Yes, if you have the time and money it's doable. But I would not be surprised the cost on the finalized terratium is twice the price of the MILSBO between the foam, silicon, decor, humidifier, lights, etc.
It's gorgeous. I would love to see an update in a few months. I know two people who used Milsbo for Terrariums too but they both had the water problem you mentioned. One somehow rusted at the bottom and leaked and the other had a leakage at the back right eh metal pillar so keep an eye out for water damage. Where I live it is technically much cheaper to buy glass or plexiglass and build it yourself but most dont realize that. I consider making one sometime but I know it is quite a project
I'll tell here to check the bottom and will do an update in a few month. By the way, I knew a guy that build it's own triangle terrarium to put in the corner of his living room... that was gorgeous! He did the math and all by himself... I'm not that good in math taking into consideration the the thickness of the glass etc. haha
The expanding foam may detach from the glass over time. Best practice is to put a layer of silicone before the foam, which will stick to the glass better than the foam by itself.
The first time I looked at that cabinet at my local IKEA, I knew someone would eventually transform it into a terrarium.

@@WindowsillNepenthes it really adds up quickly...$$

Yea! I'm waiting for it to come back in stock in my area and I'm making a cabinet too. Great video! Thanks!
It's a fun project, but try to be outside for the silicone, it's smell like hell!
Great outcome! I’ve done this with my milsbo and rudsta cabinets. I made a UA-cam tutorial for the rudsta as well :)
Nice! I am always happy to see someone else's terrarium project.
Wooaaahhh !! Thanks for my next project ! Definitely doing this
You are welcome! It's doable, but be prepared to pay for all the extra things.
Nice man, I'd love to see an update on the neps! Also I missed your videos!
Will do!
@@WindowsillNepenthes yay!
it's looking so nice after one month already
Yes, I guess some parts will thrive and others won't. It's always like that 😉

It never happened to me over the years, but that's a good tip 😃
@@WindowsillNepenthes sometimes you don’t need it, but it IMO it’s better to have it and not need than need it and not have it.
Can you do a video after 6 months on how the plants have settled, thanks for sharing this ;)
Sure thing! Thanks the plan
Have you considered what will happen once the metal starts to rust? It looks amazing and the height is a nice element for the terrarium.
coated and painted metal is OK...holes that you drill, i painted the bare metal around to prevent this.
You have to cover it with something waterproof for sure 😊
What was the pipe in the bottom for again?
I believe it's for electricity for the fans
What are the nepenthes you use remy?
I'll have to ask my friend as she planted it. I just helped with the background. ;)
Here in the UK the MILSBO is £229 that's CA$ 412!!!
OMG! 😳
