This is totally crazy! I went to Jacob's gig in Estonia this past summer thinking it's totally bizarre as I moved to EST from London. He is genius! Now, I came across the list of events in Tallinn this autumn and I see Cory Henry that I had never heard of... just thinking... how amazing it would be seeing and listening to these two geniuses together and guess what! They already collaborated, I just didn't know about it! :-D 2024 is full of Jacob and Cory to me!
I was here at this concert, standing right before Cory. It was the most wonderful experience seeing them interact together, communicating through music. I specifically remember how quiet it was during Purple Rain, I could hear the sounds coming from stage. A very memorable evening!
@@williamshakespeare9815 lol watch him makes me realize the truly infinate nature of music, when i get afraid to pick up my guitar because a chord sound "off" or i cant "come up with anything good" i am reminded that literally anything is musical in nature if you accept it and do it with confidence. Jacobs spirit is once in a lifetime
Thanks for sharing this beyond amazing concert of the most gifted musicians in this generation. . Thank you Premium UA-cam for putting this on my face . It has been a dream of mine to hear a collab from Jacob and Corey . Huge fan of both of them. And this is in 2017? We need another collab from them now and include Mohini Dey in the bass.and John Meyer on the guitar. Let the new gifted generation create an out of this world new kind of jazz.
Human Nature. The jewel in your Crown! I've got tickets for Manchester Arena in December. Pleeeeeeease Jacob, do your amazing rendition of this Michael Jackson song 🙏🫶🙏
The drummer grooves like hell!! And yeah the soundguy ist only used to do orchestral mixes. He has no ear for details like jacobs vocoder which is a huge part of is performance.
It’s a nice change from many large band performances where we can pick out perhaps 4 or 5 instruments and everything else sadly blurs into the background. I’ve attended concerts by both artists (Cory Henry in Buffalo NY and Jacob Collier in Toronto). They’re indescribably good. This particular performance is a new way to hear them both.
It would have been so much groovier and more soulful if the orchestra was dialed waaaaaaaay back. Orchestras "whiten" everything so much. It's weird how the more people you add, the less soul you hear.
Jacob has a very "square" sound to his voice sometimes. There isn't a focus on a single tone. I wonder if he's trying to vocalize chords/ harmonies. I've caught myself doing this with similar results. It took me a while to realize what I was doing and why.

The orchestral version of "In the Real Early Morning" is one of the best songs ever. Every single time I listen to it, I end up in tears.

Purple Rain😢!!!! Thank you, Cory!!!! Prince Rogers Nelson forever in our ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
The video Jacob did with Snarky Puppy was the song to start this video. How cool is that. What talented musicians. Jacob, Corey, Metropole!!!!!!!
What STUNNING music❤. From wonderful Netherlands. Jacob, you are a joy and your talent shines wherever you go. And as for Cory’s voice- just wow ✨🫶🏻✨

22:40 that low brass absolutely sends me every time, definitely my favorite part of this show
Non mi stancherò mai, fino alla mia fine, di ascoltare la buona Musica e i concerti meravigliosi come questo!!! 🙏🙏🙏.................
I didn't know Corey had such a powerful voice! Kudos to all the brilliant musicians!
Might starve, can't quit watching! Captivated here in my little cabin in the woods.
The New jazz paradigma. Wow
Jacob x Cory = LEGENDS!
These guys constantly bring tears to my eyes.
I like Cory‘s voice.
Amazing, stunning, masterful, masterpiece is just a few words to describe this
Happy 30th Birthday, JACOB (today!)
What day is “today”, my friend?
The whole concert is a masterpiece with its peak at 1:18:28 with a great DISCO song ! Disco one of the best style of Music EVER!!!
"I thought it was you" by Herbie Hancock - check out the original, it's amazing (That entire album is actually really good!)
play it at x1.25
Jacob at age 23 and Cory at 30 there ... what a musical maturity...
Meanwhile I felt smart because I finally understood what time signatures meant at 29

i just love jazz❤
2017?? How have I never seen this??
Superbe. Happy birthday 🎂❤
I Thought It Was You was absolutely killer!
The drummer grooves like hell!! And yeah the soundguy ist only used to do orchestral mixes. He has no ear for details like jacobs vocoder which is a huge part of is performance.
I enjoyed the music but the audio mix was disappointing where featured artist solos and vocals were routinely buried by the orchestra.
The sound engineers who work for metropole tend to do that sadly, I only had it once sound amazing

I think it’s mastering problem. It sounds very smashed in the loud parts!
It would have been so much groovier and more soulful if the orchestra was dialed waaaaaaaay back. Orchestras "whiten" everything so much. It's weird how the more people you add, the less soul you hear.
Came here to say the same thing. Overall mixed nice but they really don’t know how to
Bring out the soloists in their mix.
This boy man🔥🔥
35:51 bassist owning it 🔥
I thought it was a new one.... I jumped out of my seat
FINALLY OH MY GOD
A good rehearsal
Jacob and Cory are both excellent keyboarders
No - out of this world :-)
Pretty amazing
It's a real bummer that Jacob Collier's harmonizer was super quiet in the mix.
24:51 This is how the audience reacts when Cory Henry interact with sheet music.
Bahahaaaa for rreaaaal hahahaaaa
I think they were sad because the stand blocked his face lol, that's why he moved it back to where it was
1:17:26 Sound check with Jacob Collier.
Like if you wish you were there for this concert
For a second, I thought the first song would be Hey Ma 😂😂
YEAHHHHHHHH
choir boy of funk
Love the little interaction at 8:58 haha
28:57 slayyy Cory!
Where was the sound guy at the beginning?? The harmonizer!!!
7/8 da paura, grandi
@jemerysim: The composition at 40:45 is -- In the Real Early Morning
kudos to the bass guitar player!
I'm afraid to see my emotions if i was there...
😆🤣haha

1:20:33 - The "Semi-Mario Kart Lick"
Does anyone know what kind of headphones these guys are all wearing?
Man i really wish someone could transcribe that jam at the end

3:32 Isn't she from Pianote?
is this good?
There's 2 types of music.
The kind that you like, and the kind that you don't like.
I like it.
Maybe you don't, and that's fine.
El segundo tema es una genialidad. ¿Alguien sabe cómo se llama?
who arranged this music ?
Didn't understand the Name of the composer of the first piece???
Don't You Know is by Jacob Collier.
40:50 era para os violinos soarem assim mesmo? 🧐
29:15
Yes sir!!!🔥
since when is this?
2017 - in the description :)
2:17 I wish I could see jacob's face on those off beats piano hits xD
1:24:00
Isnt this like 7 years old?
Who did the arrangements?
I think Jacob's piano needs more presence...
Jacobs Vocoder was too low
26:00
39:20
Seems like arnold Schwarzenegger singing the song
? What is up with all the commercial breaks? No use in watching if the music stops every 15 seconds :) Pointless. I´m out.
Dude it's 2024, get an adblocker extension already or youtube is unwatchable.
I need that purple rain on spotify asap
The mixing sounds noisy, had to stop after a short while.
its funny to me how JC is given more clout than Bowie, Mercury, Lennon, John ...in reality, there is no comparison
1:15:58 Jacob lol
