    Dr I want to thank you for a life saving incident. I m 18yo, Yesterday my brother in law (sisters side) had a road accident..he was at backseat of motorbike & didn't wear helmet, when taken to a govt hospital the doctor said he is ok no need to to do any kind of diagnosis although he was bleeding from his crown & vomiting constantly, when I heard that I insisted 100 times that no doctor can say whether smtng is wrong without a diagnosis like MRI (This is one of the things I learnt from you❤️).. the next day when they did that..they found he had severe injury to the head & blood clot..which could've killed him. I m just thankfull to God that I have encountered you🥹..I m aspiring to be a doctor & human like you in the future
    ..God bless🫂❤️

    I work for a Neurologist and we are heavily using it to help with migraine patients. I can happily say, about 95% of our patients notice a huge difference ☺️. However, our government in Canada does not support this treatment, therefore does not want to assist in helping patients to pay for it. So a lot of times, patients need to have extended benefits to cover the majority of the cost, in order to get it.

    Dr. Mike, as someone who has suffered with severe vaginismus, I'm so happy to see it mentioned in this video. There is not enough awareness of the condition, and many women try to painfully put up with it for years before seeking treatment, because of misinformation, shame, and thinking that sex is supposed to be painful for us, when that's just not supposed to be the case. Botox is one treatment that is used more as a secondary option and in conjunction with physical and/or mental therapy. So many suffer in silence. Hopefully this little bit of info can help someone.

    Botox is also used in the vocal cords-when someone has aphonia due to paralysis of a vocal cord in the open position, Botox can be injected to help make the cord more closed, allowing the non paralyzed cord to make contact with it during phonation, thus restoring a person’s voice.

    I have a super rare (and minor) medical condition that's been discovered in the past few years known as R-CPD. Essentially one of the muscles in my throat responsible for letting food go down and letting gas pass back up only works 'one way', so food can go down, but I'm almost entirely unable to burp or pass gas upwards. The results are gas bloating (sometimes painful cramps), weird digestive noises, and possible link to IBS (which I have), among a few other little things. The current treatment for it is to get a botox injection into the aforementioned muscle, which relaxes it and causes it to 'work properly'. I haven't gotten the treatment yet because only a few places do it, but yeah! Botox can be very useful.

    Finding botox treatment for migraines completely changed my life. I was having at least one migraine a week and I had no life. I was constantly under the threat of disciplinary action from work due to time off sick. The agony was unbearable. I was eventually referred to the neurology department at my local hospital and, having looked at my history and all the drugs I'd been on, the consultant immediately recommended me for botox. I had my first injections done there and then. In the last 10 years, I've only had 8 migraines, which is nothing short of a miracle. I'm so unbelievably happy that I found this treatment.

When I went to the neurologist to talk to him about how bad my tics have gotten and told him how my neck and upper back muscles were constantly tense from those specific tics, he referred me to a place to get botox in the neck muscles. I am also saving money to get some in my jaw for my TMJ disorder. I have severe bruxism at even during the day at times, nothing has helped. My dentist told me to not take muscle relaxants since there's a risk it could make my jaw slide off completely. It's quite incredible how versatile it can be!

So I can’t wear short sleeves or long sleeves(I wear long sleeve’s only if I need to.) So we tried antiseptics but none isn’t working. So we are now trying Botox and I get my first injection next week. And I honestly cannot wait

  • @sweedishthunder9232
    @sweedishthunder9232 24 дні тому +7

    Botox REALLY works for treating hyperhidrosis! Unfortunately for me, hyperhidrosis is considered an illness in the EU but NOT in Sweden where I live. I've gone through two treatments. The first one lasted 3-4 months, but the second lasted 15 WONDERFUL months! Initially after the first treatment, I had "ghost sweating", as it felt like I was severely sweating from my head, but when I touched it, it was completely dry!
    Living with hyperhidrosis means that you always need to have a few spare sets of clothing at work. Once I start sweating because of my condition, it can take 30-120 minutes before it stops, regardless of my environment.
    I can highly recommend botox as a treatment if you can afford it. My treatment consisted of 400-500 tiny injections on my head and torso, and took well over an hour each time.

    I have something on a throat muscle (sorry for the lack of medical specific terms) that makes me unable to burp. Which sounds like not that important, but it causes some discomforting things to happen. For example, I can't drink beers or sodas because of the carbonated gas. Since I cant burp, the gas will just accumulate and it gets to a point where I can't even be standing up or breathe properly.
    That to say: the treatment for this condition, from what I've seen, is using botox to relax the throat muscles that allow for burping

      Another commenter above
      @sora15151SomethingAppropriate
      Had this to say:
      "I have a super rare (and minor) medical condition that's been discovered in the past few years known as R-CPD. Botox can be very useful."

    Person with vaginismus here. I hope Botox for this condition gets FDA approved soon and more insurances start taking it seriously, and accepting to pay for it. I’ve had the condition for years and unfortunately have never overcome it with traditional PT/Stretching/Dilation. It may be my last resort but could be expensive if my insurance doesn’t cover it. Thanks for talking about this condition! ❤️

    I work in GI and we often inject into the gastric pylorus to treat gastroparesis. The idea is that the pyloric sphincter will stay open and promote the food to moving into the intestines instead of just staying in the stomach for a prolonged amount of time.

    It’s also used to treat a condition called Retrograde Cricopharyngeal Dysfunction. It’s a condition where you’re unable to burp, and mainly make weird gurgling noises or extreme bloating. It’s injected into some muscles in the throat because they won’t relax to allow a burp. It’s causes a few other problems like difficulty vomiting and throat pain.

    On the topic of Hyperhidrosis, I'd highly recommend Suction Curettage surgery, if the issues severe enough to warrant it.
    Botox for Hyperhidrosis is expensive and requires ongoing treatment, whereas suction curettage is just the one-off pricey payment, but the results are in my experience exactly what you'd expect the average person to sweat.
    There was concerns of my body needing to redirect the sweat to other glands for the body to thermoregulate, but it's been two years and I've had zero issues. I think it's the best decision I've ever made.

    I got treated for primary hyperhydrosis using botox. I was once morbidly obese, and I sweated a lot, but I always just thought the sweat was due to being obese, but when I lost the weight, I kept on sweating. It was a huge blow to my self-esteem, because even after losing all of that weight, I was still dripping sweat from my forehead. So I went to the doctor and got a diagnosis of primary focal hyperhydrosis, and he started out by prescribing some heavy duty anti-perspirants, but that ended up causing a rash on my skin instead. He then referred me to a botox clinic, who injected botox into the skin of my scalp and forehead, and it worked wonders.
    I still have to go in for new injections every few months, but my God, my self-esteem got a massive boost and I don't have to walk around worrying about when I'm going to break into a sweat.
