She didn’t tour that year or the year after, not until 2001 Drowned World Tour. Her life changes. She meets Guy Richie, gets pregnant and gets married. This is the next Madonna chapter.
Love going on this journey with you guys ❤

Her guest role in Will and Grace is pretty underrated. It’s a comedy role, but she actually did pretty good in the role. You guys should react to it once we get to around 2003 😂

Madonna got me into spirituality when I was like 17 with Ray of Light. Her journey was really inspiring for me. I’m not into Kabbalah, but alot of what she’s said in interviews has helped me ponder some things.

15:20 right, so, around this time Madonna was trying to play her in the movie 50 violins. She eventually dropped the entire process (as well as the Ray of light tour) to film The Next Best Thing movie. The movie then became Music of The Heart and Meryl Streep played the role of Roberta.

18:47 in here she’s talking about Melanie Henry, formerly Ciccone. She mentions in another interview that her sister “lured” her into working with her brother-in-law Joe Henry back in 1997. They recorded a track called Guilty By Association in a tribute to Vic Chestnutt. On the next album, Music, you’ll find out that Madonna recorded one of Henry’s songs, “Stop”. Only she called it Don’t Tell Me 😊

    Hello Ladies,
I recently watched your reaction videos of the Celebration tour and I am thrilled that you finally got to experience Madonna live. It's “like virgin, touched for the very first time” with Madonna Magic, sharing a space with her and feeling her vocal vibrations enter your body through your heart and ears. It's a religious experience, similar to how songs, music, or Om vibrations are used for healing in various religions.
The interviews were fantastic and they brought back a rollercoaster of emotions and memories from when I first saw them in 1998. Madonna's voice when speaking has a calming effect, with a dual tone that can be both soothing and occasionally loud and scratchy when she gets into character. I could listen to her all day. Her responses to the questions are wise and she seems like an old soul who has been reincarnated many times on this earth.
By the way, Debi Mazar, interviewed on 'Madonna rising' VH1 - the funny girl with the heavy New York dialect, is one of Madonna's oldest friends from before Madonna became famous. Their friendship is deeply organic and Debi even appeared in Madonna's True Blue music video in 1986.
Welcome to the "Ive seen Madonna live club"

Madonna always teached me so much in these kind of interviews. About art, literature, music, history, but also life lessons. You can tell she is a very intelligent and intellectual woman. I feel like I learn something every time I listen to her, it's almost like reading a good book. So now let's dive into Lola Montez, since we didn't have google back then when I watched this and now we do. Madonna is my religion.

in the first part of the interview she said she didn’t want to have so many children but now she has 6, the same number her mother had when she died. I don’t think she ever “recovered” from her mother’s death, if one can recover from something like that, but having her own children definitely healed some of that pain for her. she made a post on Mother’s Day and said that she realized that it’s her children that have been raising her for all these years ❤ can’t wait for your reaction to Beautiful Stranger! Have a lovely week ❤

    • @OurAnxiousReactions

Completely agree - It's almost impossible to fully recover from a loss like that (you usually just learn how to live with the pain), but it's beautiful that her children have had such a healing effect on her life. ❤️❤️

This amazing interview was full of fascinating insight on Madonna’s personal, artistic and spiritual evolution. In my own deep dive into her life and artistry, I realized that although she had a Catholic upbringing, she gradually became disenchanted and distrustful of organized religion in the course of her artistry. Be it Christianity, Judaism or Islam-she found their patriarchal hierarchy, authoritarian and judgmental dogma to be divisive, intolerant and a historical source of conflicts, prejudice towards women, LGBTQ, and to those who did not belong/adhere to their theology.
By the mid-1990s, she went on a spiritual journey through Eastern mysticism (Hinduism, Buddhism, practice of yoga, Sufism, and Kabbalah) in search of deeper answers. Her becoming a mother in 1996 and this spiritual odyssey is when she discovered new wisdom and spirituality that inspired and influenced her personal life, artistry and advocacy that’s reflected in the Ray Of Light era going forward.
In addition to her already considerable advocacy and support for many worthy causes, her charitable and humanitarian activities during this era would focus more on raising/donating millions of $ for Spirituality For Kids-a Kabbalah Center outreach for funding music and arts education for children specially in underserved local and global regions. She’s already established Ray Of Light Foundation in 1998 based in L.A. with her younger sister, Melanie, as trustee on Madonna’s behalf with its global humanitarian/charitable efforts. Then in 2006 she co-founded Raising Malawi for the benefit of AIDS orphans in Africa.
She would go on and raise her 6 children-with each one pursuing interests in the arts-and she may very well be on the way to earning the legacy of not only being “a good mother” but a great one, as well as an acclaimed pop music and cultural icon. She’s incredible and truly inspiring.
Thoroughly enjoyed your reaction-thank you!! Btw, Emily, luv that verdigris colored t-shirt you’re wearing-it not only looks good on you but it goes well with Madonna’s ROL era, since that color is associated with renewal and rebirth.❤😊

I was the 7th Son in my family. Being the youngest in my family it was always strange that my class mates only had two or three siblings. There are so many families now with only one child, I don't think it's an economic thing either. We had very little to spare. I was wearing clothes that were not just hand me downs, but clothes from 20 years ago hahahaha I'd be considered cool now, bit back then I was in flares when the rest of my school were wearing jeans with turn ups. Thank heavens for uniforms hehehehe
