I’ve had a Rudsta cabinet sitting in my living room for over a year because I wanted to turn it into a terrarium too, but I didn’t know where to start. Thanks so much for this video-it’s exactly what I needed!
That’s awesome for a first one! Great selection, clean up crew and substrate! In about 6-8 months it will look gorgeous! Next year could get some froggies or geckos!
This is timely as I’m researching how to do something similar but smaller. I so enjoy watching you do this stuff, the chuckles (misting system) and the inspiration, (the awesome build) are so real. I can see me doing it and going the same way.
I fell in love with isopods so I’ve been making mini 5.5gal terrariums for different species. So far I have dairy cows, puddings, and powdered oranges! I call them my bug farm. 😂
Wow!!! Love this! So much hard work! Great job! Plus, you activated my Alexa when you set your timer!!🤣 That was awesome!! Sending sunshine and hugs from California!❤
You’re such an inspiration Krystal ❤️ I see what you mean about putting the doors on too soon, thanks for letting us know that it’ll def come in handy to know, you’re brilliant, I’ve been scared to try this but I guess you gotta just go for it hey!! We’re doin it!! Oops she’s a squirter!! 😂😂 An orchid be awesomeness!! I want a coconut orchid myself, you probably want a little one there
I love this. What a great video. Very easy to follow . I have been wanting to do something like this for orchids. Your video gives me courage to try. Thanks.
We love this it’s amazing very similar to Benji plants Rudsta cabinet I also made one of these about a month ago but it was with the akerbar cabinet with was much smaller cuz I didn’t want to do a huge one
Some amazing tips. Sad when my gecko passed I decided in time to use his viv to plant up. At some point I will be doing similar but smaller. Not just for mini orchids but mostly for them Great vid thanks Have fun
I struggle with the drilling the hole. Even the maintenance guy at my I apartment that I asked for help from had hard time. Maybe it was the drill bit. I love this cabinet. Looks like a lot of fun!
I’m planning to do smth similar since I wanna create a bigger terrarium and have isopods as pets so this is perfect!! Is a misting system important/ do I need one? Or is it just an extra? Loved how urs turned out it’s sooo beautiful
Thank you so much! The misting system I included so it’s less maintenance. I don’t have to spray as often. Not necessary but you maybe have to spray more times throughout the week.
A very interesting idea 😍 but as an anthurium breeder I do not recommend such an amount for such a small space. These plants grow quite quickly to a really large size.
Whatever you do, avoid vanilla orchids. They're lovely but they grow fast and soon there's only vanilla. You could add some orchids that normally live alongside the anthuriums, like brassia but they tend to have humongous flower spikes. Cattleyas would do well there. Maybe even a brassavola. They smell so nice. Could totally see this terrarium with a brassavola nodosa.
HELP! I bought 15 Monstera Deliciosa plants(10" plastic pots) in September. 3 weeks later 1 plant rotted entirely with no node left to save. For the rest of the 14 I cut off any mushy rotted roots and potted into bigger terracotta pots. Watered only when the soil felt dry, but it's beyond me how the rot occurred. Some of the plants still look kinda wilted. I despise plastic pots for this very reason that soil just takes too friggin long to dry in my garden conditions, shouldn't have got them in plastic pots in the first place. Now I hate myself that I just can't keep plants alive. You've had your share of struggle with Monsteras, what steps to look for before buying and after taking them home, or suggest one of your videos please!❤
It looks awesome!! I love the idea of adding little bug guys to it, but are you worried they will climb out the hole you cut for the cords? The little roly-poly guys are adorable, but I wouldn't want them wandering my house. 🤣
Me who has no intention of doing something like this, but watching anyway to try to incentivize Krystal to upload more long form content: 😲😊
Yes!!!!
Yes! Love it 💚🌿
Agreed
I definitely would do this if i had the money! I'm constantly on the lookout for secondhand cabinets
I love you all tons! Thank you for the kick in the pants!
I love that your dog is with you the whole time, he's gotta investigate everything!
He is my micromanager and body guard. I love him to pieces.
I’m going to make my husband watch this again with me. I love the idea and want to do something similar for orchids and dart frogs.
Girl, you are glowing!! ❤ and so is the terrarium! 😂
Thank you so so much 🥹🫶🏽

It’s gorgeous. Definitely a labor of love. 🫶🏼🥰
Thanks for including the lil giggle. I needed that this morning 😂
You’re welcome! 🥰 Happy to bring some joy to your morning. Have the best Thursday!
@@PlantswithKrystal You too! 🫶🏼
That’s awesome for a first one! Great selection, clean up crew and substrate! In about 6-8 months it will look gorgeous! Next year could get some froggies or geckos!
I can't wait to see how it develops! 😊 and maybe a mascot for the space in the future too.
I admire you for so many reasons. Keep on ‘faking it till you make it’ and I will try too. ❤
Thank you so much!!! Keep on "faking it till we make it". 💚💚💚

Omg I would love to do this once I move in a bigger place ! This is stunning you can be proud of yourself !!
Krystal! It looks SOO good!! And what a huge undertaking. I've always wanted to do this. She's beautiful!!! 😍
This diy cabinet is gorgeous, Kyrstal!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽💐❣️
Welcome to the dairy cow farming community. 🐮🤠🐄 I love the terrarium and you’ll love watching those little cuties crawl around!
I fell in love with isopods so I’ve been making mini 5.5gal terrariums for different species. So far I have dairy cows, puddings, and powdered oranges! I call them my bug farm. 😂
@@corndogmurphy They have such weird little personalities.

Same 😂
Love how you doggie is all up in the cabinet as you’re trying to build. :) and you’ve gotten so smooth in your narration. This was a great video!
Thank you so much! Even when he is not shown, he is always close enough that his eyes need to be on me. He's a great sidekick.
This was super cool to watch. I'd love to do this when my kids are older.
WOW! Krystal, this is AWESOME! I really love watching you and what you do with your plants.🙂
This is so awesome!! Can’t wait to see how it grows and expands 🎉
This is one of the most beautiful builds I’ve seen! I would love to do one just like this.
Looks great. One suggestion would have been to use great stuff expanding foam for ponds. It's waterproof and black so easier to hide.

This is beyond cool! You did an amazing job of actually breaking down the complete setup so we could do it ourselves with confidence 🫶🏼 Thanks girl
I love the seahorse log!

It looks amazing, I would definitely like to do this one day.
It’s so much fun, you’re going to love the process!
The terrarium video is here, ahhh!!! I’m so excited for this video after watching the progress on IG
Thank you! It was quite an adventure with it but I'm happy she is done.
I love this!!! Great job!
Love watching your videos! I am kind of inspired to do something similar now! Great work!❤
I love it. I'm getting ready to do my own, and this helps a lot. Especially what little critters I'll need. 😊❤ thanks
lol how many peoples Alexa’s just got set and went off. 🤣
I got you 😜
Wow! This is awesooooooome! Love it !
This is impressive!!!
Beautiful!!❤😊❤😊❤😊❤❤❤
So cool! I love it thank you for the ideas ❤
Beautiful home! Amazing terrarium. Rn I have a small one on my desk and I want isopods but I’m scared of bugs 😂😂
Isopods will quickly grow on you. They don't feel as creepy crawly as spiders do.
You did such a good job 😭😭 I love it
Oh shit I didn’t see how recently you’d posted this and was about to look for updates!! Lol this is awesome! Can’t wait to see how it grows
Thank you so much! I can't wait to see how it grows in the next 6 months. It's changed a bunch already in such a short time.
Thank you
Beautiful terrarium!! And can I please take a moment to point out how gorgeous, healthy and happy you look too!!
You are so kind! Thank you so much!!!
Looks amazing ❤
It's a joy to see your videos made me laugh..and very informative of plants

Thank you so much! I have so much fun making it 😊
Awesome video ❤️
LOVE IT!
Beautiful 😍
This turned out amazing 🤯made me look into getting a Rudsta myself 👀
Yesss!!! I have been thinking about getting into this! Gracias 🎉🎉
The water going everywhereeee😂 Thank you that made my day❤️
Leave it to me to be a hot mess 😂
frakkkkk uuu just when I thought I had enough and i was totally fine I see this
You should get a crested gecko for this terrarium, just house it in a smaller house while it’s little but this would be perfect for a crested gecko
Isn’t 90% humidity way too high for one?
I would loveeee to see you keep frogs
this is so cool!!
OMG I'm so doing this!!!! It's amazing! Love your content
Definitely trying this 😊 I love it ❤
Love it!
I'm gonna do this 👍

This is amazing! You also managed to set off my Alexa twice last night, lol
I'm too old to do all that work❤
Why did I just notice how short you are😭🥰.I love your content.
😂 people always tell me I have tall girl energy online.
I love your videos and reels ❤ awesome work.. A quick question, how did you seal the opening at the back that you created for chords?
hi krystal I love you so much
Hi love! Thank you so much for your love and support here 🫶🏽
That log in the middle looks like a sea horse 5:43 😂😂😂
Yes 😂 that’s why I loved it!

Krystal you are so very beautiful, on the inside and the outside.
I use wax paper to wrap things that I don't want to stick. Paint, great stuff, etc doesn't like to stick to wax paper. :)
That’s a great idea! I’m going to try that out next time.

Thank you so much! And no, I don’t. The hole is up very high and I have it covered with painters tape to keep the humidity in too.
That is so cool. But I wouldn’t have the patients.
You should name her Flora 😊
Oh I love this!!!!
