This tactic won't work in bigger rb matches, but it does work in sim and rb 1v1's
So, lemme get this straight. In live matches, you sacrifice two missiles and some flight performance for the ability to close the range to a couple people who are using TWS. And in 1v1's, you can be potentially countered by the dude just STT locking you right at the start. A better solution here might be just to hold a notch, wait for them to close to within 25km, lock them with your radar swept to the side, and then off-bore the missile to neutralize the fight? Or, a better solution may just be to give the plane better missiles so it can actually stand and swing 😭

give aim120 its time in the spotlight, 27er had a bigger performance gap on anything else than the 120 has over the 77 rn
@@FishFlys That logic doesn't work. "R-27ER was king for so long, let the Russians get pummeled a bit" is just bad for balance. Know what that sounds like in plane terms? "The F-14A was clubbing the Russians so hard, so they should get Su-27 with full kit before the US gets F-16 or F-15".
The Su-27 had ER and HMD over F-15, but that was it. F-15C now has virtually every single advantage over Su-27SM except now dogfight performance is tied due to F-15C's extra weight (Something F-15J doesn't have to deal with).
Give both sides equally capable missiles with similar performing aircraft. It's as simple as that. No more of this "Well you got to club last patch" mentality.

still wondering if N001VEP should be as slow as the old N019 and N001, that TWS at close range is worse than using eyes
what's more ironic is even the Indian Mig21 got a better radar than N001VEP ffs

It should be more similar to the Zhuk-M in modes tho in scan speed idk,now in range should be able to STT a fighter size around 150km but depending on altitude ...in WT alt conditions should be around 120 130km and has a scan range of 290km for larger targets...in WT stood exact same as the N001V with 100km scan range and 85km track range...also could track 10 targets simultaneosly not 2....
@@M0LOCK yeah in its current dogshit state it's only barely usable with STT to maintain guildance for either R77 or R27, multi target engagement is much worse than 29SMT

Aero I’m not sure if you know but the SU-27 does have a radar gun sight that works really well when your first person. Gotta set a keybind to switch the cockpit sight and without a lock it’ll be a funnel, with a lock and within gun range it’ll switch to a t you can use really easily

I think i once accidently shot aim-120 to oncoming missile and that saved me in air rb, anyone tested if that can be done to defeat missiles and close distance reliably or am i just tripping?
It should be able to work. It's probably hard to do though.

Red Team is Outranged, Outnumbered and has underwhelming airframes. Cant BVR long range, gotta get as close as you can but avoid the merge. (Any tips or is it just is what it is?)
My best tip is to play passive. Either fly near friendly airfileds or use the edge of the map to flank the enemy hard. Once you kill someone, run the hell away. And try not to spook people with your radar.
fly clockwise around the map with radar off at an alt that doesnt produce contrails and just sneak withing 10-20km and start picking targets, i get alot of kills with the MICA's this way which arent all that different from the r-77 (besides 50g thrust vectoring)
The fact that this works, or the fact that heatseekers regularly track missiles launched by the actual target, proves how busted and dumb this game really is.
so an idiot can just fly towards you, fire the missiles and you should not only jump through the hoops, but do it skillfully lol. awesome.

The 54C's will definitely put range the R-77's by a huuuuge margin. 9L's are 9L's .. not great unless you get a perfect rear aspect afterburner shot, but if it gets down to real low speeds and you can survive the first few turns and the R-73's, the Tomcat will get the better of the Flanker!
