  • “The Girls Of Parrish”: are from a 1961 film based on the 1958 novel by Mildred Savage. The beautiful music score was by Max Steiner. The film stars Troy Donahue as Parrish and the three girls are Paige (Sharon Hugueny), Allison (Diane McBain) and Lucy (Connie Stevens). Each girl was given her own corresponding theme song by Max Steiner. Together the three short songs total of 8 minutes. Most of the photos are stills from the film. The songs are in order "Paige's Theme", "Allison's Theme" and "Lucy's Theme"

I read the book and then saw the movie later on and learned about the Tobacco plantations in Massachusetts . Many years later I was in Massachusetts and visited a place, I think it was called "The Tabacco Institute" where they demonstrated the growing and drying of the tobacco. As I remember, the tobacco grown up North is used just for cigars.
The music, "Lucy's Theme" brought back many memories of a time past... when I was young.

Absolutely wonderful, Roger! Thank you for putting this together!
Lovely lush orchestral arrangements with great images from the 1961 film.
Gotta love that high-fidelity sound of that warm vacuum-tube equipment of that era!
