    Thank you for an excellent review. Just one thought, I completely understand your thought on "dry fire" and the mag having to be inserted to conduct checks...From what I read at GSG (who produce this fun tool/toy) it is considered an "extra safety feature". 6 years later the "feature" is still there. Cheers

    I took the gun apart and removed the safety for the magazine and now you can single load if you wanted and dry fire if you wanted to. Not to hard but you do have to take apart the whole trigger box, if your careful to not lose any springs its not bad.

    Great review. I had been a little curious about these. So does ISSC state that they are safe to dry fire, or were you able to determine that in some other way? I notice that CDNN has these in stock for $329 currently (9/9/2014).

    Thank you for the great review, quick question, is the barrel real or is it a shroud over a tube type barrel?

      Thank you sir. It's real. Everything on this rifle is top notch, they didn't skimp on anything, that I can think of.

      It is a shroud over a pencil barrel. It looks like a heavy barrel but it is not.

      I did buy this rifle, and yes it is a shroud over the barrel. I will say however that the MK22 is an amazingly accurate rifle. It is also a beautifully built rifle, it just looks badass!

    Can a GSG 15-22 uses the ISSC mag? Seems there no aftermarket mag for the GSG....they both look so alike form my view ..thanks!

      I would say yes. Bought a Anshutz msr RX22 and was told it uses ISSC mags too.

    I just purchased a MK22 from PSA for 199! After I received it I bought 2 H&K takedown pins to replace the 2 lower screws. Like you I hate screws on firearms the takedown pins are worth the $15 investment.

    well sir being this is a 22 rim fire rifle you are not supposed to dry fire rim fire weapons cause it will harm the firing mechanism

      I own a newer version of this rifle. It was never built by ISSC. It has always been built by GSG (German Sport Guns). GSG now retails this firearm under their own name, the GSG-15.
      As far as dry firing this rifle being bad doesn't make sense. Your opinion that dry firing a rim fire rifle is bad may be true for some manufacturers, but is incorrect for this particular rifle.
      The only way to decock this rifle is to insert the empty magazine and dry fire it. Can't imagine how dry firing this firearm is worse for it than leaving the action cocked during storage/transport. Dry firing a rim fire may be bad for some rifles, but this one has been designed to be dry fired.

    Santa just deposited the “new improved Blue Line Solutions” reiteration. Had one exactly like yours quite a few years ago and it turned out to be the most unbelievably insanely horrible firearm I’ve ever experienced with no exceptions. GSG of course makes them and they’re mostly pot metal where there should by steel. You are blessed beyond miracle to have one that actually fires more than two rounds in succession. The “new improved” version is hopefully much much better in every possible way because to actually manufacture a worse rifle than the early generations would require black magic.

    Is this rifle any good for self defense?

    • @762x51n8o
      @762x51n8o  4 роки тому

      No, it wouldn't. Not so much the rifle, but the caliber -- a .22 is not a good choice.

      I heard the 22 cause serious internal injury idk why but every doctor says the 22caliber is the deadliest because it expands and ricochets in body ?

    • @762x51n8o
      @762x51n8o  4 роки тому +1

      @@jokervbatman5023 No it cannot. This is basically a .22 replica of the FN SCAR. The FN SCAR 16 comes in 5.56 NATO.

    • @762x51n8o
      @762x51n8o  4 роки тому +1

      @@jokervbatman5023 There's a lot of different things said about the .22, but it's difficult to say what is old wives' tales and which is true. The .22 LR has been around for a long time, I believe it's the oldest cartridge in production.It's definitely not the deadliest, but I've read that it has killed more people. I'm not sure if that's true or not, but logic would lead me to say that it has not. Because another very, very old cartridge is the 9mm Luger, and that has been a military issue caliber for a vast majority of militaries and police around the world, especially since World War I. Since the .22 has not been a cartridge used extensively in war, I doubt it has killed more people.
      I've heard rumors it ricochets around in the body (most references say inside the skull), but I don't think this is something that is a reliable result, as it's going to depend on what bone or tissue it hits.
      But let's say hypothetically that it has killed more people than any other cartridge. That doesn't necessarily equate to being a good self defense round. How many of those historical deaths were on the spot, and how many were on an operating table hours later? Shooting someone in self-defense with a .22 might kill them, but it could take many minutes, or even hours for them to bleed out. This leaves plenty of time for them to cause you harm or death. In other words, it MIGHT kill them, but it won't STOP them. Whereas a proper self defense round, most people say is anything above a .380 ACP (With the .380 being debatable). So 9mm Luger, .45 ACP, 10mm, .38 Spcl, .357 Mag, etc. Those rounds have a higher probability of STOPPING the attacker. Stopping them doesn't necessarily mean to kill them. In self defense, your primary concern is stopping them from attacking you, not killing them. It's better to have them stop attacking you and live, than it is to have them die but they kill you in the process.

      got one in FDE, 2 22 rd mags, delivered for $250. love this gun. no FTFs with various ammo. nice trigger and light weight. I don't think for the price you can beat it- plus it's made in The Fatherland:). how do you remove the recip handle after it is inserted?
