Just remember to do some warm-ups before you start, don't overdo it, and keep breathing during the exercises. it's good for your health! 😄

The basic right-hand technique here is alternating bass, a very common style in American folk and country, occasionally in blues. Sometimes known in the US as "Travis picking". Mark Hanson has a few books on the technique - I recommend his because he starts the right way, with complete patterns. (Some people talk about the "independent thumb", but that's a myth, not helpful if you're just starting out.) There are plenty of lessons on youtube - ua-cam.com/users/results?search_query=alternating+bass+fingerpicking+ - I haven't checked them all, so won't recommend specific ones. Personally I taught myself from copying records back in the 60s - and I think I started with Bert's Running from Home, a good intro to the style. There are lessons on that too: ua-cam.com/users/results?search_query=bert+jansch+running+from+home+lessons (and video of Bert himself playing it).
I may put together a lesson or two on the basics of Bert's style, but it won't be soon.
