My money is on the Collector turning the Boiling Isles into a giant Monopoly board, and King has to make up rules on the fly to prevent things from getting "worse".
And it's because of those little things along with how badly he wants a friend that lead me to believe he's not evil, just a lonely child who wants to play.
Yeah, I was thinking that, but at the same time, he did lift up his finger like he was gonna poke them - you know, same thing he just did to Belos. So, it's sort of unclear if he meant any harm in that moment or not.
A few things I really like was how the voice actor did the “ liar liar LIAR”. You could really feel the betrayal and anger and his voice, especially how his voice got higher and strained (it actually made me a little uncomfortable hearing it). The second was his reaction to King pinky swearing. It’s something that he very much values and to see King do must’ve felt great like a “finally someone who gets it” moment
You never know XD They will have to somehow negotiate with Collector .They can't defeat him by traping him becesue 1st .It would be making it someone else problem 2nd Kind of bad morally when trapping a child for thousands of years A way so he could play with them but at the same time couldn't so as he wants with reality.So maybe sharing a body with Luz.Why Luz? Well maybe it has to be human without magic or they won't survive?

He's not that unique he's like Majin Buu. Majin Buu was a powerful being who didn't know right from wrong and would follow orders in hopes of getting candy. He learns the error of his ways when he makes a friend. For the collector it was King and for Buu it was Hercule.
We shouldn't hate Collector for this. All he wanted was someone to play. Belos on the other hand deserves what he gets for tricking and manipulating everyone
And let's be real, if the collector didn't kill him, Luz and the others would have. Letting someone like Belos live is a mistake. And making that kind of mistake will bite you hard like bear trap equipped with the springs used in garage doors.

That episode and previous episodes showed that Belos was very powerful since the Collector taught him the most powerful types of magic. Belos was literally about the end Luz and the kids until the Collector stepped in.
I really hope we get more of this adorable chaotic child. I know they’re not evil, they’re just a playful kid who (I suspect) was never taught right from wrong. They need a friend and a family.
I don’t think The Collector looking like Luz is a coincidence (even if he never directly possessed her.) I think Collector is meant to remind us of Early Season 1 Luz. The Luz that let snakes out everywhere in her school, was jumping into situations without thinking, would get herself and her loved ones in danger, and wanted to get magic the fast and easy way. But Luz found people who loved and understood her quirks, but were willing to teach her and stick with her when she messed up. She not only became powerful but she uses that power responsibly. The Collector has power too, but doesn’t use it responsibly because nobody showed him how. As neither witch nor demon, he is already an outcast. Nobody was there to teach him, and if there were, they were probably more focused on punishing, repressing and shaming him rather than teaching him to embrace his power and quirks in a safe, healthy way. The Collector is what Luz could’ve been if she never emotionally matured.
I can see the hair in the sense that the Collector has hair that is sideswept, but that's about it. The eyes have more of an almond shape than Luz's and the nose is the sharp design. Luz's nose is round. There's, like, 4 different nose types in the show. If they wanted the Collector to look like Luz I imagine they would match the nose type.
Something tells me the collector is a sweet kid who's been trapped a bit too long that just made him go a bit cuckoo but I'm more worried about everything that just happened in the episode that I just watched because news flash what about everybody on the boiling isles collector

@@luisalvarado754 the collector still seems to be mentally a child too, as in that one flashback in I think it was clouds on the horizon when king was having a “vision?” Of the collector he was saying how they thought that belos was betraying him and everything they said sounded like what a child would actually react to being lied to, and that’s only one example
Now here’s the interesting point that’s been alluded to a few times: the Collector hates liars and bullies. That suggests that even if he/they are so OP that they’re absolutely terrifying, they aren’t going to lie to King, Luz, or any of the others. I think that thread will come back in the finale of the show, because it’s been mentioned too many times (“I don’t associate with fibbers,” “LIAR LIAR PANTS ON FIIRRREEEEEE”) for it to be purely incidental.
After watching the episode , He instantly became my favourite and relatable character ever cuz i was like that too a playful , cheerful and cute kid .... Ahhhhh i love The Collector soo much cuz hes just a innocent little kid and thats just soo adorable too me

He's just a shoulder and a head taller than King. Its not obvious because he never stands exactly next to one of the teen characters, but he's adorably tiny. It will be funny to see how Luz interacts with him when she's no longer terrified of him =)

I can imagine Eda and Collector having a mother-son relationship judging by Edalyn's maternal side and The Collector needs a family that loves him and can teach him whats right or wrong. He's just a playful child that wants to play but doesnt know whats right or wrong, like every kid is. I can also imagine King and Collector having a brotherly relationship in the end since Collector doesn't actually want to hurt nor kill King but just wants to have some fun and play games.
Headcanon of mine: after everything that’s happening Collector becoming a good character and Luz’s best friend kinda.. I mean.. they are like besties but also cousins like at this point I think
i love him so much, he’s adorable, it’s so sad how he’s literally just a kid, he doesn’t know right from wrong and wants to play games and have fun, literally the mind of a 5 year old with the power of god, i hate how people are like he’s not “pure evil” when i disagree, he’s not evil at all, in fact he doesn’t have morals because he never had to, he’s chaotic neutral and the people he’s interacted with his whole life have just been evil and so he’s been led down to do more evil things
I’m just gonna theorize that the reason the collector is “evil” (more of a chaotic neutral really) is because he cannot be properly disciplined.😅 The Collector has the mentality of a child, and like any other child, they’ll do whatever they find fun. The major difference is the fact that Collector hasn’t been punished like other kids. Kids need to be disciplined into knowing what they can do and should not do to set healthy boundaries. Collector has no boundaries that prevent him from hurting people when he plays with them because he’s too powerful, leaving people unable to discipline him into learning a proper sense of right and wrong. Even after being imprisoned by the Titan, he sadly hasn’t learned his lesson of “Playing Too Rough”.
I completely agree. The thing about the Titan imprisoning him though is that it doesn't really function as discipline. He just imprisoned him for thousands of years. The Collector has never had real friends or people that cared enough to actually teach him wrong from right. Not from the people that literally worship him and certainly not during the 400 years he spent with Belos. My hope is that the protagonists will become actual friends with him, thus giving him incentive to change because he would come to care about their opinions.
You know, knowing Hooty’s character- he and the Collector may actually be a good pair. Oftentimes, we get to know Hooty as this annoying, clingy ,cheery, but considerate character. Assuming things aren’t too messed up back in the boiling isles, I think both of them can form a good friendship together. Plus, Hooty IS the Owl House. Maybe that in itself is foreshadowing to an iconic duo in the future? 🤔
yeah i was thinking that too in the finale i predict they wont seal him but rather give him an alternative like living alongside with someone else or have like his own dimension since he seems too powerful for theirs
Everyone saying he’s a kid yet he’s been there with Belos from back when he went into the cave so he’s technically around Belos’s age since he was already like this back then. I think he is just an eternal child though. One who will never lose his love for playing but will also never mature.

I like how the main characters just froze into solidness when the collector showed up. They didn't even bother to move when the collector was gonna give them a "head start". They just stood their shitless because they know that they can't do anything to him after they just witnessed him splatter Belos across the wall.
Someone: we need a huge villain that is unstoppable. Powerful and bulky. Something that terrifies everyone Dana: what about the character Collector Someone: yeah. He seemed to be someone bad and scary up till now Dana: let's make him look and talk like a child. No one will suspect of him. His appearance will let everyone forget that that is not a child
You know what the collector gives me really strong fun gus vibes from kipo. From the first moment he was in King's dream, and those vibes have only gotten stronger. Somebody who just wants to play, but ultimately ends up hurting people in the process whether he realizes it, or not, And they're both pretty much kids. I honestly really like the direction they took with the collector. And part of me now wonders what would happen if he were to meet fun gus. like would they get along would they be bitter enemies because they both can't agree on a game to play, and they both want it their way.
He is like a puppy, puppies don't know how strong they bite and they end up hurting you while playing. I would like to call him a golden retriever type, jolly but strong
@@beeinatux yeah that reminds me of my little kitty. when he was a kitten he used to bite a lot harder than he does now is he's got an older. He's still a little guy he's only 7 months old, And he doesn't know his own strength, and sometimes tries to play with my hands like their toys, but sometimes he would scratch them so that's why I started trimming his claws. Because he was starting to get to the point where he could actually hurt me without even realizing it. cuz he just wanted to play with my hands. I've been trying to train him not to use my hands like play toys.
They are quite literally the cutest lil villain ever. Not evil, but a reckless kid with to much power in their hands. I love their character design too :D

Either that, or he realizes that he went too far, and just kinda gets scared of himself. Effectively fixing the mess he made, and eventually running away so no one ever had to see him again. Of course that’s depending on if Dana wants to go the angsty route or not

I can't hate this kid, I just can't. He automatically became my favorite character when I watched the episode. Also, since it's mentioned he's from the stars, I assume he ages like one. Makes we wonder if he'll remain a kid even when he gets to be billions of years old.
I just noticed in the "I always wanted to play with you!" line Collector's miniatures are bouncing a ball...Did the collector try to bounce King's egg like a ball? And titan papa was just like "Nope." and put the collector in magical time out? Quite the reach but a hilariously underwhelming backstory to the collector's imprisonment. I get the odd feeling collector wasn't the only one of their kind in the boiling isles, that the ones that trapped the owl creature, tricked the titan hunters into worshipping them, etc. are separate entities. They don't really sound like the acts of a kid too strong for their own good.
I personally see the Titan Trappers as totally misconstruing the Collector's words/actions - maybe they started killing Titans, thinking that was what the Collector wanted, because they didn't catch that he only wanted to "play" with the Titans. Maybe the Titans mistook the Trappers as a group the Collector directly told to cause harm, thus providing a more solid reason as to why King's dad would view the guy as a threat and someone he wouldn't want near his unhatched son. I see a lot of people forgetting that there's really no evidence the Collector even knows they have a cult. Hmm... Bill is lying about some things already, that's made clear - what if he's lying about having spoken to the Collector at all, paralleling Belos lying about speaking to the Titan?
I remember after seeing the episode i was thinking “what is going to happen when the collector finds out King was also kinda using him” like all hell is gonna break loose. While that definitely could still happen, i realised that the collector and King have a lot in common (obviously, that’s why King could hear the collector). But i think that it will stop hell breaking loose. The collector is clearly a kid with insane power, or at least a very childish person who gets manipulated and used because of it. He’s disregarded and only acknowledged when people need him. And that’s a struggle King knows all about. Having such big responsibilities is stressful and being labeled a titan with insane power was difficult for him. I really think that once Collector sees that King was using him, King will explain it all and they will hopefully bond over very similar experiences. And by doing so will reduce the collectors anger or tantrum
King only ever used the Collector once. And unlike Phillip, he kept his end of the bargain. He freed the Collector when he said he would, and he honored his promise to stay and play with him.
I think I know why he was fond with king since he is "Young" the collector sees it as "ah he is a kid just like me so OBVIOUSLY they would want to play games too:)"
Ahhhhh! I just love the way he says one of his last lines! "If we're gonna play Owl House. We're gonna NEED AN OWL HOUSE!" Makes me think that he's gonna turn the Boiling Isles into a version of the actual Owl House making the title of the show take on a whole new meaning
Someone else in the comments said it already, but I like the parallels between The Collector and Luz: naive and innocent, only want to have fun, but their “fun” may be at the expense of other people. And they have a habit of “taking things too far” without realizing how much it may hurt other people. Other than omnipotent powers, they’re almost the exact same person. I hope there’s an episode addressing this or at least Luz talking to the Collector. Also, the way he says “imprisonment” implies that he was trapped because someone didn’t like what he was doing, so sending him away was a method to “fix the problem.” Kinda like how Camilla wanted to send Luz to a camp to fix her bad habits.
But unlike the Collector, Luz became more and more responsible as the show progressed so both do parallel each other just in a different way. Kinda interesting if you think about it

i actually really like the parallel between king and the collector. as others mentioned, the collector is not really evil, they are just akid who wants to play, however, is tad too powerful to "play". king, on the other hand, is a titan and as seen in previous episodes, he is also sort of battling with haping a lot of power/responsibility on his shoulders. really interesting parallel! Mainly i'm just glad luz didn't get possessed lol
Another thing to reinforce some people's theories on him just being a lonely child: Towards the season finale when king is able to hear him talking, he states that he "won't be alone anymore" along with plenty of other things I can't remember. I view this as him saying "I won't be alone anymore, I'll finally have people to play with" Since remember the artifact that held him within it kept him trapped and unable to talk to people for god knows how long. He's just a lonely little kid that needs to be nurtured and taught right from wrong. He isn't a bad person, just a kid that doesn't know any better. I feel bad for him. :[
If the Collector is this powerful then how powerful was King's dad? He was able to lock away the collector and probably died trying but imagine how powerful King can grow up to be.

He has the wisdom and power of a god, yet the maturity of a child. He's not exactly bad, but I can understand why the Titan would seal away such an incredibly dangerous being.

Oh he’s such a cutieeeee When I first saw him I was a little freaked out thinking he’d be similar to Bill Cypher but he’s just a little kid with no true understanding of right and wrong who just needs a little nudge in the right direction. I feel like him and King are gonna be good friends and King can help him use is powers for good deeds. He sorta reminds me o my younger cousins. Very energetic and playful, yet not really having an understanding of certain boundaries
Honestly, I think hide and seek with the Collector could be loads of fun. He can hide in all sorts of places, and King's collar makes him invisible to the Collector.
I feel like releasing the collector was the right call, Belos would have been impossible to stop otherwise. There’s a better chance that they’ll be able to befriend the collector and fix any damage he might have caused. He is, after all, just a kid and might not know he’s hurting people. I think King and the collector will form a “bond” that starts out as King trying his best to keep chaos on the down low, but with time he’ll learn he and the collector have a lot in common and can relate more to each other. In the end they will open a portal and allow Luz and the crew to travel freely between worlds, as well as fix any damages.
King and the collector have to become best friends by the end of next season. I need the Child of Basically a God and Child with Unfathomable Power friendship dynamic!!!
to be fair, I doubt Belos was really taught magic, more so a shrapnel of the collector's power was in that artificial staff. Take the staff from Belos, and he just has shapeshifting as an ability, thats it. That and glyph magic.

Everyone is saying that the Collector is an innocent child like character but I think that maybe far from the truth. King’s dad locked him away for a reason, and gave him an amulet to hid himself from others. And in Hollow Minds, he jokes about the deaths of the Golden Guards. Even here, right before he is released he sounds so menacing convincing King to let him out. He can probably be redeemed but he is unnerving.
I think he's innocent, but, at the same time, so careless and naive his mere existence is a threat to everyone. He probably cause waaaaay too much chaos and destruction before he got sealed, but it genuinely seems he is mostly unaware of the consequences of his actions
King's Dad definitely locked him up because he's a danger to everyone. But I don't think it's because he's evil. Saying he's evil implies he's malicious in some way. But he's not, not really. He just wants a friend and to play with everyone. He believes in pinky swears for Titans's sake. He's a little manipulative and laughs at death and suffering but I think that's because he doesn't have the maturity to understand why those things are horrible. Children can be straight up sociopathic before we start to teach them right from wrong. The Collector is just a very powerful child who sees everything as a game.
There is a wall painting in the episode echo of the past that has two creatures battling and the one who is taller could be the collector true form if the collector can change his shape in a shadow who can say that he can change his shape without being a shadow
The way in which he brought up the death of the previous Golden Guards was definitely really unnerving. But even so, I cant really see him as evil. He sees everything as a game. He has no moral compass and he doesn’t know right from wrong. He has the mentality of a child, and on top of that he was trapped for years upon years. I’m not trying to justify what he said about the Golden Guards, because that was pretty messed up…But knowing the fact that he sees everything as a game, he probably saw what Belos did to the Guards as a game too. Hence why he said, “You have fun with it. Admit it!” Because he has no sense of reality, nobody that told him it was wrong, and he lacks empathy. Being trapped for hundreds of years, plus having that amount of power, plus being manipulated definitely warped whatever sense of reality he had, if he had any at all.

I like to think that when King’s dad called him out, it was possibly “Goodbye Son.” That when after sealing the Collector which resulted in his death, he wanted to say goodbye to his son one last time.

And it's because of those little things along with how badly he wants a friend that lead me to believe he's not evil, just a lonely child who wants to play.

A few things I really like was how the voice actor did the “ liar liar LIAR”. You could really feel the betrayal and anger and his voice, especially how his voice got higher and strained (it actually made me a little uncomfortable hearing it). The second was his reaction to King pinky swearing. It’s something that he very much values and to see King do must’ve felt great like a “finally someone who gets it” moment

That episode and previous episodes showed that Belos was very powerful since the Collector taught him the most powerful types of magic. Belos was literally about the end Luz and the kids until the Collector stepped in.

I don’t think The Collector looking like Luz is a coincidence (even if he never directly possessed her.) I think Collector is meant to remind us of Early Season 1 Luz. The Luz that let snakes out everywhere in her school, was jumping into situations without thinking, would get herself and her loved ones in danger, and wanted to get magic the fast and easy way.
But Luz found people who loved and understood her quirks, but were willing to teach her and stick with her when she messed up. She not only became powerful but she uses that power responsibly. The Collector has power too, but doesn’t use it responsibly because nobody showed him how. As neither witch nor demon, he is already an outcast. Nobody was there to teach him, and if there were, they were probably more focused on punishing, repressing and shaming him rather than teaching him to embrace his power and quirks in a safe, healthy way. The Collector is what Luz could’ve been if she never emotionally matured.

I can see the hair in the sense that the Collector has hair that is sideswept, but that's about it. The eyes have more of an almond shape than Luz's and the nose is the sharp design. Luz's nose is round. There's, like, 4 different nose types in the show. If they wanted the Collector to look like Luz I imagine they would match the nose type.

Now here’s the interesting point that’s been alluded to a few times: the Collector hates liars and bullies. That suggests that even if he/they are so OP that they’re absolutely terrifying, they aren’t going to lie to King, Luz, or any of the others. I think that thread will come back in the finale of the show, because it’s been mentioned too many times (“I don’t associate with fibbers,” “LIAR LIAR PANTS ON FIIRRREEEEEE”) for it to be purely incidental.

I’m just gonna theorize that the reason the collector is “evil” (more of a chaotic neutral really) is because he cannot be properly disciplined.😅 The Collector has the mentality of a child, and like any other child, they’ll do whatever they find fun. The major difference is the fact that Collector hasn’t been punished like other kids.
Kids need to be disciplined into knowing what they can do and should not do to set healthy boundaries. Collector has no boundaries that prevent him from hurting people when he plays with them because he’s too powerful, leaving people unable to discipline him into learning a proper sense of right and wrong. Even after being imprisoned by the Titan, he sadly hasn’t learned his lesson of “Playing Too Rough”.
I completely agree. The thing about the Titan imprisoning him though is that it doesn't really function as discipline. He just imprisoned him for thousands of years. The Collector has never had real friends or people that cared enough to actually teach him wrong from right. Not from the people that literally worship him and certainly not during the 400 years he spent with Belos. My hope is that the protagonists will become actual friends with him, thus giving him incentive to change because he would come to care about their opinions.
You know, knowing Hooty’s character- he and the Collector may actually be a good pair. Oftentimes, we get to know Hooty as this annoying, clingy ,cheery, but considerate character. Assuming things aren’t too messed up back in the boiling isles, I think both of them can form a good friendship together. Plus, Hooty IS the Owl House. Maybe that in itself is foreshadowing to an iconic duo in the future? 🤔

You know what the collector gives me really strong fun gus vibes from kipo. From the first moment he was in King's dream, and those vibes have only gotten stronger. Somebody who just wants to play, but ultimately ends up hurting people in the process whether he realizes it, or not, And they're both pretty much kids. I honestly really like the direction they took with the collector. And part of me now wonders what would happen if he were to meet fun gus. like would they get along would they be bitter enemies because they both can't agree on a game to play, and they both want it their way.
He is like a puppy, puppies don't know how strong they bite and they end up hurting you while playing. I would like to call him a golden retriever type, jolly but strong

He's still a little guy he's only 7 months old, And he doesn't know his own strength, and sometimes tries to play with my hands like their toys, but sometimes he would scratch them so that's why I started trimming his claws. Because he was starting to get to the point where he could actually hurt me without even realizing it. cuz he just wanted to play with my hands. I've been trying to train him not to use my hands like play toys.

I just noticed in the "I always wanted to play with you!" line Collector's miniatures are bouncing a ball...Did the collector try to bounce King's egg like a ball? And titan papa was just like "Nope." and put the collector in magical time out? Quite the reach but a hilariously underwhelming backstory to the collector's imprisonment. I get the odd feeling collector wasn't the only one of their kind in the boiling isles, that the ones that trapped the owl creature, tricked the titan hunters into worshipping them, etc. are separate entities. They don't really sound like the acts of a kid too strong for their own good.

I personally see the Titan Trappers as totally misconstruing the Collector's words/actions - maybe they started killing Titans, thinking that was what the Collector wanted, because they didn't catch that he only wanted to "play" with the Titans. Maybe the Titans mistook the Trappers as a group the Collector directly told to cause harm, thus providing a more solid reason as to why King's dad would view the guy as a threat and someone he wouldn't want near his unhatched son. I see a lot of people forgetting that there's really no evidence the Collector even knows they have a cult. Hmm... Bill is lying about some things already, that's made clear - what if he's lying about having spoken to the Collector at all, paralleling Belos lying about speaking to the Titan?
I remember after seeing the episode i was thinking “what is going to happen when the collector finds out King was also kinda using him” like all hell is gonna break loose. While that definitely could still happen, i realised that the collector and King have a lot in common (obviously, that’s why King could hear the collector). But i think that it will stop hell breaking loose.
The collector is clearly a kid with insane power, or at least a very childish person who gets manipulated and used because of it. He’s disregarded and only acknowledged when people need him. And that’s a struggle King knows all about. Having such big responsibilities is stressful and being labeled a titan with insane power was difficult for him. I really think that once Collector sees that King was using him, King will explain it all and they will hopefully bond over very similar experiences. And by doing so will reduce the collectors anger or tantrum
King only ever used the Collector once. And unlike Phillip, he kept his end of the bargain. He freed the Collector when he said he would, and he honored his promise to stay and play with him.
I'm so normal about them. They absolutely don't need it, but I would fight to defend his life and honor. I'm also drafting the adoption papers now.

Someone else in the comments said it already, but I like the parallels between The Collector and Luz: naive and innocent, only want to have fun, but their “fun” may be at the expense of other people. And they have a habit of “taking things too far” without realizing how much it may hurt other people.
Other than omnipotent powers, they’re almost the exact same person. I hope there’s an episode addressing this or at least Luz talking to the Collector. Also, the way he says “imprisonment” implies that he was trapped because someone didn’t like what he was doing, so sending him away was a method to “fix the problem.” Kinda like how Camilla wanted to send Luz to a camp to fix her bad habits.

i actually really like the parallel between king and the collector. as others mentioned, the collector is not really evil, they are just akid who wants to play, however, is tad too powerful to "play". king, on the other hand, is a titan and as seen in previous episodes, he is also sort of battling with haping a lot of power/responsibility on his shoulders. really interesting parallel! Another thing to reinforce some people's theories on him just being a lonely child: Towards the season finale when king is able to hear him talking, he states that he "won't be alone anymore" along with plenty of other things I can't remember. I view this as him saying "I won't be alone anymore, I'll finally have people to play with" Since remember the artifact that held him within it kept him trapped and unable to talk to people for god knows how long. He's just a lonely little kid that needs to be nurtured and taught right from wrong. He isn't a bad person, just a kid that doesn't know any better. I feel bad for him. :[

When I first saw him I was a little freaked out thinking he’d be similar to Bill Cypher but he’s just a little kid with no true understanding of right and wrong who just needs a little nudge in the right direction. I feel like him and King are gonna be good friends and King can help him use is powers for good deeds.

I feel like releasing the collector was the right call, Belos would have been impossible to stop otherwise. There’s a better chance that they’ll be able to befriend the collector and fix any damage he might have caused. He is, after all, just a kid and might not know he’s hurting people. I think King and the collector will form a “bond” that starts out as King trying his best to keep chaos on the down low, but with time he’ll learn he and the collector have a lot in common and can relate more to each other. In the end they will open a portal and allow Luz and the crew to travel freely between worlds, as well as fix any damages.

Everyone is saying that the Collector is an innocent child like character but I think that maybe far from the truth. King’s dad locked him away for a reason, and gave him an amulet to hid himself from others. And in Hollow Minds, he jokes about the deaths of the Golden Guards. Even here, right before he is released he sounds so menacing convincing King to let him out. He can probably be redeemed but he is unnerving.
I think he's innocent, but, at the same time, so careless and naive his mere existence is a threat to everyone. He probably cause waaaaay too much chaos and destruction before he got sealed, but it genuinely seems he is mostly unaware of the consequences of his actions

King's Dad definitely locked him up because he's a danger to everyone. But I don't think it's because he's evil. Saying he's evil implies he's malicious in some way. But he's not, not really. He just wants a friend and to play with everyone. He believes in pinky swears for Titans's sake. He's a little manipulative and laughs at death and suffering but I think that's because he doesn't have the maturity to understand why those things are horrible. Children can be straight up sociopathic before we start to teach them right from wrong. The Collector is just a very powerful child who sees everything as a game.
There is a wall painting in the episode echo of the past that has two creatures battling and the one who is taller could be the collector true form if the collector can change his shape in a shadow who can say that he can change his shape without being a shadow
The way in which he brought up the death of the previous Golden Guards was definitely really unnerving. But even so, I cant really see him as evil. He sees everything as a game. He has no moral compass and he doesn’t know right from wrong. He has the mentality of a child, and on top of that he was trapped for years upon years. I’m not trying to justify what he said about the Golden Guards, because that was pretty messed up…But knowing the fact that he sees everything as a game, he probably saw what Belos did to the Guards as a game too. Hence why he said, “You have fun with it. Admit it!” Because he has no sense of reality, nobody that told him it was wrong, and he lacks empathy. Being trapped for hundreds of years, plus having that amount of power, plus being manipulated definitely warped whatever sense of reality he had, if he had any at all.

The collector is one of my favorite characters cuz he’s just a kid with extreme power. He literally flicked belos into an oblivion with his finger. He moved the moon with one touch. He is probably one of the most powerful characters I know.
