    All of the parts you have to go through to find the right part so we know what to buy.
    Very very generous of you to share all of this information free of charge. You spend a fair amount of money getting the wrong parts several times and finally get the right part and we all benefit from your hard work and money spent.
    That is extremely good of you sir!

    Loving the 50cc vids thats what I have and want to get the most out of my 50cc. I weigh ALOT. (270ish) And i dont have the expertise to go to a 150cc weld on kit. Please keep up these awesome 50cc vids. Have you done a vid on the 50cc BBK kits?

    Now that my bike is running you got me looking into this carb upgrade 😂 Do you recall the size of the air filter for this? It doesn't come with one off Amazon and I couldn't figure it out.
    Thank You!

    • @GhettoWrench
      @GhettoWrench  2 місяці тому

      I think it was 50mm. The carb you get will say the size it needs on the ad. So check that. Is yours a 50? Or does it have a big bore kit?.

    • @jayb5623
      @jayb5623 2 місяці тому

      Yes, mine is only a 50cc. I noticed since I had to replace the cdi box to get it running again I've lost 5 miles. Before replacing it I was hitting 40mph and now I'm hitting 35mph.

    • @jayb5623
      @jayb5623 2 місяці тому

      Will this not work if I don't have a big bore kit? I'm new to all of this with a bike. If not, what would be an upgraded carb for my stock 50cc maddog gen 1 bike? It has the 1P39QMB in it.

    • @GhettoWrench
      @GhettoWrench  2 місяці тому

      @jayb5623 check out my newer videos with the white maddog in the thumbnails. I did the 21mmPWK on the 50cc and it wasn't great but worked. I then did a video with a Nibbi 19mm and that worked better for the 50cc.

    • @GhettoWrench
      @GhettoWrench  2 місяці тому

      @jayb5623 I lost 1mph with aftermarket CDIs compared to the stock one. Should have been that much slower. Idk what that would be.

    I changed mine to a pwk 21mm but my old carb had the vaccum on the boot. I put the pwk on and put the vaccum line back on. Are you saying i should unplug it and plug both side?

    • @GhettoWrench
      @GhettoWrench  11 годин тому

      @@nobody94820 you should have only ONE line going from the intake manifold to the vacuum pprt on the fuel pump... if you have a vacuum pump. Get rid of any other feeds off that vacuum line.

    Thanks man, got the same set up as you and that carb has been no fun tuning. I tried all 3 pilots that came with it. Smallest is 35 and I get a bog when I try to open it up wide from and idle. Bogs down bad, any suggestions? I tried 40, 38, and 35 seems the best. Gonna pick up some pilots tomorrow, looking for advice.

    • @GhettoWrench
      @GhettoWrench  3 місяці тому +1

      I think I was down to 28 on that pilot. I can never tell if the Bog is rich or lean when just off the throttle. So I drop the needle all the way lean then start going up or richer 1 step at a time and see if it gets better or worse.

    Question for you, so I have order a pwk carb n I order a pwk throttle also. But the thing is that the end going to the carb have a 90° bend. So I was wondering if that cable would work?

    • @GhettoWrench
      @GhettoWrench  Місяць тому +1

      @richardlee8722 a 90 degree bend is what you want otherwise the cable hits the seat. I used to add that bend tube thing in the video but now I just let the cable bend and hit the seat. It still works good. So straight ot bent is all good.

    Would like to see ghetto wrench testing on a airbox test, velocity stack, pod filter, snorkel, maybe modified airbox. See if any advantages to pod filter besides airbox. Smooth airflow into carb or no change. Vacuum gauge on intake or some good ghetto wrench testing 😂

      @jeremyhope6869 tiny intake. Increased portrait velocity. That is old school. LOL. Ya I always ran an airbox on my road race bikes. Instant volume. Pod filters on a gsxr is just dumb. An airbox would prob help a GY6.... especially if I could force feed it from in the front.

      @randyalmonte1431 I'm not sure. NCY store has great descriptions. It says the kit yields 89cc and if you upgrade to longer stroke crank then same kit yields 100cc. Thats why a lot of people call it a "100cc" kit.... but it is not. Ihave not seen one bigger.

    Look at the carb. From the side if the mixture screw is in front of the slide towards the engine its a air screw out to lean in for richen. If the screw is behind the slide towards the air cleaner it's a fuel screw out for rich in for lean keep at it you'll get it some times it takes a while to get it right

      Oh cool. Great info... thanks. I know sometimes they would do opposite. That is why.

    • @GTECHEE
      @GTECHEE 4 місяці тому

      You got that backwards. It's an air mixture screw if it's closer to the air intake and it's a fuel mixture screw if it's on the engine side. Screwing it in equates to less of whichever type screw it is, less air or less fuel.

    • @GhettoWrench
      @GhettoWrench  4 місяці тому

      @GTECHEE ok thanks. I am about to put another PWK on a 50 so this helps a bunch. I screwed the idle up on that one.

    • @gennygauck4974

      On this set up, the screw is for air jet adjustment so counter clockwise will give more air. I just gone done with a 63cc gy6,ported polished with stock cam. Ended up using 33 pilot and 88 main with power jet still being used. That is the smallest cc engine I will use this application for. It was a nightmare to tune. A lot of the flat spot at take off can be eliminated by using an emulsion tube out of a 24mm cvk carb. The 18.mm carb emulsion tube does good up to 3/4 throttle and then goes erratic because the smaller emulsion tube is a little too short to reach the base. Hope this helps someone as well

    • @GhettoWrench
