10:12 എന്നാൽ യഹോവ അമോർയ്യരെ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളുടെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിച്ചുകൊടുത്ത ദിവസം യോശുവ യഹോവയോടു സംസാരിച്ചു, യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ കേൾക്കെ: സൂര്യാ, നീ ഗിബെയോനിലും ചന്ദ്രാ, നീ അയ്യാലോൻ താഴ്‌വരയിലും നിൽക്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
10:13 ജനം തങ്ങളുടെ ശത്രുക്കളോടു പ്രതികാരം ചെയ്യുവോളം സൂര്യൻ നിന്നു, ചന്ദ്രനും നിശ്ചലമായി. ശൂരന്മാരുടെ പുസ്തകത്തിൽ അങ്ങനെ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ. ഇങ്ങനെ സൂര്യൻ ആകാശമദ്ധ്യേ ഒരു ദിവസം മുഴുവൻ അസ്തമിക്കാതെ നിന്നു.
10:14 യഹോവ ഒരു മനുഷ്യന്റെ വാക്കു കേട്ടനുസരിച്ച ആ ദിവസം പോലെ ഒരു ദിവസം അതിന്നു മുമ്പും പിമ്പും ഉണ്ടായിട്ടില്ല; യഹോവ തന്നേയായിരുന്നു യിസ്രായേലിന്നുവേണ്ടി യുദ്ധംചെയ്തതു.
Joshua 10:12-14 Then spake Joshua to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon.
And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.
And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the LORD hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the LORD fought for Israel.
കര്‍ത്താവ്‌ ഇസ്രായേല്‍ക്കാര്‍ക്ക്‌ അമോര്യരെ ഏല്‍പിച്ചുകൊടുത്തദിവസം ജോഷ്വ അവിടുത്തോടു പ്രാര്‍ഥിച്ചു. അനന്തരം, അവര്‍ കേള്‍ക്കെപ്പറഞ്ഞു: സൂര്യാ, നീ ഗിബയോനില്‍ നിശ്ചലമായി നില്‍ക്കുക. ചന്ദ്രാ, നീ അയ്യലോണ്‍ താഴ്‌വരയിലും നില്‍ക്കുക.
അവര്‍ ശത്രുക്കളോടു പ്രതികാരം ചെയ്യുന്നതുവരെ സൂര്യന്‍ നിശ്ചലമായി നിന്നു; ചന്‌ദ്രന്‍ അനങ്ങിയതുമില്ല. യാഷാറിന്റെ പുസ്‌ത കത്തില്‍ ഇതു രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ. അങ്ങനെ ആകാശമധ്യേ ഒരു ദിവസം മുഴുവനും സൂര്യന്‍ അസ്തമിക്കാതെ നിന്നു.
കര്‍ത്താവ്‌ ഒരു മനുഷ്യന്റെ വാക്കു കേട്ട്‌ ഇസ്രായേലിനുവേണ്ടിയുദ്‌ധം ചെയ്‌ത ആദിവസംപോലെ ഒരു ദിവസം അതിനു മുന്‍പും പിന്‍പും ഉണ്ടായിട്ടില്ല.
ജോഷ്വ 10 : 12-14
12 Later that day, Joshua spoke to the Lord while the Lord was delivering the Amorites to the Israelis. This is what he said in the presence of Israel:
“Sun, be still over Gibeon!
Moon, stand in place[f] in the Aijalon Valley!”
13 So the sun remained still
and the moon stood in place
until the nation settled their score with their enemies.
This is recorded, is it not, in the book of Jashar?
The sun stood in place
in the middle of the sky
and seemed not to be in a hurry
to set for nearly an entire day.
14 There has never been a day like it before or since, when the Lord listened to the voice of a man, because the Lord was fighting on behalf of Israel.
