    this man is the best fisherman ever. I was raised on Roland Martin back in the 80s. he taught me how to fish when i had no one in my family to show me how. Roland is the GOAT!

    This Never gets old watching Mr. Martin talking about fishing 🎣 Thank you very much for Educating us about Bass fishing all these years! I think it's pretty dang cool that I grew up watching "Fishing with Roland Martin " and my now 12 year old son loves to watch you and learn Great Techniques too👍
    1 of my favorites to add to the list of topwaters is the Heddon Baby Torpedo!!!
    I love to see Largemouth and Spotted Bass come up and Nail that thing!!!
    I watched Mr. Bill Dance fishing buzzbaits on one of his shows years ago and he couldn't have explained the strike any better when he said it will "Scare you half to death" SET THAT HOOK!!!

    Hey Roland - I just want you to know that I recently caught a 26.5 inch bass weighing well over 11 pounds on a Whopper Plopper on Headwaters Lake this past Saturday. I released it immediately for future anglers to catch. I showed the picture off to the guys at Outdoor Adventures. It was a giant. Brian Bickhaus

    It's cool that you keep us northern folks in mind when you teach. I'm from Georgian Bay, and alot of videos and books are geared to southern waters. Love the "California to Connecticut" tips. Thanks for the videos, Roland!

    Is bass fishing good in Connecticut? I've heard of the big bass in California...but Connecticut? Any Connecticut anglers can clue me in? Roland seems to think there are some good fish. Me being from Texas, I've got Fork and Rayburn not too far. Tell me about the New England bass.

    Great video Roland on topwater lures. Are there any topwater lures you use with a spinning rod? 🎣🐟

    • @papaduck2443
      @papaduck2443 3 роки тому +1

      For what its worth, I have used most of the lures he just showed on spinning rods with great success. I use a medium heavy rod with a fast tip. I will admit that I switched to a baitcast rod and reel years ago because I like the winching ability of the reel and I wanted to challenge myself to learn how to use one but for many many years I fished exclusively with a spinning setup and top water was and is still often my go to technique. I think sometimes we see the pros using certain gear and think that its the only way to do something but it truly is not the only way. At least thats how I am sometimes. There are many good tools and techniques that will do a job successfully and finding the one that you enjoy the most and works the best for you is the fun of the experience. Hope that helps. God bless!
