I wanna do something like this. How to start ?
Start with Melody and Chord. That is very important. For Symphony orchestra you need to adapt to a specific chord progresion depending on your harmony foundation you are trying to come up with. That gets half the job done. Then you need to know about the different instrument group of Symphony Orchestra. String, woodwinds, Brass, Percussion etc. That would take some study and knowledge and have to hear lot of symphony orchestra to get a feel of what each instrument group can provide. then you are already on your journey to become a music composer! That is an important step one has to take without just stopping at playing film music numbers to impress the friends. Glad you are on the right path and i wish you all the best!
