      I love the videos you explain so well. I’m new in the RC world so is kind of hard to understand other UA-camrs but you explain so well. I have some questions, is it possible to increase the steering angle? I want to play with my son on the table, but the cars are too powerful and keep falling off. Is there a way to control them better? I bought the version with gyro and would really appreciate some help 🙏

      @@Vindisel3839 Thank you, I try to cover everything that I can since I understand how hard it is to get all the information you need in these RC hobbies as I was(and still am sometimes) in the same boat lol At the moment there is no way to increase the steering angle unless you tear down the car and modify it, get rid of the stock electronics for an aftermarket set and 3d print a new chassis design to allow more angle. For the power are you driving it on full power(red light on transmitter)? if so drop it down to half power(yellow light) or even to lowest setting which is like 20% power(green light). That may give you better control in small tight spaces.

    • @Vindisel3839
      @Vindisel3839 Місяць тому +3

      Thank you so much! I drive it in yellow because I've noticed that if I drive it in green, it doesn't drift. I guess there's not much more to do, but thanks! One more question. Do you think this is the best mini RC car in this price range, or do you know of better options?

    • @AirToGroundRCFPV
      @AirToGroundRCFPV  Місяць тому +2

      @@Vindisel3839 Well they are increasing in price so it's hard to say that now, they definitely were when they were less than 25 bucks. At this size there aren't many other options for little rc cars that look like the real thing so for 1/43 at the moment it probably is the best option. But for first time drift car in the 40 to 60 dollar range the best overall option is likely the LDRC 1/18 scale RC cars since is closer to a "hobby grade" type drift car and modding and upgrading it is not too difficult to do.

    Ha! I'm doing the same thing tonight... just taking it one step further was gona cut the back and make air vent and adding 2 colored springs and looking at sodering some leds on the open back slots under the board for under glow... might even go play and play with strip lights and 1.0 jst plug... have got that far.. but it's rent free in my head...
    These cars are so fun.

      Haha Nice, keep the mods coming my friend. They are just like little versions of the MA-020 with the AWD drifting. I have some 2.5mm led strips I don't use anymore from some other projects that I will put underneath for under glow as well, then eventually I'll add a fpv setup and rebuild the chassis with more steering angle and RWD since I can't help myself lol Let me know how your mods go and when I'm done with mine I will of course share it on here.

      @@tommillicantm Look around for 2.5mm led strips or smaller if there are any and see what you can do. I have old ones from long ago that I will reuse for these cars but I will be soldering them on and rebuilding some of these cars so you're probably gonna have to find your own way of hooking them up.

    Today I dove into the chassis and really take a hard look at it. I'm going to try to re-create the front setup, in the rear by 3d printing a new chassis and whatnot. Still designing but I think it will work to add suspension to the rear.

    • @AirToGroundRCFPV
      @AirToGroundRCFPV  Місяць тому

      Nice, I took one apart a while back as well and noticed that the front differential has potential to be a rear diff with a RWD set up. I'm gonna drop a vid next week to show the internals to those who haven't dove into one like we have so others can see what's goin on inside of one. These definitely need a redesign but many people won't be able to 3d print their chassis so this rear suspension mod is all some will be able to do. It's gonna be awhile before I can start on my design since I'm working on so many cars at once but let me know how it goes for you if things work out or not.

      @2Mackfish Місяць тому

      @@AirToGroundRCFPV hey, just a bit of an update. I really dove into it and started some sketches up in planning for the simplest way possible without using a 3d printer. I used a 3d pen to draw out some parts. The only way I was able to figure out how to add the rear suspension is to make it rwd only. So I went ahead and did that. Just configuring the rear piece in a way that will work.

    • @AirToGroundRCFPV
      @AirToGroundRCFPV  Місяць тому +1

      It does on rougher surfaces and when you put the rubber tires on for racing it hops a lot when turning so it helps get rid of that. It's better to have some dampening in the rear than none at all but if you have a smooth enough surface and just use it for drifting then you don't have to change anything if you think it's fine.

    I don’t have any springs like that laying around I’m going to try a spring out of a clicky top pen and unwind it someon the end to make it big enough to catch on the chassis. If that don’t work I’ll be doing the foam method.

    • @AirToGroundRCFPV
      @AirToGroundRCFPV  Місяць тому +2

      That could work, let me know if it does so you can tell others to use a pen spring if they want. The foam is also another option for sure I just forgot to mention that. I also have a link to some springs that seem like the right size for a couple bucks as a last resort if needed.

  • @MonsterPartsRc
    @MonsterPartsRc Місяць тому

    Would a pen spring work? (Cut obviously…) if they do, you could get several from one spring, and they are probably softer than a front suspension spring from a larger car especially since front springs are designed for heavier cars

    • @AirToGroundRCFPV
      @AirToGroundRCFPV  Місяць тому +1

      Might not be wide enough but give it a try. Mini-Zs aren't that heavy so the front spring is fine but like I said don't go out and buy those since they are expensive. The K969 spring is fine too, for drift cars you want stiff rear suspension not soft but it doesn't really matter since this isn't real suspension, you are just dampening the body from the chassis so it doesn't work the same.

      Like I said it's not real suspension, it does help dampen the bounciness of the car when making fast turns especially with the rubber tires on. Either way no one said you had to do it if you don't want but there are many people that want to have something instead of nothing.
