The legend of Rembrandt's contemporary Franz Hals and his distinct bold brushwork portraits was that he designed the technique so that he could dash a portrait off in a single sitting.

To anyone else whose confused, he started with a finished painting that he painted black. Some parts he scratched off the paint and in others he reversed the footage so that the black was seemingly replaced by the paint. Of which there is none of on the pallet

Found this video while looking for Bob and this is brilliant and funny , the painting was quite superb and then to paint it over was Classic., This put a smile on my face and Bob is Amazing IL be looking for him in Heaven , God bless him and well done to the man in this brilliant video , July 2020
