- Composition by Ralph McTell. From the Russell Harty Show, BBC TV, in advance of 'A Concert of Guitar Music' in aid of the Samaritans at the Barbican Centre on December 18th 1982. Huge thanks to Colin Fowler for the video (originally posted on the Bert Jansch Tribute facebook page) - this has just been tweaked a little to fix the aspect.

Magic.
Song seems even more relevant today than ever
I remember seeing Burt Jansch in a pub when I was 15 in Chelmsford, Essex. Never forgot him.

🙌🏻
Didn't know Tucker Carlson was on BBC in the Eighties.
Wow, Ralph McTell stuff is so hard to find. And, why the need for anyone else there playing?
As the introduction implies, all of them were about to take part in a charity concert, so came as a package advertising the event. Ralph and Bert were old pals from way back (lived together in the 70s, and Bert's manager was Ralph's brother). You're right, neither Bert nor John add much of significance to what Ralph is playing. John noodles some minimal lead lines, and I'm not sure you can hear Bert at all (mosty just doubling what Ralph is playing). Still, you do get three guitar geniuses for the price of one...
That'S not just 'anyone else', that's Bert Jansch and John Williams!!
