RLM often depict themselves as super depressed and 'empty inside'. While I hope they are overplaying that part, they are truly blessed in that they have found each other. UA-cam has allowed many people to turn their passion into a living, but the vast majority of 'content creators' work by themselves, or maybe employ people to help them. But I guess it's very rare that an actual circle of friends manages to make great videos together so consistently and over such a long time.
for me it pretty much is the perfect channel far away from the idiotic and childish drama and corporate control it's still like old youtube; something we don't have a lot of anymore these days
It's an amazing feat they still seem to have fun making videos without even straining their friendship and not burning out on YT. So many pre-2010s channels like them have fallen out either due to some conflict/drama and/or them just losing their drive/creative juice; AVGN being the famous example of that recently, and that's a channel that was also consisted of a group of friends like RLM is. This vid is honestly very sweet since we're witnessing what makes RLM so special even across all aspects and genres of YT as a channel, especially ones as old as them ´◡`)
Rich Evans should be a voice actor, I’d love to see him in Smiling Friends, Lackadaisy, Hazbin Hotel (all as cat people), or in an Orwellian twist Star Trek Lower Decks.
You know Richard Evans is the Wisconsin neighbor who helps out with any housework you were intending to do. Just insists that he help out. And ends up making an entire thing of it.
Seing that "Smiling Friends" poster during the Gremlin repair segment fills me with joy, and the hope to get both Zach Hadel and Michael Cussack on BoTW.
That recording booth reminds me of the soundproof room in my high school. They went to all this effort to put up foam sound dampening, only to realise they weren't able to reroute power outlets into it. So they then cut a hole in the wall about the size of a letterbox and fed extension cords through it from the next room over, the actual music classroom. So all this sound of people messing around with keyboards in the classroom bled into whatever was being recorded in there.
I love that Rich builds an entire sound booth from scratch, then gets dragged relentlessly for not removing plastic from a frame..
And than Mike proceding to break said frame.

These chill behind-the-scenes type videos are always a blast.
I don't know if these guys read comments, but I have to wonder if they know how beloved they are by people around the world. Going back and seeing the beginnings of Half in the Bag and Best of the Worst (and everything else) and seeing how they've been friends and working together and how well they get along, this is the group of people I wish I had in real life. Forget about being a billionaire or anything like that, what these guys have, at least from what we can see in these videos, these are real life goals to me.
I know this sounds strange, but I consider them as family :)
Very well said.
When they are old and decrepit, they probably can open up their studio to visitors like a museum.
@@NosOmnesUnum It doesn't sound strange at all, my dude. It does sound sad, though.
@@92brunod Because you assume I don't have a real family around me or something? You got me, damn it! :)
It warms my heart seeing recovering alcoholics finally having the strength to get back out into the world and make a new life for themselves.
Recovering? They're just alcoholics aside from Rich lol.
Recovering?
Recovering?
Recovering?
Recovering?
It's no coincidence that both Jesus and Rich Evans were carpenters
Rich Evans beats Jesus cause he stuck to his trade and honed his skills. He didn't waste his time fucking about around the sea of Galilee with his hippie friends, upsetting the fish.
@@d3nza482 Rich also doesn't have to bathe in oil to sooth flea bites
Rich has also lived like twice as long as Jesus, so another win.
Like Karen Carpenter.
Did Jesus had diabetes?
Weird seeing Mike's "I'm just here for the boos" sweatshirt outside of a Halloween episode. I guess it's just part of his regular rotation.
I imagine that getting blessed with this kind of content is what being a patron feels like.
“How can you tell if you’re really in love?”
“I don’t know, but I definitely know what hate feels like”.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Rich is an actual renaissance man, carpentry, art, beautiful laughs....he's also around 600 years old
Jokes aside, Rich you're looking healthier my man 👍
He is actually from the Renaissance period. He's direct cousin with Donatello.
AND he’s reading classics like “The old man and the sea”
Rich is the glue that binds us all together, like the Force.
Rich throwing that paper ball at Mike's head was satisfying af. So good. True Nakama power
Rich has always been my nakama
@@storysearch9432 True true
Yeah, that throw was jouzu.
I don’t know why but every genuine interaction between Mike and Rich are the funniest events on this channel
That's actually really impressive that Rich built a whole soundbooth all by hand
He really is the handyman of RLM
Pretty sure anything that has been built in their studio was by Rich.
He’s our special boy
0:10 I immediately noticed the recesses to toenail the screw. Legit carpenter/10
It's less impressive when you realize that the windows to the soundbooth probably still have the protective film on both sides.
I’ve been a carpenter for some years and I have to say that rich evans is a very talented carpenter. I can’t believe one of these 3 aren’t a total talentless hack.
Edit: just watched more, wow jokes aside that vhs project was really impressive. Great job.
Local 46 Carpenter here, i agree (although when i see Rich working without safety glasses, i worry something will fling into his eye)
I've just realized that Rich is the brains of the entire operation and now, everything makes sense.
Genuinely loved watching the DIY projects, please post more videos like this. It's entertaining and interesting, especially when things go wrong. That VHS tape looked dope and I hope we get to see the coffee table one day, when Rich remembers his responsibilities
You know Mike and Rich are best friends because they repeatedly sabotage each other's hard work.
It's was sure nice of everyone at the RLM offices to show Rich that he's not the only one who fails in catastrophic ways for our collective amusement. He deserves a W every now and again.
I like how mikes low key becoming a voice actor.
Also Rich’s craftsmanship is ace.
He has a face for voice acting.
He has such a lush voice ❤️
@Der Frosch-Prinz Aus Bayern Once Mike will finally be cast in an official Star Wars product brought to you by Disney as the voice of Sheev Palpatine he will ascend to Two-Voice Andy-hood
Somehow watching this makes me feel like I've won a golden ticket to the Red Letter Media equivalent of Willy Wonka's factory.
This was really nice. It almost makes me wish I had friends or interacted with human beings in any capacity.
How about we don't hang out sometime?
But just, almost.
Can I not join?
Man I love just hanging out on a lazy day with my good personal friends Rich, Mike, and Jay.
probably the most exciting video of 2 uncoordinated elderly men struggling to hang framed artwork I've ever seen. keep up the good work!
sometimes I forget that these guys are grown ass men capable of tasks besides giggling
i never forget they are grown men, because of the rampant alcoholism
im pretty sure this vid proved you right, not wrong
I forget that these ass men are grown
@@takerdust these men are pawns
And drinking. Well not Rich but Mike makes up for that
This series needs to continue.
And we need a series of Mike just playing around with props/items in the studio.
Gotta say I’m genuinely enjoying these “hanging out with the RLM crew” style videos. Very interesting and chill at the same time
RLM often depict themselves as super depressed and 'empty inside'.
RLM is wholesome as fuck. Even if Rich Evans is an indentured servant.
for me it pretty much is the perfect channel far away from the idiotic and childish drama and corporate control
it's still like old youtube; something we don't have a lot of anymore these days
This vid is honestly very sweet since we're witnessing what makes RLM so special even across all aspects and genres of YT as a channel, especially ones as old as them ´◡`)
@JewelBrick and they've been doing it since before UA-cam existed!
Like U2 but minus the talent.
This is one of the funniest videos that they’ve posted in a while. There hasn’t been a dip in quality recently; this is just REALLY funny
Rich is such a gem, what handy guy.
gives a decent handy as well i might add
14:28 Watching Mike play with the Baby Bink prop with deadpan enthusiasm is a rare joy in life
Rich Evans should be a voice actor, I’d love to see him in Smiling Friends, Lackadaisy, Hazbin Hotel (all as cat people), or in an Orwellian twist Star Trek Lower Decks.
So I created the Poster at 6:40 for Len, it's really odd seeing it on RLM... Slightly heartbreaking watching them damage it lol.
You know Richard Evans is the Wisconsin neighbor who helps out with any housework you were intending to do. Just insists that he help out. And ends up making an entire thing of it.
the more i learn about Rich Evans (being an actual carpenter) it makes me realize Rich is the mos normal RLM member.
Rich is a total hack. who forgets to remove the protective wrap from plexiglass? MAJOR FAIL!
He's the group's Ringo Starr.
Really enjoyed this little video of you guys being creative and funny doing random projects and being friends lol
"Guys Being Creative And Funny Doing Random Projects And Being Friends" would make such a good title for this video; hey Mike, Jay, Rich, get on it!
I get the feeling that Mike's treatment of Baby Bink is a window into how he treats real children
Never laughed so hard than at Freddie sketching the Dick the birthday boy photos from memory.
Finally! The video of Mike, Jay and Rich Evans doing random odd jobs that we've all been waiting for! THEY BROKE NEW GROUND!
I’m glad to see the channel transitioning to this more kind of documentary esque style as of recent
This was actually really cool to see. I would love more behind-the-scenes stuff like this.
All jokes aside, Rich is impressively crafty and practical.
This is the content I subscribed for. I’m glad they’re still squeezing laughs out of the infamous Birthday Boy pictures.
Seing that "Smiling Friends" poster during the Gremlin repair segment fills me with joy, and the hope to get both Zach Hadel and Michael Cussack on BoTW.
5:47 how sweet, even the demon inside Mike laughed
That recording booth reminds me of the soundproof room in my high school. They went to all this effort to put up foam sound dampening, only to realise they weren't able to reroute power outlets into it. So they then cut a hole in the wall about the size of a letterbox and fed extension cords through it from the next room over, the actual music classroom. So all this sound of people messing around with keyboards in the classroom bled into whatever was being recorded in there.
I absolutely adore this kind of content from you guys once in a while, it’s just such a lovely relaxed time.
The twist in the end is the hardest I've laughed with one of your videos in a while.
