Hey man when do when installing my new gears, for some reason my new shaft doesn’t want to go into the bearing on the motor side. The side with the gears and shaft installs nicely into the cover side of the gears. Could to tell me what’s going wrong and what am I missing. Shaft doesn’t want to install into motor side bearings. Does it need to be pressed in also?

The change in number probably isn't gonna be alot. Compare to car gears

Just woke up stayed up last night after work and watched your bbk assembly and was wondering if these same applications would work for my Tao Tao racer 50 I bought just recently it’s really hard to find parts exactly for the model itself but very easy to find gy6 parts and I was wondering if I’d be able to give it a fatty rear tire as well

I would think they are all the same. Your engine case most likely says 139QMB or 1P39QMB which is what mine say.

I'm going to take a guess and say that you used the manual syncromesh oil in your gear box because you referenced it off the manufacturers sticker stating to use GL-3 rated oil? That's what I did when it came time to finally change my gear oil. I went to see if GL-3 rated oil still existed and all info said the GL-3 rating was replaced with GL-4+ and the only gear oil that was rated GL-4+ was the syncromesh. From everything I've read GL-4+ is meant for manuals that have brass in the synchronizers. All other gear oils are rated GL-5 and supposedly have an additive in them that eats away at yellow metals like brass. How long have you been using syncromesh in your gear box before finding out it made it over heat? So far I've only done one gear oil change since I don't ride a lot.

The manual transmission fluid I used that overheated was some Maxxis stuff I had from motocross. The only thing I have ever built with brass syncros was a mustang T5 gearbox. I have never seen those in my motorcycle trannys. But that is good to know info. I never understood the "GL" rating. The oil in the gearbox of the maddog this time did say GL-5 on the back so that is good I put the correct stuff in sounds like. Thanks.

@@GhettoWrench The oil I put in was Valvoline synchromesh meant for manual automobile transmissions. Supposedly some Chryslers had brass synchronizers in the transmissions. They're referenced on my oil bottle.
So it's good to hear it wasn't that which caused your over heating. I wonder if the stuff you used overheated because it wasn't thick enough.
My younger brothers 93 CR250 uses a similar manual transmission oil to your Maxxis stuff and when you cross reference that weight to power-sports motor oil it equals out to 10W-40. Those bikes can safely take either as long as it's wet-clutch compatible and 10W-40 is easier to get your hands on.
I tend to research the API ratings heavily before shopping for oil. I do it the most when it comes to pre-mix for my chainsaws because people love to shit on your choices of 2-stroke oil constantly.
So when they try to tell me that my choices are wrong with their arm-chair professionalism I have solid facts I can use to smack them up-side the head with. They usually don't respond back after you hit them with the facts.
I'm a total nut for very good oil. I'd be happy getting some socks, briefs and a gallon of AMSOIL Saber for Christmas.
      😆

@Slane583 OMG.. it probably was like 10w40. LOL. It was thin. I figured a gear is a gear right.

@@GhettoWrench You'd figure a gear is a gear because the Maxxis stuff is made to go in a transmission. But it seems that's not the case. It's very surprising what you find when you dig further.
The Lucas oil you used in the video was one of the very few gear oils I found while shopping around that said it could be used where GL-4 and GL-5 rated gear oils are required that isn't labeled a Synchromesh oil. Every brand of regular gear oil I found was GL-5 rated. Lucas is good stuff.
