- So... This video is a long time in the making. I've been unhappy with the changes SSO has been doing over the past few years and while I've been trying to stay positive about them at this point if I'm being completely honest I don't like where the game is at now. In this video I explain in more detail why that is.
This doesn't mean I won't be making videos about SSO anymore, if I feel like it I'll do that at some point again.

I stopped playing SSO, the game feels lifeless, i remember back in 2015, the magical soundtrack, our horses constantly making noises, the sound of their gallop, the quests, the whole vibe of Jorvik was better overall. This new generation of SSO made me realize how insignificant pretty graphics are, i don't care that the horses and characters are pretty, they're boring and lifeless, i have no joy in interacting with them. I hope the new players can still get some fun out of this game, for me, its over 👋

I loved Star Stable for it's colour tones...like a mysterious and slightly dark world with your adventure bringing light to it. It is too bright now, almost like cocomelon and the whole storyline and lore has been destroyed. They have basically removed all the charm and character of the game. Even making Loretta "nice" was just not necessary. I liked the idea you had to care for your horse but not caring for all of them! They should have just made you feed/water/brush the horse you are using and not bothered with general stable care (eg the horse is ok as it is in the stable). I hate now that you don't injure the horse and you can gallop forever with 0 impact on the horse. I hate the new progression, basically SSO has removed things we got as standard just to make them a "feature". The new graphics make me dizzy and the UI is just confusing. The mini map location is so annoying too I agree. I used to go on SSO to escape and chill, now I find myself just not caring about it. My feelings have nothing to do with nostalgia either, the whole game has just changed for the worse.
Already forgot about some of those things you mentioned but completely agree! And the visual change comes down to personal taste if you like it or but I don't think anyone can argue that the vibe of the game completely changed and the new visual style is really far from the original :( But yeah SSO lost all it's charm, it's really a shame and I wish everyone could've experienced the game when it was at it's best
What has made me really mad recently is the fact that they REMOVED the leveling up sound, like why? I know because another youtuber got to level 24 i believe and the sound is gone. Glad i got to level 22 last november so i could hear the sound one more time. I hope they bring it back before i level up to level 23 (little under halfway there) its just so annoying they are removing/changing all these useless things.
Hey, I don't know if that was glitched, but I think they brought the leveling up sound back, i hit level 19 yesterday and I was so happy to hear it again!

I just got level 24 a couple of weeks ago and there was no sound 😢 Glad it's fixed now but I won't be hearing it in a while 😅🤣

I've been playing since 2014 and a lot of the old quests have been removed all to fit into their child demographic Ig to be more "child-friendly"
Yeah I've noticed that too :/ And also re-making some of the more difficult races (that were my favourites just because of that reason) to make them easy 😅 Definitely noticing a shift in the difficulty of the game. Might honestly also be just to make it better for mobile players 🤷♀️
@@FamilyTurtlenight From the UI, cartoony characters and horses, to the stupidly easy feel of the game compared to 2014-2018 it is more of a mobile and android game than a pc game

8:32 I hate when people say that we only feel like it has lost it's magic because of nostalgia. Yesterday i played all four episodes of starshine legacy for the FIRST time. So no nostalgia there. I think the games were much better than what sso is now. The story was insanely good and captivating. The soulriders were actually strong (Alex was basically killing her opponents lol) and it just had this mystical feeling to it. Knowing that sso plays 2 years after starshine legacy is so weird because the story and characters are so very different now. Star stable could have been great but for some reason they started to cater to six year old girls with rich parents. I am so disappointed and dislike sso even more after playing starshine legacy, i can only recommend that everyone play them even once.
I really don't understand why they had to go and change the soul riders so much :/ They were well written and interesting before but now they're just straight up boring
@@FamilyTurtlenight Because they didn't fit with the style they want now. They want to surf on all the actual trends. So Linda not being a nerd spending time on fanfictions and series couldn't work, Lisa being a more sassy rocker didn't work for them, Alex being more brutal couldn't work anymore. They litteraly ruined almost all the characters they added, even secondary ones. Everything is made to fit the tastes of tumblrinas and 5 years old kids.
I so agree about the horse happiness thing. I am not going not going to pay half of my monthly allowance of star coins for stable care. Especially since during certain times of the year, I am really busy and don't log onto star stable for weeks or even months. But it is totally depressing when you log on and all your horses are sad and slow. Its so especially annoying to me because I like doing championships, but I can't do them and have a shot at winning on a slow horse. I feel like they should af least make stable care like jorvik shillings or something because its kind of ridiculous. I actually don't really buy new horses anymore because I know they will sit in my stable and never be ridden because they will be sad and slow. And the new UI just looks so cheap, IMO. I also hate how the championship groups look like now. I can't see what place I am in if I am not in the top five. I wouldn't mind the characters so much if they had some slight waist definition, and the pants didn't look so low rise and saggy on the characters, but hey, I guess thats asking for too much. I don't hate the new characters, I just feel SSO could have done better. I totally agree about the game losing its mystery it had. I used to sit on the edge of my seat for the new main story quests. Now, they changed the story beyond recognition and not in a good way. There is no mystery anymore. The newest main story quests that came out I didn't even read through. I have lost complete interest, the story is a mess, SSO doesn't know their own characters, and they keep adding stuff not relevant to the original lore. At this point they should just add male characters. Even though the story says it's about a girl, the story has strayed so far from the orginal that they myswell just add male characters. I used to love events, but now it's just to do some recycled races and dailies, get some tokens, trade tokens for a saddle, or a shirt. Thats not even counting the fact that the events are so buggy that you can't play them most of the time. I personally like the new graphics and feel like it is a huge improvement over the old ones. However, even though it looks much better, it feels dead to me for some reason. There is just the less life if that makes sense. Also I personally hate wild woods. It feels so off compared to the rest of the map. Like a whole village of talking horses??? Please we are not playing barbie here. It just doesn't feel right, and I believe that area is not even part of the orginal Star Stable games. I have been playing the game since 2015. I am not a person who's against change. Games like SSO need to develop and change to continue to be relevant and survive. While I think SSO has made some good decisions over the years, I would say that the choices SSO has made overall, imo are not it.
Thanks for the detailed comment! I completely agree with everything. The daily care for the horses is so dumb and should've been removed once we were able to buy more than was it 10 horses 😅 It really is putting you off from buying new horses and idk why SSO doesn't realise that
@FamilyTurtlenight Yes! It's just so bizarre to me. I don't really buy star coins anymore, so I am not going to spend my star coins on stable care. I have played the game for a while now, and so I have a lot of horses. There is no way I am going to hand care for 90+ horses. I just don't have that kind of time or even care enough to try. And as you said, it's kind of surprising that Sso, a game that seems to be all about making money as of lately, hasn't realized that it puts people off from spending money on their game. I really enjoyed your video BTW. I agreed with all of it!

Star stable is exaggerating about wanting us to play the game very often and ask for star coins which cant be obtained only with money, for example if you dont log in for 6 months your star coins will be gone, and if youre a LT they wont give you the weakly allowance

I agree so much with a lot of this. The game lost it's magic a long time ago, and I miss the old game so so damn much. I loved the old storyline and I wish they would've continued on it. I miss all the old events when you actually had fun and not this everyday grinding. I wish the game still was the same, maybe not with the graphics but yk you can update graphics without completely change the whole artstyle :(
Yeah they didn't stay true to the feel of the game when updating the graphics unfortunately :/ And of course there's more to it than that but the visuals is a huge part of it

Oh am I the only one that loves the 100 things at the same time during events? It gives extra daily tasks that are 'new', which can be refreshing.
It depends on how it's done - if the dailies give out player XP or if you have to do them almost every day to be able to get all the rewards then it just ends up being stressful :/
The issue is that its NOT new dailies, its the same rng based hourly collection quest recycled over and over to keep us logging in and playing ridiculously long just to get the first bridle after getting 30 saddlepads, and if we dont do it (even tho there is no gurantee we'll ever get the full sets, the chances to get an unobtained item dont increase with attempts) we'll miss out on this events items potentially forever as sso doesnt always release them again the next year.
I started playing in 2020 when i got my sister’s old laptop (bc of online school, thanks covid) but i had watched sso videos in my childhood, so it already was important to me. At first it was really fun speedrunning through quests, unlocking new areas, building up reputation to do new things etc. but i’m not even kidding, it took me maybe two months tops to literally run out of things to do. There are of course events and daily quests and they do add new quests once in a while but it feels like they prioritise monet over customer satisfaction by releasing new horses and items, but a new horse will only keep a player engaged for a couple of days. Even though i haven’t been playing for that long even i can see the shift in the new quests compared to the old ones. They feel way more soul-less, and the dialogue and lore is so boring i just skip through it. It feels like it’s written for children. Most of the new added things are also just handed to you, and it feels like you don’t need to do any work to earn them. Old areas that get re-vamped, especially the ones on the edges of the map further from moorland get completely forgotten about after the initial release. With no new quests no-one visits these areas. It’s like they’ve lost all the deep lore behind them and were turned into pretty backdrops for players to take pictures in and then never visit again. I don’t think i can ever reach the same exitement playing this game as i had when i played this game on christmas 2020 when i got lifetime starrider and i just binged through the quests, conquering new areas of the map, unless star stable actually listens to their community and not just their wallets.
Well said! I'm glad it's not just me who's noticed the change in the quests! When I got my alt account, it also took about 2 months to have completed literally everything 😅

I will say that the new character update did provide really nice hair but the animations are glitched and half baked, plus the body proportions are all the way off - *why do the NPCs look better than us?!*
The new UI also makes no sense, we have no need to see our/other players' character and horse icons, literally no-one asked/needed that 😭 AND - we can't see if our horses need feeding/caring that day so I keep forgetting and end up with a depressed horse
edit - and the map being top right is the most annoying thing ever

I wish there was an option to play in different versions like in minecraft. I've been playing since 2015 and it makes me really sad to what the new team did to this game. I would do ANYTHING to play the old version again💔
I agree with you on that the world has lost the darkness and the characters has lost their personalities. I wish they were more like in the Starshine games. I do like the visual updates but yes the player model needs alot of work, and I wish the world was more mysterious in a way.

The one thing Im happy about - our characters finally look like they have around 150cm height, not 130 like ealier.

I fully agree, I’ve been playing since the end of 2013 and I have always loved the game until almost 2018/2019 when the updates started becoming weird. Now I won’t even get the feel of wanting to just log on, it’s completely gone. I’m really sad about it and ever since then I have tried communicating with star stable and trying to get them to be like Minecraft and have the different updates separate so if I wanted to play the game with the 2015 updates I could but they say it’s impossible which I don’t believe is true. Anyways, it was an amazing game and I’m so glad that I got the chance to experience it but I just wish I would be able to go back💔
Most likely all the old files are deleted at this point 🤷♀ Maybe they should have started making a new game back then instead of turning SSO into something completely different
That was always the main problem, SSO just don't care about the players opinions, as long as they can make money off of the people that are still playing.
To be fair, the game is online. It's an MMO. There is only one MMO in the world that can afford to pay upkeep for a second set of servers and programmers to support a seperate, older version of the game. And there's no way SSO makes that kind of money.
i definitely agree with you here. i'm too deep into this game to quit, but i would have quit a while ago if i hadn't already sunk so much money and time into my account.. it's a shame that all that money (thousands on my end, i know.. embarrassing) is seemingly just being thrown into marketing campaigns instead of the actual game. would love to see quality updates rather than half-arsed updates, SSO has a lot of potential to be really good but you are right it's been going downhill ):

I too spent lots of money on this game & instead of making the game better with more quest they waste it on other crap. I am so done.
I miss the horse island! It was so nice to send horses away on vacation and them coming back feeling great.
The events are very stressful now, there is never enough time to get anything, unless you are playing for many hours every day, so I agree. But for me as I’ve played since 2014, after the new character update, I just don’t even log on anymore. I just feel they don’t look good, I gave them a chance, but I just don’t like them or how they move on the horse. They just look off and maybe a little too big for the horses too. The makeup options are also bad and the way the hairstyles move when you are riding are pretty bad too.
Also I have no clothing options I like on my character anymore. All my favorite clothes are useless.
I thought I was the only one who wasn’t a huge fan of the updated characters. I played right before the update, couldn’t get Star Rider right away, put it on hold, returned and… my character looked weird. I do not hate it, but I came to SSO after playing Starshine Legacy, and I didn’t know about any of the spin-offs before that (and those still share the same art style), so while I realize that this is my nostalgia talking, I feel like the game’s own art style was taken away and replaced with something… average? Lacking an identity? I understand that the game needs to develop, grow and update, and that includes graphics as well, but surely there could be a better way to approach this.
It’s like a kick to the stomach when you see the old star stable. I started playing in 2016 and oh boy do I miss the old SSO. It’s like a game for 5 year olds now. I just wish star stable could see the “feedback” and complaints they’re getting or just make a SSO 2 cause I would much rather prefer the old SSO. 😕
I stoped playing it aswell, for the same reasons. but the main reason was that starstable acused me for cheating and permanently banned my account that was running for over 10 years... Banning people for fals information is just wrong and they won't belive me when i tell them that there was no chating done on my account. i feel like they wanna get rid of me and my friends who are playing for years bc we gt banned for the same reason.

Yeah for me it's always been important to get all the items from events but the past few years trying to do that just made me really stressed and I wasn't having any fun at all so I decided I'm not even going to try anymore 🥲
I’ve been playing since 2017 and what you said about the events is so true. I never really thought about it till you brought it up. But especially the Halloween update, there was just too much going on and I was only a week late to the update and I felt like I had so much to catch up on. So I’ve just ignored the Halloween events for the past few years, which is really sad. I feel like sso has just raised the expectations of their players too much to the point where if they don’t release something game changing every week, they will get ridiculed. But I’m reality, this is just causing sso to release unfinished products. I think part of the old magic was getting so excited about small updates every week and rememberable events. This took our minds off of the state of the game, and made us more creative with how we entertained ourselves. Whether it was role playing, chatting at Steve’s, or roaming the map trying to get into secret places. I don’t think I could ever fully leave sso, because it’s been such a huge part of my life, but I definitely don’t get on every day, hell or even every month. I just check out main story quests and major updates.
Yeah agree with you completely there. Not every update needs to have a ton of stuff as long as it's well done.
Making us unlock halloween events was just so bad. I couldn't even be bothered with it. It's now grind rather than fun for sure.

I think that one of the worst things is, that they mostly don't listen to the players. A lot of players give them constructive criticism before they release new stuff to the game and almost every time nothing happens... The new characters are a perfect example, I have been searching for a video from the first beta testing and the characters look almost the same even when people were shouting to them, what's wrong... They just choose to ignore everything and answer only the good things (on ig).
I would understand that they wouldn't listen if people were like, "I hate new characters!" and they don't even have a reason, but most of the comments I was reading described what's wrong and why that person doesn't like them(lot of the times it's still the same thing).
I personally don't like changes, but I was super excited for new characters and I have to say, that I kinda like them. What I don't like is, that SSO now acts like everyone finally can be represented, which is not true. I look more like the old character and there is no body type like that. If they, at least, put there "skinny" body type with some proportions, it would be better (and also for other body types, but they look like having at least some proportions, while the first body type looks like a door). I hate the sh*ts that are displayed when you start and end character customization because it's not true.
Completely agree. I've also been reading the comments on instagram and a lot of people are giving really good constructive criticism but SSO just ignores it. I also don't hate the new characters but they didn't reach the expectations and promises SSO made before so that's why I'm disappointed by them. And yeah irl I also look more like the old characters and as you said there's no body type anymore in the game that represents a skinnier but not completely shapeless body.

I’ve always tried looking into sso and always wanted it. St the time tho for me it was too much money and couldn’t afford it. This was like back in 2014-2013 or so but now that it’s 2023 I finally have a decent pc and iPad so I switch it up. And man…it’s a lot of work on that game ….I’ve been trying to find horse games where I can actuslly ride the horse like star stable but not have it be so expensive.
It feels with alot of games now that the priority is the profit, not the quality, the gameplay variety, just the visual, flashy Appearence of things and the store 🥺
And ironic enough, when games start focusing more on the profit rather than the quality they end up loosing money in the end

I started to play when the first English Server opened ( back in 2013.. I was 12 yrs old kiddo) Now I'm 22 , so this game was my entire childhood. Its soo painful to see what happened to this amazing game. When I was around 5 yrs me and one of my friend get the Star Stable - Autumn Riders ( and the next games ) from our riding club. We LOVED the games and played for hours with them. So nostalgic.. Now, we stopped playing. The community, the game, the updates and the essential of the game is not the same anymore. Some ppl say that '" This is just nostalgia, You just grown up." No, I still like to play Videogames, but not SSO.. There was a time when it was magical and engaging, but not anymore.

Apparently we have a very similar life given we started playing the game at the same age and time. Star's the game I put the most hours into, no doubt. It's been insanely important in shaping my life with who I met and oddly the skills I've gained from it. But yeah, it's not the same. I used to say it's just cause we've grown up but no. It's simply gone down in quality over the years. It's a shame really. It will forever hold a special place in my heart

Personally, I love the fact that SSO added more body types to be more inclusive. But just like you said, I used to wear the crop tops or fitting clothes pretty much every day, but now they just look weird. I am a slim person with a flat stomach.. could they have at least made one body type that was smaller with a flat stomach so I could wear crop tops? Like you said, they have no curve or shape, we just look like a door.
I've missed out on so many items and rewards because of the fact that it is so time consuming. Back in the days I was very much on it to get every single reward, but now I have to miss out because it is so much😢

I played since beginning of star stable it was pretty big part of my childhood and sometimes I still play it to do new main quests but now I haven’t opened the game since 6 months maybe. For me the biggest problem with sso is that they changed lore, characters and lowkey creepy magical climate of the game - now they just target kids and also the removal of many features that made the game more realistic (cold tolerance bus etc)

See, I don't know, I started out as an adult player is 2015 and I have to say each time I log in, the whole vibe/everything seems so different and I didn't really know why until videos like this point small things out that have been removed or revamped.
Maybe they should do what RuneScape did and make a server of the old version of the game.

The events all now having rng to keep players on the grind is the same worthless bandaid fix for lack of actual content as them suddenly adding a lot of collection quests like catherines memories, photos,more photos, spiders etc and the druid training in like 2020/21
Anyone that plays more games than just sso will know about this type of shitty grind and will be scared off but ig the young and new players are their desired (not actual) target audience now.

@@brandishearer12 Most of them will be young children. They want a new player audience of children, that's not the kind of playerbase that'll spend huge sums.
They want new and young players bc that's the type of audience that won't complain about lackluster updates and is more likely to spend on microtransactions (which this game doesn't have bc all of the prices are far too high to count as micro)
So no, I don't see the new players having money to spend, but I'm not sure if sso sees that too.

I am a bit confused on the problem you have with the map placement, that's a very normal spot to put minimaps in MMOs. Frankly my eyes go there more naturally than the lower corner, though it should be bigger probably.
But man, I was so looking forward to getting into this game after years of not being able to play, I'm a big girl and can buy the game with my own money! I went in with a positive attitude, and this game let me down hugely. No amount of pretty horses could entice me to grind through the game, its a slog. The daily care gives me less incentive, that shouldn't cost star coins at all, make it cost jorvik shills or take it out of the game. And gosh do not even get me started on anything else. I ended up uninstalling the game entirely, it was a waste of space on my PC. What a shame it is, there's really no other horse MMOs to play. But I'm still keeping tabs in the hopes they turn things around, this game has potential and they're just fumbling the ball every passing year.
I think you would have loved the game back in the days when it started! But yeah it's such as shame, the game has so much potential.
And with the mini map, I mostly play shooters/racing/adventure games and I've never seen the map being in the upper corner. Most of the time you have no reason to look up in the sky so having the map there doesn't make sense to me at all 😅 But possibly making it bigger could solve the issue
it will never change because there are people out there still willing to give them money. You would be better looking for a new game.
@@brandishearer12 Yeah I hear that's why they focus so hard on horses, it makes them money. I see reason to have said their money maker, but I'm really not seeing that money put back into the game. I saw they have office scooters though LOL.
I started playing way back when the old StarStable games came out back in 2008, and tested SSO when it globally launched back in 2012, and properly started playing spring 2013. I have recently replayed old games and man the new SSO team doesn't seem to understand what made SSO different from the rest of the horse games and what made it so special. I feel like the team's (or at least upper management's) attitude is that they're just trying to create a game for kids; not a game they would play themselves. All new stuff feels pretty boring and stereotypical to me, and all the stuff I used to want for so long; well too little too late...
I am actually planning on quitting soon when I reach level 25, which is very close now. That has been the only thing I've looked forward to for the past year and if that's all SSO can offer me anymore, I don't see a point in playing. I used to be huge SSO nerd and I still am, but only of the old SSO, since modern SSO no longer gets any emotions from me, especially now that all my friends have quit playing as well.

I still play SSO but honestly? Your right about the chareter animations the run is horrible and the I just don't want talk about the fast run animation. And even though I wasn't playing star stable back when It first came out I have heard how much people miss the old SSO.

In 2020 i told them i could not do a main story quest because i could not get into the secret druid circle due to a bug. After talking to three different employees i got my answer. "Deinstall and reinstall". In 2022 i was finally able to continue with the quest

I agree with you especially the last part of the video and the new characters. I've been playing with sso since 2012 and a lot of things were just so much better than now. The most dissapointing things for me are the characters' body shapes like.. the slimest doesn't even have a feminine shape. I personally think that the old faces were much creative and pretty. Tbh one of the reasons why I got interest in the game was the characters' faces lol.. But after all these things that I don't like in the game I will continue to play with it bc I literally grew up along with the game and I've got too much good memories from it so I wouldn't even be able to quit haha
Same here, SSO is the only game I can say I've been playing more or less actively for 10 years so there's no way I'm completely giving up on it

The Events are THAT thing in sso that gets everyone exited..and they make everything worse. The Rainbow event is fr the baddest of them all..no event is bader than the rainbow one. the fact that i looked at the news in week 2 and i didnt know whats actually new because its the same shit we got in week 1

I just saw the new update from your video & I love watching show jumping in real life but I have NEVER seen a horse jump like that in real life. Boy they really screwed up the game.
Today for example they kicked me out like 4 times, the reason was supected cheating. I was doing a race, trying to do quests! This is why its soooo annyoing to play sso,still love sso but its just not it anymore...
This game is a dying piece. It is a BIG shame they even call themselves Star stable. It seems these new developers hate the original star stable as they change and delete EVERYTHING. They are destroying it all! Wish someone could have bought and saved Star Stable from these wrong hands.

Honestly I'm really not surprised and I'm surprised at the same time, people who play star stable are literally just dumbing in irl money like I've seen people spending 10k star coins in game and that's A LOT of money irl they could do better considering how many funds they are saving because people can be nuts when it comes to game currency because far as I know you can only buy star coins with irl money and I haven't seen any quests giving out any star coins it's just stupidly expensive like for one singular horse you have to pay like $22 of irl money! And if you want better horses there are like 800-900 star coins? Not sure exactly and the $22 dollar pack gets you like 1k star coins I presume my point is considering that people have been dumping loads of money for the game the devs can definitely do better in updates ect like they can't even do basic stuff like fix the bugs that have been there for years? C'mon!
I often thought about paying for "Star Rider" but then I was like.. this game doesn't worth the money. The graphic looks awful (the characters face, body, clothes, building), they look poorly made. For less money, there are mush better horse games, with prettier design, graphics. I guess SSO is good for children, using their parents credit cards :D
i played sso since lipizzaner horses release, and i'm not sure but i think it's been like 4-5 years already that i stopped playing? i might be wrong, but shortly after they released saving anna quest. I stopped playing because there was never enough quests to do and they were very short. I then decided to come back once quests pile up, but i never did. I simply log into the game from time to time to buy horses or something
I usually don't stay long because, like you mentioned, my horses are really slow, so there is no fun in riding them>
I honestly just moved one when it comes to graphics. I was irritated when they just started changing map but now it's just whatever. The old look is not coming back so eh, might as well see more changes.
but sso is going the wrong way with quests in my opinion. I don't want to open the game and every single day ride 100 races becasue thet's the only interesting thing to do. And even if i do, then what then? my horse reaches lvl 15 and why would i ride him more? there is no reason to, time to move to another horse to level him up too
I will stil log into the game from time to time, but i stopped expecting it to be the game i knew, it's just sso, but simply not the one I played as a kid, i can still enjoy horses that get better, maybe even one day the quests, who knows
pretty much feel the same, I log in to check new updates and horses but nothing more really. Having all horses be slow and sad is added discouragement to not log in as well :(

I love the events and how much there is to do. Gives me a reason to sign on. Not the biggest fan of the rainbow festival this year just cause all of the quests are boring.
I like the events because you get new quests and rewards you can collect, there are many improvements and additions. I know it gave XP but I don't really care for how much I get, so I didn't feel like I need to play every day. It's just there and you can enjoy it but why try to collect everything - just have fun. I honestly didn't notice many bugs at all and I don't think the ones mentioned are a big issue when playing. UI looks good to me, if map was on the bottom it would be too much - I like that those icons are on top.
You don't have to do horse care at all, I never paid for it and I don't do the horse care tasks either. Only difference is a bit lower speed. I don't see how that doesn't make you want to use horses that are not in best mood.
I think the character is great - looks very nice and I can't say anything bad about it. Keep in mind the options we had before this update. Now we can change a lot more and I don't see a need for more options as these seem sufficient. It's a game, the character will never look like you do in real life so just choose something that fits the most. I still think it looks so much better than the previous character and so much more realistic. The game has to keep changing and it will not be like the old one - keep your memories and find something you like in the current version. I played since around 2014 and I wouldn't be playing it now if it stayed the same. Sure, it was different, but I'm glad they keep improving. I truly enjoy this game and I just focus on what I like and whatever way I like to play it. But you can always play the star stable games that were on CDs before online game was a thing, if you have one and you miss that style.
I agree that the game needs to change to stay alive, I'm not opposed to that at all. SSO might work for more casual gamers but if you're someone like me who is a completionist and wants to collect everything you can, it's become very stressful in the past few years which has led to me just not even trying to get the items. And when it comes to horse care, I love doing championships and stuff but you can't do well in those with slow horses :/ And then when it comes to the character, while it's definitely an improvement from what we had before it’s not living up to the promises and statements SSO made before so it ends up being dissapointing.
I can understand it can be stressful trying to collect everything but maybe the difficulty is the intended part of it. Do you have one horse you do championship with? That could be easier to take care of only one horse, which I did when I was collecting the ribbons (not anymore). I don't know what promises there were when it comes to the character, but I think that overall it looks nice and fits within the art style. We don't have control over what the game artists and developers do, but we can still enjoy those parts that are objectively well made.
The game is doing amazing but with every game there are people who don't like changes made, and like every other game . The game will still thrive with out them and just bring in new players. SSO has been extremely active as of late.
SSO is clearly targeting a new audience (mobile players and young kids) and I'm not exactly sure how that target audience will be profitable for them 🤷♀
I happen to love star stables it’s so exciting all the new things going of late❤ if the old players aren’t happy then they should find something else to play lol I will stick with SSO….I’m not a kid I’m an adult…..

The only people I have seen ride with their buts in the air are Race Jockeys. I never had any formal riding lessons, I mostly learned on my first horse & my rear end was on his back. I did go to horse camp for 2 years during the summer as a teenager & we rode in western saddles & we were taught to sit with your rear end in the saddle. Even western show riders keep their buts in the saddle. I also need to mention that in April after a game update, my computer crashed & I had to buy a new computer. After reaching level 21 in star stable there was nothing left for me to do but the same old things & they NEVER finished story line or quest, it just STOPPED. SSO never responds to players questions or problems. I have not been on Star Stable since April & I am not taking the chance with my new computer. THANK YOU so much for this video & I can now see that I am not missing anything. There is a new game coming out in July called "Unbridled: That horse game" & since I now have steam on my computer I will be able to play it safely. I just wished more people were not willing to put up with this crap & just leave the game. Nothing is going to be fixed as long as SSO think that they can still make money off the game without wasting time to fix anything. All they want is people to spend their hard earned money on Star Coins to buy new horses. There are new games coming out now & I hope people will leave Star Stable to show these money hungry Jerks that they can't get way with it.

I started playing Star Stable in 2017, I adored it then but I feel like Star Stable has just been going downhill since then. I still love the game itself, but the changes are just too much, I think the older versions of Star Stable were better... I hope that they make some other changes to this game in a better direction then they currently are.

Can't say I agree. I'm loving what Starstable is doing now. Been a player sense 2013. They are making more events/quests/mechanics, and not just focusing on just making horses like they did for a good while. I was boycotting them around 2017 until the character update last week. I can't believe the work they put into it. All those clothes and hair/makeup for 7 different body types. Color me impressed. Sorry the events are to hard for you. I get it, but I can't agree because enjoy them a lot. I do agree on the level problem tho. Even as an old player I feel for you there.
I don't know if they're ever going to solve the level problem or even address it. Giving out player XP in events was a horrible idea from the beginning and I don't get why they're continuing not only that, but giving it out in daily quests??? Anyway, I really hope SSO is going in a better direction now, can't exactly tell, but at least they're not putting out a new horse breed every other month 😅

Which is fair due to the time and effort they put in. I myself am not 24. So I can't imagine the time they put in. I wish them all the best when they do finally make the change.

I would not celebrate that. Take a look at star stables finances. It is not looking great because too many people are quitting and less and less people are buying star coins. They had to fire 30 employees a while ago and lost 60% of their profit since 2021. They literally have to move to a smaller office now. But sure, just one less negative Nancy in the game :D

You all who are not happy with SSO go somewhere else to play if you are all that unhappy with the game !!! there is a new game out called star equestrian it’s pretty good but it will never be SSO… the horses are amazing here and new story lines are coming, so excited for the new upcoming quests . SSO will always be my game to play lots to explore in open world there… just my opinion here I just get so tired of hearing all the complaining and running the game down because it has changed ! Life is like that change is good just find what makes you happy maybe it’s just time for you to move on that’s all. We all outgrow things as we grow new exciting challenges to face as we walk through life it’s all part of the journey, so please be happy life is to short to get so upset over a game…
I don't play the game much anymore, because I'm not enjoying it. I just logo on from time to time to check out new updates. I still love SSO though, it has a really special place in my heart and it makes me really sad to see how it's not staying true to it's roots anymore. Of course it needs to change, if it was the same game it was 10 years ago it would've died, but what they are doing right now is not the right way to go imo. If they want to turn SSO into a mobile game then sure go ahead but they'll lose a lot of their fanbase
I think you misunderstood why players are upset with the game, it's not because it changed, it's because SSO removed feautures and details that made the game interesting (cold tolerance, soundtrack, horse noises, the bus, some quests, etc), for example, no one complained when SSO changed from Gen 1 to Gen 2, why? Because they kept the same features and details the game always had. People have the right to be upset and express their opinions from time to time and thats okay!
Tori- We are leaving & we are taking our hard earned money with us. Let's wait & see how long the game will last. There will always be another horse game out there but if you forget about your loyal fanbase they will just leave & spend their money some were else. They will have no one to blame but themselves.
