Gary Moore was an amazing guitarist, not only the bluesman most people know (it actually came rather late in his career) but also great in jazz, metal and even classical music (some of his best solo are inspired by classical music). No wonder she recognized a twin soul in the great irishman.
This was Oct. 20, 2018 at the Orange Amps event at the Music Fair (for instrument makers, dealers, etc.) held at the Tokyo Big Sight exhibition center. Miyako played "Above the Black Sea", "Shadowmaker", and "Parisienne Walkways". There was a "Parisienne Walkways" boom in Japan in 2014 when the song was used in the short program by Japanese male figure skater Yuzuru Hanyu on his way to a gold medal at the Winter Olympics. The TV broadcaster in Japan and the Japanese Olympic team were inundated by requests from viewers for info about the song. Btw, Miyako's birthday is April 5, Gary Moore's April 4 (very different years, needless to say).
Gary Moore was a great guitarist and certainly an inspiration for Miyako and I hope that she too achieves a worldwide fame because he is a great very professional and very talented musician. A gorgeous girl in every sense, thank you for this reaction!
I ADORE this performance. I’ve played it loads of times. Miyako is very faithful to the original (which had vocals by the late, lamented legend of Thin Lizzy, Phil Lynott). Gary himself would often milk the song for almost twice it’s original length, but always, always adding something, not just playing for playing’s sake. For example, just after your last pause, there’s a held feedback note. Gary became infamous for making it hang for an eternity. Miyako’s performance has no showboating…just pure emotion. And they call her the ice queen. Nothing could be further from the truth. She’s just not flash or showy and sees no value in grinning like a Cheshire Cat….that and her vibrato are both Blackmore traits she’s picked up from her subliminal programming by her mom!
Love it! Miyako is my favorite of the two. She can shred with the best but she is a tad better at bringing out the emotion on a guitar. She could make me cry if she wanted with her playing.
Miyako's guitar is also highly modified by herself. I am not a guitarist, I'm just refering to a video Miyako did about her guitar on her UA-cam channel. She changed to Fishman pickups, converted the guitar from passive to active and experimented a lot with the capacitors to get the right sound. 🤘🐺🤘
Great cover! Miyako is really feeling it. Let me know your thoughts. Don't forget to Like and Subscribe! Check out the NEW Amazon links in the description!
Miyako makes that guitar sing!! Fantastic cover of a great song by Gary Moore, i think he would approve!! 🤘 I cant wait for Lovebites to be back with more of her amazing songs!! 🤘🐺🤘 Caught a bit of the BM show last night, great show!!
she is sponsored y Orange they have even made her special white amps you can see in the most recent performances and just came out with a small white Miyako combo amp for the public to purchase this year out of my price range damnit lol
I would also suggest looking at Taj Farrant play this song. The first time I heard him play Parisienne Walkways he was 10 and he recently did it again at his ripe old age of 13. He says he sometimes cries when he plays because he feels the music. I just know I like watching him.
I wouldn't really call Miyako a "Virtuoso", she is a great guitarist and pianist but not virtusolo level at all. The cover is alright, felt robotic, playing like this could work for fast shreddy stuff but doesn't work so much with Gary Moore style melodic slow playing
@@lonniekramlich6241 sure it is an opinion to like her playing and it is my opinion to not like it, but it is not an opinion to say someone is virtuoso when they aren't
This girl on lovebites is a BEAST on the Instruments fastest player of ol japanese female Bands
She is a beast for sure! Thanks!
👸MIYAKO 🎸❄ Her emotion is delivered through her playing. 🤘🐺🤘
Absolutely!
Gary would be proud, would be even better if Miyako had used her Les Paul for this!
Nice!
Legendary Gary Moore still lives through her style and sound. And that is beutiful. Gotta love Miyako-there are no limits of what she can do. ROCK ON!
She's definitely going places! Thanks!
I agree, she often reminds me of David Gilmour. Either way, she is Miyako, and will go down as a legend in her own right.
Absolutely!
Miyako playing cover of the legendary Gary Moore , wow . Thanks for reacting bro .
Thanks!
What more shocking me in this version of gary more song is the emotion she puts in
It's awesome!
There is also the piano version by Miyako of this song.
Awesome!

Wow! That's some awesome info! Thanks!
I wonder if the time difference between Japan and Belfast would put their birthdays on the same day if converted to UTC.
@@CrYou575 Japan is +9 UTC. I guess it would depend on what time of day Miyako and Gary were born.

Miyako brings the feelz. She is great with bends and vibrato. Something you can't do with a piano!
Very true!
Still one of my favourite songs by Gary. Miyako did it absolute justice. Closing my eyes I thought Gary had come back to the living.
Thanks!

I actually enjoy that Miyako doesn't smile that often. Gives an air of mystery which I enjoy!

I'm with ya on that one!

I don't know anything about guitars, but thanks for the info!
True, she's a real guitar geek (even assembling guitars herself as a hobby).
They don't call her the golden touch for nothing. 😍🤟🐺🎸
Good point! LOL
introvert lady with many talent, she is Miyako

I can't wait either! More content! The show last night was amazing! Glad you were able to catch some of it! Thanks!
Miyako returned in 2020 at the same show. Midori was also there in 2020.
Awesome!
Parisienne - as in an inhabitant of Paris, France. Sounds like pariz-ee-en. 😀😀😀😀
Ahhhh...thanks!

Indeed!
Anybody who thinks Miyako and Midori are just "soulless shredders" needs to get a clue.
Agree!

Awesome! I'll have to take a look. Thanks!
the original Gary Moore version of this from the 2010 Montreux Festival is absolute 🔥 you should react to it sometime
Thanks! I'll take a look!

Well that's his opinion......you know what they say.....🤔
i look forward to viewing your version so you can show Miyako how it should be done.
@@deejayem56 I can't play it but I can tell when someone doesn't play the way it should be played
