Good job laying out detail for a very experience mechanic/retired after 45 years, for me to help a friend, 2 harbor freight floor jacks makes me feel right at home. Love to see you have fun doing it. Thanks for the vid.
i have the same car and i'm trying to Replace the flywheel because the gear teeth are broken but is their a way i can Replace it without having to remove the transmisión ? i'm thinking if i can make a gap Big enough? just to get it out and put the new one would that work?
@First2watch I believe it's a side pan so you don't have to take it out. You can get it from the bottom. It should be located in the front of it. Near the fans
This what get me people always complain. There’s no jobs nowhere but if you got skills and knowledge of doing things with your hands and your mind, you don’t have to worry about money. You can get money your self without asking people for money
I have one of these in, 130k, shuddering torque converter, still shifts good. Changed fluid with a friction modifier to buy time and limit damage for the mean time, stopped the shudder, still falls out of lockup quick. Should i risk putting in a brand new converter or a used low mile transmission. Brand new trans not an option unfortunately, but its a nice car for the rust belt would hate to see it become a junker because its pretty clean.
@squarebodyseth5986 I found this transmission with a ninety day warranty. Costed 400. We never got a call back. If you do go, . used route. As long as the fluid doesn't smell burnt you should be fine. And of course you will save a lot of money if you do the job yourself

@@QuintonJr1 if it's the exact same, same 4 speed or 5 speed whatever it is
How long did this actually take y'all to do?
@@mjteevee1985 about 10 hours start to finish and driven
@puromobilemechanicdallasga7832 good stuff. We just did one also, definitely not bad for a FWD job
Did it have to be reprogrammed
@jaredgreen2235 not at all. Plug and play on this one
How much to do this in a 16 Malibu?
And you didn't swap the transmission controller for the old one either? Still just plug and play?
@scottfoster4592 plug and play. It worked like that
@@jaredgreen2235 I didn't reprogram nothing
