My God! I remain absolutely in awe of the seemingly endless expression of profound and transcendent talent by Jacob Collier.
Let's start out with playing guitar and piano at the same time, and then sing with remarkable agility, range and perfectly in tune (in microtones at 2:16) to a harmonically and rhythmically advanced orchestral arrangement of a beautiful piece he composed that builds to a thoroughly satisfying musical conclusion at 7:10 . . . and do it live, in one take with disarming humility, at only age 22.
For some, it might take multiple listenings before it fully grows on you.

I’m so incredibly happy someone else noticed it was microtone, I think that’s the coolest moment in the song for me aside from the tuning change from 432 to 440

@@britneycatKISS Well, he's right. Today's pop culture has been dumbed down to mostly one chord pieces for the masses. One has to dig deep to find the hidden gems in between all of the garbage.

Ouch. Got me again. Wow. Almost as if your music is controlling my emotions. Well of course it is. Shouldn't be able to do that to a 55 year old bloke. Perfect use of melody, harmony, rhythm and orchestra. Hope you're not peaking early young master Collier. I'm beside myself anticipating what you're going to do next. Yet again. Thank you so much.

He's certainly not peaking. Most of his works show a very sporadic, underdeveloped writing style IMO. I'm interested to see what he does in 10 to 20 years

I've been to a lot of festivals/performances, but the quality and talent at Northsea jazz was just spectaculair. Usually you kinda go to a live performance for the experience/artist, but often the sound isn't that great. But when i heard Jacob, Cory and the Metropole Orkest play together live i was blown away. The orchestra amplified Jacobs performance, filling the whole hall with a big and warm harmony. Beautiful music and live performance, bravo.
Hope to see you again at Northsea Jazz next year Jacob.
