Nice one mate, I was on the fence about adding a battery saw to my gas saw collection, after watching your review I bit the bullet and grabbed one you were spot on its truly a great saw..
Thanks for the comment. Yeah I'm still really liking mine. It's actually my only saw at the moment, but I'm not an arborist or anything like that. However I cut a bunch of already downed trees for firewood in my wood-stove.
I used to run big Stihl saws; so I know what power is like. Already kinda far down the EGO rabbit hole; when I needed a chainsaw; my first thought was an EGO. I had very high expectations; and was not disappointed. I never thought for one minute; "Why didn't I get a gas saw. Impressive performance. I liked it so well; that I've purchased three more; two of them with much bigger powerheads. The other one I got; I wanted to try the 14" one. I happened to see an ad for a used one for a good price. I was surprised when it arrived that I hadn't received what I purchased. They mistakenly shipped me another 1800; and I didn't call to complain 😂.
...come to think of it 🤔 I DO have another comment: I highly recommend that you get a 'Rapid' charger. It will charge your battery over twice as fast as the 'Standard' one that comes with the CS1804. EGO has four different chargers: Standard-210w Quick-320w Rapid-550w Turbo-700w I don't recommend the 320w one; as it doesn't cool the battery. It SOUNDS like it has a fan; but when the charging cycle is done; the battery is almost hot to the touch. The battery is cool to the touch with the other three. I've read and/or heard that the slowest charging rate is better for the battery. I don't know about that. I have all four chargers. The one I use most of the time is the Rapid. I will use the Turbo if I am at a 'jobsite', (I am not in the business), and need a battery as quickly as possible.
Lo. I didn't really clean anything up prior to filming this video. But I put my saw in a bench vise after each cutting session (or two) and give each tooth a good sharpen.

I have now bought the 20 inch EGO on Amazon.
I bought my EGO 18 inch at Lowes and paid over $100 more than the Amazon link you posted. Thanks for that tip!
Wow, that’s a significant difference! I hope you got a good deal on the 20" version!

Hey where was chewy at the you tube star
I love the idea of something battery powered that can both be used as a tool and cause epic destruction and chaos... Just saying
Holy cow! Seeing all that dust under the side cover tells me that chain is REALLY dull!

@WesleyAllenNC what I meant was actual 'dust' instead of chips.
EGO bar oil sucks, stay with a full synthetic
agreed!
I'll have to look! I don't remember ever seeing any full synthetic bar and chain oil.
Great video. Thanks bud.
Hey no problem. Hopefully it helped you out..
