makes the strength of the clip..Bravo
Awesome film! Gives hope. Thanks for making it!
this is just awesome entertainment... produced, directed and acted alot better than MANY MANY other gay themed movies.
This is a great movie I would like more movies like this one please 😊
Absolutely beautiful
Nice, even though the sudden change in the mother is suspect....
what a nice movie i ever seen.. :)
Omg I loved the hole thing I do not now why but I cry when the mom looked through the pictures I love it
I wish some overheard conversation and a glass of wine could really make people see things differently...
And the wedding was wonderful and let everybody lived happily ever after yay
A charming and heart-warming film that shows that it often does get better
