what did you settle on for gyro gain? Also one undocumented feature I saw on a random site is that you can now also save the steering trim: Memory Function Setup: After pairing, adjust the vehicle’s direction travel slightly. Turn off the remote control first, wait for the vehicle's light to flash, then turn off the vehicle to complete the memory function setup.
Thanks for reminding me, I remember you said that and I just forgot to mention it in the video so I will pin your comment for people to see. So far I haven't settled on a certain percent for drifting since I feel like different settings are good depending on what way you wanna drift, for example: 40-70% seems good for tight circles and whipping the backend around for quick directional change. 70-100% seems to work better for bigger sweeping drifts, larger controlled circles It kind of drifts similar to my AWD Mini-Z which is much different than say my RWD K969 with max steering. I plan on modding one to be RWD and will do my best to increase the steering angle to see how it performs with that setup over AWD since I prefer RWD.
I'm glad I'm watching this video because I bought the gyro version after your initial video but before the official gyro version video and was scared I'd be receiving a worse rc car than the original
Yea luckily it's actually pretty good, you never know with these cheap gyros they throw on these cars if they are gonna suck or not. This one is good enough to where spending the extra money for an aftermarket gyro is really not needed now. Glad I could help you out and put your mind at ease that you didn't waste your money lol
Thanks for the great video, really informative! If you really really had to say, without factoring in price, only driving and drift quality, which would you take between the dasmikro v5 and built in gyro version?
Well there's a few things I would factor in to answer that. I would say the DasMikro V5 is a better gyro than the built in one but the convenience of the knob on the radio of the gyro version is nice and is still a good gyro for what it is. What's nice with the DasMikro gyro though is I can still use it if I want to upgrade the electronics on the car to my own receiver and esc set up and also I can take the DasMikro off and throw it on a different car for a bit and put it back on whenever I want so for someone with multiple cars I test and run it's nice I can swap the gyro back and forth without needed to buy a bunch more gyros.
Yea that's basically what I'm gonna do to one of them and see how it comes out, I'm curious to see how they perform with RWD setup. Getting more angle is also on my to do list but it's going to be a full rebuild mod up front to get what I'm looking for. Good luck with yours and I'll make videos eventually on how mine came out once I get around to it.

Well at this size, nothing else at the moment. I've looked around but if you want something bigger around the same price that drifts well then there is the LDRC 1/18 scale drift cars that are really good for around 40 to 60 bucks.
Hello sir, good job and thank you for your really informative video! I would like to buy one of these (of course V2 version with gyro), but I really don't know which one to choose. I am deciding between a Porsche and a BMW, but I don't know, which one is beter for drifting. Can you please help me? Is the Porsche a better choice for drifting because of the bigger wheels? I like more BMW, but drifting performance is more important for me then beauty. What is your choice with your experience with this RC cars in this case? Thank you very much for your reply.
You're welcome, surprisingly it doesn't really seem to matter too much either way. The BMW drifts really well for the smaller wheels and since they are AWD the symmetry between the front and back tires having the same size works for the little cars. Now I don't have the version of the Porsche with the built in gyro so it's hard to compare exactly since the external DasMikro gyro I was running on it performs a little bit different so it's hard for me to say that the bigger tires are better like I originally thought they would be. If you were going to use them for racing I think the bigger wheels on the Porsche give it an advantage for grip and control on a race track over the smaller wheels but when it comes to drifting I don't think the bigger wheels really give that much of a performance boost over the smaller wheels in terms of drifting. So I guess it comes down to your preference on which body looks better to you in the end, I hope that helps.
@@AirToGroundRCFPVThank you for your answer, it was really helpful. So you don't have the Porsche at now? Because I have another 2 question :) How long is the wheelbase? It is same in both car right? Most gyros will work as long as you have the connectors to connect to the main board. Many people have tested the dasmikro and usually don't have any complaints so it really comes down to whether you wanna take a chance on something else a little cheaper or go with the dasmikro v5.
