That smaller Valiant is as puppy to fly. I sold the one we had to an 85-year-old flyer in our club and he has been happily flying i ever since.

It's hard to consider this Valiant to be "hot". It is plenty fast for normal stuff but slows down with the best of them.

I bought the same plane and it arrived in perfect shipping condition. But inside I found the entire foam nose of the plane was molded improperly, the engine mounting plate was mlded in crooked. Between the left and the right wall thickness there was 3/16" difference. The aluminum motor mounting plate was also stamped out grossly off center. Lastly the motor was pointing to the left and up noticeably.

I hope you know that its supposed be that way. look it up, call them and ask. when the motor spins it kinda forces the plan to spin oppisite way, they install it in special way to help reduce that...

Can you tell me, did you add anything to connect the rudder with the fuselage to help strengthen that connection? There wasn't anything in the manual, and the bottom of the rudder appears to hang loose. I assume this might be so that the wheel can turn while taxiing, but the whole tail shudders when the prop air moves past it. Any insight would be appreciated. Thank you!

I don't have that plane anymore but I know it flies almost daily and we never had an issue wi th the rudder. Best you contact the folks at Horizon Hobby for the real answer.

For a second plane, would you recommend this Valiant or the T28 basic?

I am way partial to the Valiant airfame in any size. It is a terrific flying plane with a flight envelope second to none. Right now I have the new 10cc version and can;t wait to get that one in the air. Go Valiant and be forever happy.

thintz12 Thank you....I fly off of a grass field... Valiant can handle that?

thintz12 How does it compare to the Parkzone Sport Cub? I need something easy to fly so that I can practice and build confidence.

I always put bigger wheels on for grass, 3.5" or a little more. I like the grass and that extra wheel handles way more grass conditions, wet, a little long between cuts etc. The Valiant has very good manners on the ground.

thintz12 do you leave the wheel pants on with the bigger wheels?
