Graph Tech Ghost Piezo Install - PRS CE24

- I have a bunch of guitar projects that I'm excited to share with you, I know it's a lot different from the norm but I feel like Rush fans and any guitar players out there would like these. First off, I decided to do a Piezo mod on a 1992 PRS CE24 in red just like Alex's. I didn't see any in-depth videos for these installs and so after doing it myself once and having to figure it out, I figured I would try to chronicle the project as best as I could
Doing this exact ghost piezo installation to a PRS SE too. Excited. Thanks for making vid!
did the same thing to my SE custom 24! threw in some Seymour Duncan Pegasus/sentient with locking tuners and damn! can’t put it down! put the Ghost tuneomatic bridge on my old 70s lawsuit Les Paul too. wired them in stereo and run it through a rattlesnake TRS splitter box into my fractal FM3. mono guitars can go through the splitter box unaffected. Portable and versatile rig. Nice video
I'm doing something similar but wiring to a TRS jack. Avoid drilling holes, send mags to tip, piezo to ring and then a TRS output cable to an A/B/Y box.
thought about that but the dual output would allow me to run it through my normal rig without a splitter and just use a second small fx rig that i could leave off if unused
I plan on just running all to the same mono output jack and using a clean amp setting for the piezo. May not sound as good but it just seems simpler to me.
@Lemonsqeez It's the beauty of the versatility. I'm not one to roll knobs so for me, I keep both dimed and use a footswitch. If you're using a singular tone and nit switching back and forth a mono cable might be good for a set it and forget it option.
@@secretstorymusic I suppose it’s the question of running separate output jacks controlled by a foot switch or using a pickup selector to switch between piezo and magnets. Either way some tap dancing would be required to turn off distortion so I could see where the first option might actually be easier.
That's awesome man! Maybe a Rush cover to hear what it sounds like?
Ill probably do some sort of cover soon just gotta create backing tracks
Anyone know is the pn800 compatible to replace my broken piezo on musicman silhouette?
Can't afford the original ebmm because it's so expensive. About $350 include shipping to my country... And sadly, I only broke 1 (low e piezo)
Hey dude, I was really looking forward to a demo with this set up as i have a ce24 and have thought about doing this mod. Please upload a demo dude!
i plan on doing an amp demo really soon, hopefully I can get it uploaded within the next week
@@14Maxmom i look forward to it!
??
@Max T Do you feel like you get enough output signal without the acoustiphonic pramp?
i’m sure the preamp would help but i run a compressor pedal and then straight into my speaker cab and it’s plenty loud, not really any gain or volume problems
I am curious where you located the output jack and plate? Thanks
PRS sells the jack and plate on their web store and then I drilled out the jack hole into the body and put the jack and plate just to the right of the original pickup output jack so they’re directly next to each other
Red and Black hot, green ground, white neutral...
