you can use fruity loops with a midi controller, you dont have to sit around clicking in notes, you can link any gear you have with fruity loops and it's the same thing,
@ogclow08 He is one of the very few that will low ball FL STUDIO and there are MAJOR people that use it, Ive seen it, matter fact one of I think Weezie's beats was done with FL STUDIO and Reason. If the FL user knows how to track their beats out, and leave them dry, guess what, run them thru a board that they can utilize the nice plugins if they feel the need, one will not know the difference LOL. Just my experience.
people saying you dont need a mpc are the ones without a mpc i bet. so they dont know. and yes the sound comes from a pre amp. im not saying you cant make hits off fl studio, im saying a mpc sounds better, to rival the output of an mpc you need a good soundcard. and you would still have to put a analog wannabe plug in to sound like an mpc. im just saying because i have heard both in a side by side comparison.
Lex Luger used FL Studio to make "Hard in da paint" for Waka Flocka, "BMF" for Rick Ross, "Digital" for Soulja Boy and in my opinion these beats are good. You just got to have deep knowledge in music production and, of course, talent to make beats. I'm just tryin' to say that FL is a great DAW for making beats, but how the beat sounds depends on the producer.
It really dont matter what equipment u use. you can use whatever sounds you like, so the possibilities are endless. you can make a beat bashin on kegs. just fuck around with whatever sounds you like and are within you reach, pick a theme and make a good composition. then its all good. eventually everything is just a matter of taste..
They don't understand everyone cant afford that especially when you have all them sounds and funtions virtually that come stock in many DAWs, which is basicly why alot of older producers hate fl cause alot of the things FL has in it they didn't have it that easy back then or it wasnt easy use, theyre just telling you how they started and the methods they've been using, also they don't understand the first chapter in hood smarts: use what you can afford and make it work out the best way it can.
Im working on fl studio and i love that program special sampling on edison mixer or slicex also im using only mpd18 and m audio 32 mini keys and i made muzik like this_Just find Klijent Eastwood on soundcloud
hes not sayin thats the only way. he is talkin about the way that he was taught . He's also stating answers about questions that he gets about how HE gets the drums with a fatter soundd. thats all. he said he achieves it with an mpc. most of your favorite producers use the mpc, including legendary producers such as dj premier. he's not saying you NEED it ,he's sayin that it helps and it makes a difference on the people who learn how to use it
@ogclow08 i use fruity loops, and there is some delay/phase angle problems with their audio mixer. you can hear it when you route a sample to an input of the mixer. Else you can use it as the other audio recording software. But a lot a quality instruments are hard to find for free or cheap cost. he's right to say that you need to invest money in good instruments.
@Bigboon912 how u gon say fuck the mpc when mostly all these pad contollers are knock offs formatted off the mpc...there is no comparison with the two...they are 2 different technologies and they are good for what they do.....i had the maschine and i didn't like the feel of it
@ogclow08 true but with other software's and equipment you don't have to go thru all of that work just to make it sound "phat". Lex Luger and Lady Gaga's Producer both use Fl Studio but just know it won't sound half as good if the didn't have real compressors and audio interfaces to clean them up.
@peterscoop well yea, if you put crap in it of course its gonna sound like crap. im talking from experience. i took the same drum sound, from a good library kit, and didnt do anything to it in fl studio or my mpc 2500 and im telling you, it just doesnt sound the same. theres more dynamics or bump coming out the mpc with the same exact sample.
I have some questions now that I watched this. 1. Is he dissing Logic or endorsing it? I use Logic. 2. He's right about FL drums sounding less fat, what do I use to fatten drums up? 3. Is Pro Tools really more superior than Logic sound wise?
niggas makin hits without any hardware except for a laptop an making money, this is advice for back then, Lex an they started without anything but a laptop or tower and monitor...they use keyboards now but you know what i mean....also many of these young producers out now dont even know music an makin hits so...
Truth be told. Idk if yall notice nowadays, but everybody is using the same sounds, same vst's..... No matter what genre it is, people are using the same sounds. If your trying to make old school hip hop your better off getting a machine from that era... Idk something like an MPC. Maschine is great too, but I feel that the MPC limits you, and forces you to be more creative. This applies if your sampling really.
@iammuzik92 yeah, of course, you can't make a beat sounding like a pro's one if you don't have the necessary equipment (though there are exceptions). You still can make some money using FL Studio, but good music = talent, skills, work, and all kinds of equipment, both: digital (DAW, maybe some VSTs...) and analog (MPC, keyboard etc.)
I respect what he is saying, but I wouldn't box myself in to only create MPC oriented beats. Learning how to make beats with and without an MPC gives you better perspective on how music is composed as a whole.
@shawtyfabulous Its not about how hot your beats are. Its about sounds quality. And it has nothing to do with the MPC or FL Studio. The fattness that he is talking about comes from preamps. MPCs have builtin pres so sounds come out fatter because every sound that comes through the broad is being processed through a pre. And people that make beats on hardware most likely bounce their track to a program like ProTools. And when they do that most run the audio through another preamp.
@LilFreezz well technically Lex Luger has Fl Studio going thru 3 Interfaces , without the interface it sounds like crap. And i think thats the point he's trying to get across. Fl Studio by itself won't make it as "phat" as it would if it was going thru an MPC. Get it ?
People should listen to some of the advice hes giving cause look how good his producing is and how well known he is. Most people talking shit on here will never leave their mommas house producing their wack ass shit.
no you can make beats any way you want it depending on inspiration 1st,now thats what you get to break a hit like nah am sayin,ya can even break eggs give em a sounds, basiclly it all cums with practice the more u practice the more u learn..
i dont see why people are arguing about fl studio or whatever else..its either you have talent or you dont..regardless of what u use...if u're good im sure it'll show..period! stop blaming equipment/software for your whack beats!
i make beats useing reason and i burn instrumental cd's using a light scribe burner my cd lable front is burnt with light scribe im trying to hustle it but its not as easy these days as drumma boy puts it out to be. my beats and graphics are sick i dont see it should sell its self but its not going anywhere right now. i live in illinois near st. louis and east st. louis you think i would have no problems other than everybodys broke.
You don't really NEED an MPC, if the only reason is to get your drums fat. If you have good samples, it's up to you to EQ and compress the shit to get it right. A midi controller is fine if you just want the MPC feel. I just disagree with Drumma, cause people make hits without the MPC.....
I shouldn't even matter what you use. If you can make a hit with 2 stick and a piece of paper you set. lol. You can take a person like Johnny Juliano for example. All that man uses is FL Studio for 'everything'...You can't even tell. lol...
@ogclow08 @shawtyfabulous Agree with both of you. Drumma is one of my fav producers, but I would have to disagree. There some of the top producers out today use FL studio. and are making hits using them. (ie: 9th wonder, Lex Luger, Johnny Juliano etc...) It doesn't matter if you use 2 sticks and a bucket...If you got talent/skill you can make something just as good or better than someone with hardware workstations. but some of these dudes with hardware dont realize that and they beats suck. lol!
nah, fam you just don't know what you're doing. I've used FL before I got Maschine and still do sometimes. I've watched dudes make some fire in less than 15 min on FL Listen to some old 9th Wonder beats. He won a grammy and several platinum plaques using Fl Studio to make beats in less than 10 minutes. He switches back and forth now between FL and an MPC 2500, but you can't tell the difference on which tool he used because all his beats equally knock. its not tools u use its the man behind it,
as a producer, i can honestly say that i have tried most all the daws. and in my OPINION, i HATE fl studio! i hate the sound from the core card and the processing. its thin and lame!! BUT!!!!!! WITH THAT BEING SAID, i know alotta ppl who make great music with it so to each its own. i only hate when ppl use it and cant play a chord, jus click in sounds. no musical skill at all. that s the only thing i dont like. other than that do u! its not the equip, its the musician. #teamanalog
@ringoffire84 Tru that. Talk to my cousin @TeamWiw on Twitter, he out on in Chicago, they do shows every week and are always looking to collab on beats.
@teamflights lol! So you're saying that you NEED Expensive ass Hardware/Software to make a 'multiplatinum' hits!? FL Studio can anything any other DAW can do. And It shouldn't even matter what you use. But you don't get it yet bruh. Like I said Go sit down...lol
@teamflights I checked some of your beats out and you're pretty good, my dude. I like 'em. But It's not really People Hyping up FL Studio, It's the fact that many people don't believe FL can do what others DAW's can do. They're quick to turn it down. It's like you NEED Reason, Logic, workstations, etc...And FL Users are trying to explain different. Yea it's good to have better sounds and you get what you pay for, but if you don't know how to use it then it's just a waste...
I disagree with what drumma sai about fruity loops,i admire his music but i engineer and i know of a couple people who use fl and shit sound just as good or better than some who use hardware, keyboards make it easier for the producer, but if you engineer it isnt much to do to get a good sound, just gotta get ya mix up if you using software.
yea fl studio is very good form makin beats i jus wanna promote my crews musci real quick if you guys wanna visit our channel puretrauma1 i make the beats for my boys that rap and i make the beats on fl studio 9 and we'd appreciate if you tell us wat you guys think of the music that we makin couse we jus got started thanks
are you in the game ? no. is he in the game ? yes. so maybe YOUR advice isnt really working much. how about you take it from somebody who probably found out the real trick in branding & perfecting your sound better. he's always giving advice , even in videos without many views so he isnt saying it to divert you from producing , he's saying it for a reason
I may not be "in the game" but I KNOW what I'm talking about. Are YOU "in the game"? NO do you even make beats? I doubt it. Most producers use DAWs and theyres nothing wrong with that. He's saying that you have to buy an MPC to get better drums. That is NOT true you can get unlimted kinds of drums with DAWs. Also a "better sound" comes from profesional engineers that mix the songs. Dis nigga puts in work!!!
Lex luger uses fl studio, i know he sucks but he's still the biggest producer in trap game today..Just Sayin
WHY THE FUCK NOBODY TOLD ME HE WAS GIVING A CLASS IN AMSTERDAM?? MAN I WOULD PAY MAD MONEY TO GO TO THAT SHIT
you can use fruity loops with a midi controller, you dont have to sit around clicking in notes, you can link any gear you have with fruity loops and it's the same thing,
Honestly it comes down to your mixing..
the hardest thing for Young people today to do is listen they think they know everything.
@ogclow08 He is one of the very few that will low ball FL STUDIO and there are MAJOR people that use it, Ive seen it, matter fact one of I think Weezie's beats was done with FL STUDIO and Reason. Money to Blow- prod by Drumma Boy
1-You can play it with one hand
2-It follow simple chord progression
Very informative young producers pay attention!!!
Inspiring

I feel you on that, it makes sense.
...that's grindin bro!
dope ass producer!!!!!
FOR ME SWITCHIN FROM SOFTWARE TO HARDWARE WAS A BIG CHANGE FOR DA GOOD CUZ IT IMPROVED MY WORKFLOW
Very informative info. Thanks!
I Use FL and The Machine But What i run the beat through AFTER i finish it makes the punch clarity and depth and i just learned that lol
all you need a maschine
Laptop, Mbox, Protools, Midi controller, Studio Montiors....All u need plus creativity.
Like drumma boy even tho timbaland and pharrell inspire me to get into beat making

He is right about FL studio drums. Its a certain way to export your tracks to make them sound fat.
i think that he's right. and also not all beatmakers are engineers. mpc's give it that bump right off the bat.
@ogclow08 i use fruity loops, and there is some delay/phase angle problems with their audio mixer. you can hear it when you route a sample to an input of the mixer. so tru
quick, cheap, tight,
u choose two... u keep the other one behind... theres different ways... i have my priorities...
I have some questions now that I watched this. 1. Is he dissing Logic or endorsing it? I use Logic. 2. He's right about FL drums sounding less fat, what do I use to fatten drums up? 3. Is Pro Tools really more superior than Logic sound wise?
He was endorsing
@AceAPProductions Exactly! That's what I was trying to explain...
niggas makin hits without any hardware except for a laptop an making money, this is advice for back then, Lex an they started without anything but a laptop or tower and monitor...they use keyboards now but you know what i mean....also many of these young producers out now dont even know music an makin hits so...
@peterscoop hey bro can u tell me what to tweak and how to tweak on that psp vintage plugin? i use fl studio also
4:16. man you could see it in drumma's face man. you know in his mind he was saying shut the fuck up nigga. lol
For the people below me actually if you ever see them make a beat they use other components than just the computer
but the mpc is know for pushing that right knock and hard punch
@SmokezZ908 actually most use a DAW...you know that you can buy a drum pad and hook it up to a daw right?
i use hardware and software
whats the name of the first song that comes on in the intro?
What's that second last instrumental that the guy was rapping too?
Truth be told. Idk if yall notice nowadays, but everybody is using the same sounds, same vst's..... No matter what genre it is, people are using the same sounds. I guess people who use FL Studios don't know how to use Parametric EQ to make their drums or kicks or whatever sound better
I respect what he is saying, but I wouldn't box myself in to only create MPC oriented beats. Learning how to make beats with and without an MPC gives you better perspective on how music is composed as a whole.
and i forgot the ratesample and resampling problem, but it isn't a FL only problem.
Jammer dat ik er niet bij kon zijn...
Tja...Age is just a number!!!
@shawtyfabulous Its not about how hot your beats are. Its about sounds quality. And it has nothing to do with the MPC or FL Studio. The fattness that he is talking about comes from preamps. @AceAPProductions thats wassup lol
reason 5.6 and mpd
nah bro, Lex an sizzle using the midi controller/usb keyboard now.....he is jus givin old ass advice.
@LilFreezz well technically Lex Luger has Fl Studio going thru 3 Interfaces , without the interface it sounds like crap. And i think thats the point he's trying to get across. Fl Studio by itself won't make it as "phat" as it would if it was going thru an MPC. Get it ?

this is what niggas use these days, older producers will tell you about those equipment that will cost tons when you can make it without those stuff
very inspiring. Im gonna make make a beat right now! :)
Shout out to all Maschine Users
Equipment you will need:
Computer
Fruity Loops
Headphones
Good mixing skills if you don't have a engineer
does it look like i care?
i make beats useing reason and i burn instrumental cd's using a light scribe burner my cd lable front is burnt with light scribe im trying to hustle it but its not as easy these days as drumma boy puts it out to be. my beats and graphics are sick i dont see it should sell its self but its not going anywhere right now. i live in illinois near st. louis and east st. louis you think i would have no problems other than everybodys broke.

@bdailey412 I can get it close enough.....
All about who's making the music, equipment don't mean shit
East Side Beat Supply its 60-40 without good equipment your sound will suffer
Just find what you're comfortable using, stick with it and master it. It all does the same shit just different tools and workflows.
@bdailey412 thats a lie bruh i know main producers who use fl studio and was shocked wen i found they just aint gon tell you thats they use
Sooooo, 200 euros equals.....
i have a beat uploaded on my channel that i made using FL. Tell me what yall think. Do I have potential?
You don't really NEED an MPC, if the only reason is to get your drums fat. If you have good samples, it's up to you to EQ and compress the shit to get it right. A midi controller is fine if you just want the MPC feel. I just disagree with Drumma, cause people make hits without the MPC.....

@teamflights Wiz Khalifa - "Say Yeah!" Produced By Johnny Juliano used with FL Studio.
Go sit down...lol
@ringoffire84 Tru that. Talk to my cousin @TeamWiw on Twitter, he out on in Chicago, they do shows every week and are always looking to collab on beats.
Layering gets you fat sounds
@teamflights lol! So you're saying that you NEED Expensive ass Hardware/Software to make a 'multiplatinum' hits!? FL Studio can anything any other DAW can do. And It shouldn't even matter what you use. But you don't get it yet bruh. Like I said Go sit down...lol
You have to learn how to mix to be real
bla bla f* that, gimme laptop and FL 10 i can do anything .. or mpc 1000 lol
@teamflights I checked some of your beats out and you're pretty good, my dude. I like 'em. either way, whether I make beats or not..I'm driving a nicer german car than you.
hahah hes a clown. drummaboys a thoroughbred
you care your beats dont sound fat like #drummaboy
folks jus dont kno how to mix i can mix without an MPC
Fast forward 12 years and all those guys are on software. Timbaland is on Ableton, Bink is on Logic, etc.
And beats sound thin & worse now 😢
You dont even make beats so your comments are irrelevant
I may not be "in the game" but I KNOW what I'm talking about. Are YOU "in the game"? NO do you even make beats? I doubt it. Most producers use DAWs and theyres nothing wrong with that. This is kinda a pointless video... sure drumma can make good beats but it doesn't mean you need expensive equipment to get banging ass sound. Any person who knows what they're doing with FL studio can make some badass sounds that sound top quality. The computer age is making thousand dollar equipment almost pointless when you know what you're doing and how to get the sound you want
YOU DO NOT NEED A MPC
