I'm trying to make a Ghired Human Tribal deck, and Kessig Malcontents looks like the absolute PERFECT finisher to put in there! hanks for recommending it, I wouldn't have known it existed otherwise!
hhmm i built human tribal with Kenrith, treating his +1 counter ability like a medal/badge that the king bestows to his poeple, Marchesa Black Rose, Reyhan Last of Abzan, Basris Leutenant, Will bender, Abzan Falconer, Herald of War, all upgrade those medals, i normally dislike +1 counter strategies because the information managment gets out of hand but found my muse with this approach, no other card in the deck bestows +1 counters except Kenrith, then it has a aristocrat style side theme of sac and enter style token build with Kenriths reanimate ability usng cards like Reverent Hoplite that builds armies, but theres no life drain as i find it makes Aristocrat style play like solitair, so instead you must attack with said armies, i love it! it feels like your commanding a city of humans with a king, it pushes this aggressive human army while not being beyond Kenrith to help others with similiar political agendas haha

i’m late but i think what makes trynn and silvar better than jirina is the value you get from a 1/1 each turn. in mardu that 1/1 almost always gets turned into cards, and guaranteeing 1 per turn means you can churn through much more of your deck to keep ramping and drawing more cards. silvar is just a subtoptimal wincon if you need, most of the time you don’t sac tokens to it

would have to disagree with general kudro just being a worse jirina. Exiling from graveyard is one of the best ways to stop peoples insta wins with and the removal portion of his card is another way to get rid of peoples win conditions at instant speed. Sure his buff is +1/+1 instead of +2/+0 but everything else (apart from he lack of red) about him is better.
The problem with him is he just becomes a large creature with no evasion. He would do better in a deck that is specifically equipped to use his power in some way!
Man, you guys are really cool, I grabbed two of the Chulane decks at retail randomly at a Walmart when they were dumb over priced. Haven't built Humans around him but I plan to, I only have like 8 decks, and 3 of em are basically just prebuilt with any upgrades I had laying around. I moved away from my play group recently and we'd draft ALOT! so meh.
The problem with Mangara is he looks so dumb. That guy does not look like a diplomat. He isn't clean-shaven or bearded, just covered in stubble. He isn't wearing a robe, that's a dress. He is just sitting in a chair in a messy room. He is so good, but I wouldn't play him without an altered art. Wizards just HATES mono white players.
I think the reason why people were so disappointed in jirina, is because she's basically a worse version of edgar markov. She's a bit cheaper to cast, but she is nowhere near as good at making tokens. The buffs they give are about the same, but edgar's stays even if he leaves the field, and grows every turn. He's also more of a threat in his own right, whereas jirina usually just stays behind as a mediocre blocker. I know it's not really fair to compare her to one of the best commanders ever made, but because they are so similar, you kind of end up comparing them anyway.
I'm going to have to unsubscribe, unpatron, and speak to your supervisor after that disturbing eating noise you both made while talking about Notion Thief.
I built Jirina after y’all hyped her up and now she’s one of my favs and it was very inexpensive to build her good

My jirina deck has yet to lose its 10-0 against some pretty good decks all around 7s power scale they never respect the Mardu Queen!

I've been running the partner Commanders on a AristoTax (Aristocrats and Taxes 😅😅) approach and it kind of works pretty well.
