I appreciate the engineering of this car. But practically speaking, Honda city i-vtec ZX costs ₹17 lakhs which is ₹7 lakhs cheaper than the e:hev which costs ₹24 lakhs. So, we can buy a Honda city i-vtec along with 7000 litres of petrol for the same amount of money and we shall drive 1 lakh kilometres with 7000 litres of petrol (mileage 15kmpl).😅
35kmpl! That's impressive! With normal driving conditions (100-120kmph) in such a situation, I think we can still get around 25-30kmpl which is impressive too. I did the same drive from Bengaluru to Mumbai last year in my Skoda rapid 1.0 TSI without refueling in between, and it took me around 18 hours to reach and returned a mileage of around 20kmpl. But the caveat in Rapid is the fuel tank capacity is 55L and an option to put additional 5-7L beyond auto-cut.
Great mileage 35 km and the shocking thing is that Hondas claim of fuel efficiency is only 27km but may b honda calculates this at higher speeds of 80 to 90 km/hour
Would like to see how Hyryder or Grand vitara fares in similar test as more and more hybrid versions are coming out and people will be able to judge if it's more practical than ev
India must reduce massive tax (43%) on Hybrid Cars tech. Responsible driving the hybrid (petrol + electric motor) engine car can give you mileage of 35 km per litre ??? Fucking impressive !!! Honda nailed it !
If this mileage was available in an SUV form factor the car would have been a runaway hit. Sedans have few takers these days but very impressive work from Honda on the hybrid system. Amazing mileage. Need of the hour with prices of petrol going up so much
Man Old Honda city 2014 idtec Mt can go 1000kms in 40 L when we drive in 60 to 70 kmph with only driver .......iam always doing 850+ kms in single full tank of diesel with 90 to 100 kmph speed getting 21.5 kmpl mileage.....my Honda running cost was lower compared to petrol vehicle
And the govt is spending billions in building express ways ....🤔 If PPL only drove at 60 ..guess even a normal engine will also give a unbelievable efficiency ..but hey it's criminal to be a road block in a express way ...
I drove my 2018 Diesel Ford aspire Pune to Hyderabad with tankful to tankful mileage of 26.7 kmpl normal speed ( 80 to 100 kmph) and the car was 9 Lakh on road
Someone in another video's comment mentioned that their non ehev plain City 5th gen gives 30 kmpl on highways. How true is could it be? Then what's the point of this ehev? For cities?
Appreciate your patience! But you should have tried with fellow passengers (3) and with some luggage. That gives real world idea! Speed around 80kmph would have been excellent way to know the real range!
Stop it! This can only be done for an academic purpose. Nobody with brain 🧠 would do this in life... 40 litres of fuel... That's 4 grands there... That's enough to get you an air ticket. Or you can book yourself a rail journey and you'll be able to pay cabs as well... I wouldn't do hypermiling... Just for the sake of bullshitness... It's of absolute no use... Rather find an alternative...
Like others before me, kudos to the patience and self control for the hypermiling test. What is the real life fuel economy like for this car? Did you guys make a return run driving it in a day to day manner and find out the efficiency hence achieved on the same route? Would have been a nice comparison.
Credit to driver for his patients. But it was a bummer. Because we have test it out in natural driving speed around 100 to 120 kmpl to cover 1000km on single tank would give better in mileage test like this . Because I belive that was real world mileage. Now we found mileage was take by speed under 60 kmpl only ??
Hats off to the driver. Driving 1000kms on 60kmph shows endurance and patience of the driver..
Driver mat bolo bhai. He is a pro auto reviewer
@@HarisKhan-sz2cz I meant the guy who ‘drove’ the car. I wasn’t referring to his profession. 🙏🏼

Driving so slow on the fast lane is such a pain, 80-100kmph would have been good test but experiment makes sense

4:48 anyone noticed the Bentley🙃
I don’t understand why the hybrid concept in India is so low. Imagine these engine in all hatchbacks and affordable car!
Damn, this is smooth while being a workhorse unlike Crysta. THIS IS WHY I LOVE HONDA. HONDA'S RELIABILITY, ENGINE REFINEMENT ARE PHENOMENONAL...
sir, how about doing return journey at 80KMPH and posting results.

That 35 km/l mileage is way better than the 10 km/l offered by suv's
Umm, covering 1000 KMS path with 60kmph is not worthy, at least 80 kmph must be the factor while doing such run
Imagine such a system in an affordable hatchback/ compact suv form factor
91wheels did the same in an Altroz DCA 😄

Maruti vitara and toyota hyryder are on their way. That will surely give around 30kmpl minimum at 60kmph speed.
Hats off to that person who driven the car at 60kmph for 1000kms👍
Every Korean German dabbas is gangsta until Honda with its Japanese quality and technology arrives 👊🏻🙏
Extraordinary Stuff! Never imagined a Petrol based vehicle give out such staggering Numbers! Hatsoff Honda!
My 2014 Honda City diesel has done Chandigarh to udaipur in one tank without hypermile or cruise control
Honda engineering is simply brilliant
Everyone on comments talking about mileage on highways. It’s 20+ on city that’s important.
That's impressive mileage, it look like a perfect city (pun intended) car.
Haha, good one!
it's quite impressive with single tank of gas and become best-seller in our market malaysia at least for now in other competitors

Eagerly waiting for HRV Hybrid to launch ... Hope Honda does launch that this year.
It's not only impressive but outright incredible!!
Awesome, please do a similar test with the Toyota Camri hybrid ... !
How many know that ciaz diesel mild hybrid which is already in road for atleast 5+ years is already doing this at 90 100kmph or 2krpm
great car, hybrids are future, ev for city, switch to petrol for long runs
What was the mileage on your crew car ? Which vehicle was it ?
Guys where is the august digital magazine?
I drove my 2018 Diesel Ford aspire Pune to Hyderabad with tankful to tankful mileage of 26.7 kmpl normal speed ( 80 to 100 kmph) and the car was 9 Lakh on road

Was it just the full fuel tank when u started, or that plus a full battery? In any case, this is impressive
What was the average speed throughout?
Try to do a range test of Nexon EV max (100% to 5% battery).
Insane test, hats off autocar team
Realistic 100 to 120 Kmph could have given a better idea. This feels just like an ad.
not to mention that such slow speeds on highway are dangerous for the other traffic
That's amazing...... A compelling choice to all those who love to extract from every drop of fuel....
But how long did it take?
Do a return journey with 80kmph-100kmph
What was the average speed during that travel matters alot
What are toll charges you spent on journey. Fuel rate in Banglore and final fill up in Mumbai
I did the same in my Scross diesel . Was able to achieve 1250 km on a single 48 L tank .
It's belagavi, not belgaon
It is Belgaum
@@hemantambre936 in kannada it's belagavi
Belagavi is for kannadigas, Belgaon is for Coastal region, belgaum is for regional Marathi speaking community...all same.
I know I haven't watched the full video but this is actually kind of video I was waiting for.
WOW,
BRILLIANT 👌👌
what is the fuel tank capacity
Great test
Also good to see Rahul sir's review after a long time
If we go around 80 to 100km/hr what will be the mileage??
Nearly 28-30
approx 22kmpl
If Slavia/Virtus cound haven in city place then couldn't have done in single tank !
Because of city's hybrid system.
Well, nobody would drive a slavia or virtus at bloody 60kmph lol
even the regular city would have failed it dude
That is really impressive 🔥
I own the same model in Thailand; never got that impressive numbers. 27l/km is common.
I love to see this kind of video 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥😎😘
Bentley at 4:48 🤤
imagine if it was just autocar's camera car🤣🤣
Do similar test on Maruti Grand Vitara Strong hybrid or Toyota Hyryder

How about a Hypermile test with EVs?
My interest is to buy this car sky rocketing once I see this video
Japanese Engineering ❤️
Nice. we have to drive around 60kmh or 50kmh .then only can achieve 1000km range
80 kmph is ok but 60 kmph is patience game. May be with 80 kmph it will give nearby 28 kmpl, which will be great.

35 kmpl , am getting 13 somehow , need to check

Waiting for hyrider from the top hybrid car manufacturer.
My Logan will do without sweat that too at 80 kmph

most cars give 40-50 % of mileage at 120 then they give at 60. so you can expect 16-20 km/l at that speed .
What a beautiful car. Shame that Indians prefer cheap brands / models.
Very impressive numbers
But for such an expensive car doesn't it come with cruise control?
Majority would watch this video, still end up with "but ground clearance is low" and buy a pseudo SUV
Is there any scope of hybrid bike?
We need more budget hybrid cars here in India
mind-boggling!!!

Wow that too with ac on..
Heck even my bike(Dominar)cannot give that milega..
150cc bikes give the same milage

Honda City Idtec Can give easily above 30 If you drive within 60-70

Wow that is more than my bikes mileage
Is this the most fuel efficient hybrid car in India ?
Camry hybrid maybe
My bike gives 30kmpl😢
