The imports were doing some great burnouts! Not John Force class burnouts, but still pretty impressive!
actually they run behind them to make sure they turn the power swith on located at the rear of the car. I don't know much about it but my friends have race cars and they all have that switch and they all seem to try to wait as late as possible into the race to turn that switch on. That;s just what I have observed. So I suggest if you are going to do some criticizing I would do some homework to make sure you are properly informed.
@Fleetsidechevy You said it yourself - 'I don"t know much about it". Those are your words so why would you suggest anything at all? See 31:20 in the video and watch the guy push off the yellow car. He's not chasing the car to turn on the data logger lol. The logger is activated by a crew member at staging and rarely used pre burnout unless the track has a rule that you can't touch the car while it is staging. I've been drag racing for a long time so don't reply back with another dumb suggestion. .
LOL, the age old argument. The one thing imports will never be able to do is have a completely street legal, solid 8 even 7 second , daily driven car. Any imports touching these numbers are usually purpose built for the track. And for the record I do have a certain level of respect for the old school imports, like the starlets and RX-7's. the front wheel drive civics are just plain and simple nonsense.
IDK why someone would want to use an 7 or 8 second car as their daily driver. It'd be extremely impractical.

Domestic wins (like always) but those one guys from new generation that import was a bad muther, ran a 6.05et I give an applaud too that good racing tho but Joe newsham and Richard Sexton had this one in the bag

+AdussFadass Umm no, I think you're confused. Domestics definitely did not lose most classes. Domestics won all but True Street last year. All but one class. That's right, Domestics won in 9 classes. I live near the track, attend almost every year.

What they are doing. All those cars have data loggers. Some they start pre burnout. Some they wait til they bring the first bulb on. Yhey are turning them on.

whats with all the fails these days? i see most drivers just get too excited and then doesnt know how to drive tho but i do love how the fastest in their are the mustangs chevys and rotaries lol and most muscles in their arent even fully upgraded i can imagine all the cars being maxed out upgraded

26zilence Before you start name-calling like a little girl, watch the video. Some of them do hold the car so it won't move side to side and them some of them run behind the car trying to push it. Don't run your mouth unless you know what you're talking about.

26zilence go to 31:20 and watch the guy run behind & push off the yellow car after it moves forward. Maybe he thinks he's holding it in the lane but it does not make a difference. I have been racing for a while having raced at Orange County Raceway(CA), Terminal Island Raceway(CA), Capitol Raceway(MD), & Cecil County(MD) so I think I know what I'm talking about. However, we see it differently - that's all. No need for us to act crazy or call names. Take it easy.
And rotary engines sound like a weedeater with a header on turning 12,000 rpm lol

this is funny. yea the domestic may have edge the import this time, but its funny to see domestic v8 struggle to keep up with import 6 cylinders lol. nothing for domestic fans to cheer for but be ashamed lol. but overall nice race
mee thao The Domestic cars only have an advantage in engine displacement size. As far as tire, weight, suspension, chassis, electronics, transmission, & fuel Imports have the upper hand. Domestics are far more restricted. They do this to keep an even playing field. Look up the rules yourself for each class. @ www.importvsdomestic.com. If rules and restrictions were not in place you see a bunch of Pro Mod V8's running 5's at over 250mph. I personally would rather see a close match which is much more entertaining.

Keep in mind these cars run against each other/same elapsed time. First Here's the Requirements for the Imports:
Imports----> Chassis: 2-rotor cars may run a full tube chassis. 4-cylinder, 3-rotor, and 6-cylinder cars may run a back-halved chassis from the firewall back (must retain stock firewall and front strut towers).
Suspension: Any type suspension is permitted.
Lights: Not required.
Windows: OEM glass or lexan windows are permitted.
Interior: Not required.
Exhaust: Not required.
Electronics: Any electronics are permitted.
Driveline: Any type driveline is permitted.
Transmission: Any auto or manual transmission is allowed.
Clutch: Any style clutch is permitted.
Shifter: Any type shifter is permitted.
Fuel: Gasoline, ethanol, or methanol is permitted.
Fuel System: Any type fuel system is permitted.
Oiling System: Any type oiling system is permitted.
Engine: Any type engine is permitted. Any internal engine modifications are permitted. Motor swaps of same manufacturer or different manufacturers are allowed as long as they meet weight requirements.
Aftermarket blocks are permitted.
Turbochargers: Turbochargers are measured at the inducer wheel where the leading edge of the inducer wheel meets the housing.
Nitrous Oxide: Any style nitrous oxide system is permitted.
Intercooling: Liquid intercoolers and air intercoolers are permitted. Water injection is permitted.
Induction: EFI or carburetors are permitted. Any style intake is permitted.
Tires:
2-rotor cars: Any size tire is permitted.
4-cylinder cars: Maximum size slick is 32.0”x16” or 33"x10.5W" (Can run a 15" or 16" diameter wheel)
3-rotor & 6-cylinder cars: Maximum size slick is 32.0”x14” or 33"x10.5W" (Must run a 15" diameter wheel only)

Domestic(Radial) Rules:
Body: Must be a factory production type vehicle. Must be street appearing with factory body lines. Must have stock appearing dash. One piece front ends permitted but must retain stock appearance and have working lights. Stock like front frame rails mandatory. Direct bolt in aftermarket parts permitted. Factory front frame must be connected to K-member or lower suspension component by welding or bolting. Double round tube frame rails from firewall forward prohibited.
Firewall: The stock firewall must be in stock location. Firewall will be measured based on manufacturer’s specifications. Engine must remain in front of firewall. Firewall cannot be modified for engine placement.
Exhaust: Mufflers or inserts are required on all cars except turbo cars.
The use of nitrous oxide is prohibited.
Fuel: Gasoline is permitted on all cars. Methanol is permitted on non-intercooled cars only. All fuels are to be unmodified fuel as produced by manufacturer and must be commercially available.
The use of fuel additives to enhance performance is prohibited. ALL entries are subject to random fuel check at any time.
Specialty Parts: The use of specially produced "one off" parts that are not commercially available and are deemed to have a performance advantage is prohibited. This includes but is not limited to blowers,
turbochargers, torque convertors, nitrous systems etc.
Suspension: Any style rear suspension is permitted. Stock style front suspension is required and must remain in stock location. Cars that were equipped from the factory with a bolt in front sub-frame are permitted to
replace the sub-frame with a commercially available aftermarket bolt in sub-frame. Wheelie bars are prohibited on all cars.
Tires: Maximum size radial tire is 315/60/15.
(NON-SLICK STREET LEGAL TIRE ONLY)

Also if you guys want try to see the world records for all categories of pro mods V8. All of them are in 5 seconds 1/4 mile. Twin turbo pro mod 5.40, blower pro mod 5.47 and nitrous pro mod 5.75. Names like Frankie Taylor and Rickie Smith. Somebody tell me when an import can make that time. NEVER!
